We had gotten several bids on fixing the broken sewer line. We found one plumber that quoted us a significantly lower price than the others and had good ratings on Angie's List. After several months of phone calls and a second quote for more than double the inital one, we decided to start looking again for other contractors. Marc Davis stopped by and gave us an estimate with a small range ($4000 - $4500) based on what he might find once he uncovered the broken line. We gave him a check for a down payment and he was out within a few days to do the work exactly as promised. The entire process from the quote to the work being done was about a week. Once the crew had the sewer line uncovered and had a chance to look at the situation, they discovered that the 2x4 in the sewer line was further down than the broken tile. The guys were able to get the 2x4 out of the way, but then discovered that the breakage was more than just a crushed elbow that they initially thought. They were concerned that they'd have to get more (bigger) equipment to dig further down to replace more tiles. I was told that if this was the case the price would probably double. Before resorting to more equipment, the crew dug out the next tile by hand. Because of this, they were able to replace just that one additional tile at a minimal cost beyond the original range I was given. Marc and his crew went above and beyond to keep the job as close to the original estimate as possible. I'd absolutely hire them again. They were very honest and kept me in the loop throughout the job. They were punctual, courteous, and efficient.
