The man who came out tried to jump over my back gate (damaging the gate in the process) without letting us know, swept off the deck, and started painting without doing any power-washing. We agreed that he would take half of the price off for that. For the shower, it took nearly 4 and a half weeks to obtain the supplies (I was initially told 2 weeks). When they finally called they let me know they would be out on 9/9 to do the work. They came out that day to install the shower and only installed one shelf, as opposed to the 2 we had agreed on in the contract. The shower door was also installed incorrectly and the installation of the shower itself was done wrong and filled in with caulk. I called the next day and never heard back from them so I ended up having to call a plumber to fix a lot of the problems they left behind. I called on 10/12 to inquire about the second shelf and having the gate repaired but I still haven't heard anything back from them! They refuse to return my calls despite the fact that their answering machine says they will do so in 24 hours.
Description of Work: I hired them for two projects. One was to power-wash and stain the deck and the other was to install a very small shower in my bedroom.

The company walked off in the middle of the job only to return two weeks later after a talk with my husband. He came back for a couple of days after walking off the job again. He finally walked off the job unfinished and he has a signed contract with us that has not been fulfilled. He still has possession of a key to our residence.
Description of Work: The company was hired to finish the basement and remodel the basement bathroom. He knocked out the wall in the upstairs bathroom. He was to move the basement stairs to another location. He removed the attic stairs and replaced with folding door. He also gutted the bathroom upstairs. He gutted the kitchen and needed to knock down a wall both in the kitchen and upstairs.

Flawless process great guy!
Description of Work: Remodeled a small bathroom for me. New sink, shower toilet, floor. Beautiful work will be posting pictures.
Scott and his crew provided the lowest cost estimate for this job. Scott showed up quickly and provided an estimate for the job. We originally were going to have him lay tile in the bathrooms, kitchen, and foyer, but with the cost being so reasonable, we added hardwood floor to the rest of the first floor. They started on the selected day, after contract and 50% down payment. Scott added on the hardwood estimate, when asked, and was able to immediately start on the hardwood when he finished the tile. They did take a while longer than expected on the tile floors, due to the amount of tile that needed to be laid. The hardwood floors went in quickly, and look great. They were at my house almost daily for 3-4 weeks to complete the job. I was very happy with the completed work. We ran into a problem about 30 days later. The grout in all of the tile floors started cracking. I notified Scott of the problems, and he had one of his crew members show up to look at the floors. His crew member looked at the floor and noted that it was probably due to the grout not being pushed into the cracks hard enough. Scott then came by and looked at the floor. He felt as though the problem was due to house settling. We did have some floor sag as the joists took on the weight of the newly added tile flooring, but these cracks were extensive. Scott agreed to fix the grout, and would fix it as soon as his crew was available. I had a contractor associate come by and look at the floors, and he felt the problem was not pushing the grout into the cracks hard enough, leaving gaps between the grout and the subfloor. Either way, the flooring was going to be fixed so I was happy. Scott planned on coming by in 2 weeks to start fixing the grout. 2 weeks came by and he did not show. I called, and he informed me that he would get started two days later. 2 days later, he did not show. I called and he stated he would get to it the next week. The next week came, and I did not hear from him. I was able to finally reach him, and told him I expect him to show up to fix the flooring problem. He had his crew show up the following Monday. After talking with the crew, I found out that Scott was not trying to ignore me, but had forgotten about the repair job as he had been busy recently. The crew got to work grinding the old grout out and pushing new grout in. This time they had their more experienced member applying the grout. One problem I ran into, was the lack of preparation to keeping the other rooms of the house clean. The crew spent 45 minutes cleaning dust out of the other rooms, due to not hanging plastic properly when grinding out the grout. Despite the work by the crew, we had to put in a few hours to get most of the dust up, and we are still seeing grout dust in places to this day. I think this is a little bit of lack of experience, and no doubt a problem they will avoid in the future. Scott did arrive later in the day and asked me to sign a contract stating that the problem was due to house settling, and that he would repair the flooring one time, and would not repair it again without charge. I refused to sign the agreement, telling him that if it cracked again in 30 days, due to poor installation, then he would have to come out and fix it again. I never saw a contract again. Luckily this time the installation was completed well, and it has been over 1 year since he fixed the grout. The grout has not cracked, and the floors look just as good as when they were installed. Scott and his crew are a group of young men who are establishing themselves in the contractor profession. They did complete the job as requested, and fixed it to my specifications after the flooring failed after installation. Scott does need some better organization when it comes to keeping track of pending jobs, so that customers to not get lost. I expected a good flooring job, and received a product I am very happy with. Overall, I received exactly what I expected for the price I paid. I wish Scott and his crew luck in the future, as he will no doubt get better with his organization, timing, and finishing skills as he and his crew gain experience. I would not hesitate to use Pro-con again in the future.
Description of Work: 750 sq feet of hardwood and 550 sq feet of tile with base board replacement and shoe mold addition. This did not include materials, as they were purchased prior to receiving the estimate.

Pro-Con started the job on time and finished within the 2 days estimated. They worked a 12 hour day on the first day to be sure they could finish the job on the second day as promised. The crew was very personable and professional. They answered all questions quickly and accurately. The finished product was of excellent quality and done in a very prompt manner. I was so pleased with the quality and price I have hired the contractor to install hardwood flooring in my family room as well as other miscellaneous tasks needed.
Description of Work: Pro-Con removed laminate wood flooring in kitchen and installed new ceramic tire flooring. Moving of the refrigerator, oven and dishwasher was included in the price.
