Their quote was too expensive and they really were not that informative about what all they had to do. The person who came out seemed to know what he was talking about sometimes, not all the time.

It went okay. The cost for the work was by far the best out of all of the quotes we received. The man that came to the house to give the estimate impressed my husband as being very knowledgeable and capable. He was not a salesperson, but someone that sounded like they knew what they were talking about. Once we decided to go with Stash it seemed like it took a long time to actually get them scheduled to come and perform the work, but I think we had unrealistic expectations that they would be able to schedule us in the next few weeks. In reality it took about a month and a half to get an actually date scheduled for the work to start. The pump and fan installation were done in one day with no issue. The tiling work was great. Only issue that arose was when the worker tiled around vanity and toilet instead of pulling them out. I would not have caught it myself, but my husband went down there to inspect it once the man was gone for the day and noticed. I found it unsettling that he would have decided to take that shortcut, especially considering that pulling and replacing the vanity and toilet were specifically mentioned in the quote. My husband called the project supervisor and left a message that it needed to be redone according to the quote. The project supervisor never returned the phone call. Instead, the worker came in the next day and asked my husband what the problem was. My husband told him he had to pull the vanity and toilet, not just tile around them. The worker explained that he had decided not to pull the vanity sink because he was concerned it might break. My husband had him pull it anyhow. The issue was fixed that day. We ended up replacing the toilet, instead of putting the old one back in. The worker said he would haul away the toilet. Unfortunately, it did not fit in his truck so he told us he would come back for it. After two days, we figured he was never coming back for it. Not a big deal though, we just put it out with the rest of the garbage. All in all, not a horrible experience. The floor looks awesome.
Description of Work: Tiled basement foyer and basement bathroom. Installed injection pump to correct issue with shower plumbing running into sump pump. Installed basement bathroom fan. Installed new toilet.

An estimator from Stash came out approximately three weeks ago for an estimate. I never heard back from them and called three or four days ago. I was told I would receive a call back from the man that did the estimate and still haven't received a call. Absolutely not interested in doing business with them now.

It's not well at all. He came out promptly but he never responded back with us with the written estimate proposal or anything that we were looking for in the price. He said he would write it out for us and submit it to us but he never did.
Description of Work: We talked to Stash Construction for general remodeling.
I am a single woman that need another bathroom added and minor updated changes ....So I contracted Stash ...Big, Big, Mistake, It was a disaster, along with over three months of h*** for a small project. Wrong shower installed. Wrong toilet installed. Wrong flooring installed. Every week I had to have them take out the wrong and put in correct product. All material was discussed and written down in office, but not one of the material I chose made it to my project site. Stash Construction tried pushing crap, rejects, or 1980 flooring on me!! FOR BIG MONEY! After replacing flooring, for the second time, they put the old cheap crappy molding in, I had purchased new molding for bathroom..It disappeared!! Yes stolen! Electrical outlets installed east west, north south... no reason.. plain .sloppy..I will just say... electrician. a reject like everything else that Stash tried pushing off on me..FOR BIG MONEY!!!!! Can not hang bathroom mirror flush to back of sink counter due to electrical box positioned wrong..and this is a 7 x 9 bathroom, plenty of room to make it smooth..they had no clue what to do. Door to bathroom had to come from a garbage dump they pulled it out from. When installed the door knob it is 29" from the ground.!! Painters treated my clean basement that has living quarters, like a broiler room!!...Mud, glue, paint spilled and tracked everywhere, on floor, stairs, new utility tub, HD washer and dryer...and I left sheets down there to have them use ..I never new when workers would show up sometimes for 2 days then not for 2 weeks..They even had the nerve to use my tools, and my supplies and yes electrical items missing, gone, STOLEN! Wood railing /spindles, were not the ones I picked out, again, that all had to be replaced, and re-installed, Installer had NO clue how to incorporate with wall plan..left holes where he had to use saws all to correct mistakes..Never patched, painted or cleaned up any messes or errors!!!
Description of Work: Add a bathroom in basement, replace existing metal railing with wood rail approx 4 feet, replace 3 wood stairs and replacd existing upstairs bathing flooring.

They went through a two or three step process, with what they were going to do, and then the following week they sent out a man to actually do the work and he did it. I was at my insurance agent a couple of months before this and I noticed that they had some business cards there from Stash. They do all other kinds of work too. I am happy with the work they did, no problems at all. They cleaned up their mess, and they were very honest and respectful. They were very prompt and responding to my request, and they sent a man out to give me an estimate. He said he will get back in touch with me by e-mail and he gave me the estimate by e-mail and then I was able to contact him by e-mail and accept their offer, and everything went very smoothly. They quoted a fair price. They were right on time and the guy did a very good job.
Description of Work: Stash Construction did some work with the chimney. They put a new seal ring because water was dripping down in between the roof and the chimney pipe, so they basically put a new seal up there and then a couple of new pieces of shingles to prevent the leak, and it worked.

