Handyman Plus

The worker showed up on time and did mostly good work including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and ceramic tile. However, at the end-of-job when Richard wanted a check for the completion he refused to discuss my punch list of things remaining. Electrical work was done inproperly, the shower head was mounted incorrectly, the shower rod, two handicap assist bars and two towel rods were not installed. Additionally, the pathway through the house had not been cleaned (even broom swept) and there were dings in the paint/plaster of the living room and hallway as a result of carelessness in moving materials to and from the bathroom. Richard, the owner of Handyman Plus, and I agreed on the remaining amount owed but he would absolutely not talk about the open items.

I have a rental house. The last tenants painted one bedroom and an adjoining full bathroom a yellowish gold including the walls (drywall), baseboards, textured ceiling, doors, and trim around doors, a second bedroom they painted purple including the walls (drywall), baseboards, textured ceiling, doors, and trim around the doors, and a third bedroom they painted a medium dark blue but luckily just the walls (drywall) and the ceiling. I hired this company to apply primer to these surfaces since the colors would bleed through if I just had them painted. I supplied 5 gallons of Zinsser Bullseye 123 primer. They charged $520 which included an additional 5 gallons of primer, and it took them two days and two workers. They had to apply three coats to the gold bedroom and bathroom and two coats to the other two bedrooms. Overall I am satisfied with the work though there were a few small areas they missed and there were some areas where primer ran and some bleed through in a few areas. Also there were a few drops of dried primer in the sink. I did not know that it would cost $200+ to have my carpet reattached, the workers pulled the carpeting back away from the walls so they could paint the baseboards. I should have asked them if they could paint the baseboards without pulling the carpeting back. Of course, if they did not pull the carpeting back it probably would have taken more time for the priming and cost me more money. They also removed an old dishwaher and disposed of it and installed a new dishwasher for $150. I am very happy with this installation.