We chose STASH Construction for four reasons: 1. They were highly reviewed and rated. 2. They are local. 3. They were listed as a "preferred" company by our insurance company, The Hartford. 4. They were significantly lower in their estimate for the non-covered work, compared to two other highly reviewed companies. All contacts with the company were handled in a professional and business-like manner; from the first phone contact with the office, several visits with Josh, the estimator, even interacting with the workers on the crews, especially Mike, who accommodated some special requests, including the follow up visit to perform the final touch-up and detailing. The work was done according to the agreed upon schedule and price. To help in our decision of roof shingle type and color, they provided online photos and addresses of completed jobs so that we could see the work for ourselves. Some special requests were also made to Josh such as: cutting extra vent holes along the entire length of the house soffits, which was not a part of the claim, and for which there was no charge; installing a bath vent and flashing, again no charge; and finally, the special and careful attention which Josh applied to the color matching and hand painting of the very visible chimney flashing. This special attention to detail and to the attempt to satisfy this client made a very positive impression on me. I approached the process of finding a contractor and then dealing with the daily oversight of the details of the project with great concern. The reviews and advice provided on Angie's List greatly simplified my work in this case. I will certainly contact STASH Construction first for my upcoming interior remodeling projects. Based on their fine work and the overall excellent experience, I do highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Complete tear-off of old roofing materials including roof vents, gutters, downspouts and soffit vents on house and garage. Replaced wooden sheathing and fascia boards where needed. Cut new vent holes along wooden soffit sheathing. Installed all new roofing materials: roofing felt, ice & water shield, shingles. Installed new gutters with leaf guards, downspouts and roof vents. Installed new aluminum fascia and soffits with added soffit vents. Installed and painted new flashing around chimney. Installed new bathroom vent pipe and flashing.

.I subscribed to Angie's list and found Stash Construction under roofing and called and made an appointment with Josh Josh from Stash Construction came out to look at what needed to be done. Gave a verbal estimate and said he would follow up with a written estimate. The written estimate was received after a followup phone call from me. I returned the written estimate, after signing it, to Deborah at Stash Construction. I called two weeks after to find out if they were still going to do the work and was told by Debbie at Stash the signed email copy was never received / received and misplaced so I sent it again. Debbie verified receipt of the signed work order and said Josh would call back to schedule the repairs and that was about two weeks ago. Haven't heard anything from Josh since. Sending an email to the contractor through Angie's list also delayed the repairs. Called Angie's list to find out that they are aware of the problem and are trying to repair their email server. I keep getting reminders from Angie's list to rate the supplier but they have yet to come back to do the repairs. I am still waiting to hear from Josh at Stash Construction as to when they will be out to do the repairs.

Out of the 3 companies I called, they were the first to call me back and came out the next day. The gentleman went on the roof, accessed the problem, gave me a price, then went to get the parts he needed, He was back promptly and did the repairs. Charged $400 and said the estimate I got from another company weeks prior was for repairs NOT needed; other company's estimate was $900. The gentleman was Stash was professional, cordial and I have had no problems since. I would definitely use them again in the future.

We hired Stash Construction in April with a finish date of 2 - 3 weeks. Unfortunately, due to the rainy weather and some uncontrollable situations, the project actuallly took more like 5 weeks which, in my experience with other contractors, was pretty punctual! Josh was our sales rep and he was VERY accommodating as well as Brock, our project manager. They were always anxious to make us happy and do a great job. Having been involved with $1M+ projects before, this project went very smoothly and my husband and I are pleased with the results. All of the workers were professional and personable and truly wanted to do a great job. Only a couple of cons here which included a crack in the newly poured cement (within 1.5 weeks of the pour!) Josh, Brock and the rest of the folks at Stash bent over backwards to make things acceptable for us and it was a refreshing surprise. Also, communication broke down a little toward the end of the project in regards to letting us know when parts of the job were going to be worked on and on some finishing touches. All-in-all, it was a great experience and I look forward to working with them again!
Description of Work: Stash construction demolished our old garage along with the old cement pad and apron to the garage. New garage needed footings, pad, and apron. Built new 2.5 garage and used cement and electrical subcontractors to do respective work.

Had a great experience with Stash Construction. They were quick to respond, easy to communicate with, and worked like I would expect. There is a good reason they have been around 30 some years. My roof looks great and zero leaks! Thanks! A+
Description of Work: Needed our roof replaced after a bad storm came through and blew off shingles. We got our quotes and decided to go with Stash Construction, a local company that had been recommended to us by someone who found them on Angie's list and used them before. I like supporting local companies, especially ones that have been around a while.
