TECHNICIAN, KEVIN, WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL, PLEASANT, AND THOROUGH. HE TOOK TIME TO EXPLAIN MANY THINGS. MY ONLY COMPLAINT WAS THAT I HAD TO CALL AIR-TROL TO VERIFY THAT THE SERVICE CALL WAS STILL ON THE SCHEDULE. I WAS INFORMED THEY WERE RUNNING 1 1/2 HOURS BEHIND SCHEDULE. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN WONDERFUL IF AIR-TROL COULD HAVE CALLED ME TO INFORM ME OF THE DELAY. AFTER MY PHONE CALL, THEY GAVE ME A NEW TIME TO EXPECT THE TECHNICIAN. HE SHOWED UP EXACTLY ON TIME.

JOB 1: OUR AC WASN'T WORKING CORRECTLY. ANDY CAME OUT & EXPLAINED WHY IT DIDN'T SEEM TO WORK AS WELL & RECOMMENDED CLEANING IT, BUT NOT REPLACING IT. WE APPRECIATED THE HONESTY & TAKING THE TIME TO EXPLAIN TO US. JOB 2:THE BEST ORGANIZATIONS THAT WE HAVE EVER USED. OUR FURNACE STOPPED WORKING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. THEY COME OUT THE NEXT DAY TO CHECK. AFTER LOOKING OVER THE FURNACE & EXPL. WHAT WAS WRONG & WHAT OUR OPTIONS WERE WE MADE THE CHOICE TO REPLACE EVERYTHING. THEY WERE ABLE TO DO THE INSTALL THE NEXT DAY WHICH WAS IMPORTANT B/C WE WERE GOING OUT OF TOWN FOR THE HOLIDAYS & LEAVING OUR PETS IN THE HOUSE W/A PET SITTER. EVERYONE ONE ANSWERED ALL OF OUR QUESTIONS, IF THEY DIDN'T KNOW THE ANSWER THEY DIDN'T TRY TO MAKE ONE UP. THEY WOULD FIND THE RIGHT ANSWER & CALL US BACK. WE NEVER FELT LIKE THEY WERE TRYING TO SELL US SOMETHING EXTRA. I FEEL LIKE AIR-TROL WENT ABOVE & BEYOND WHAT THEY NEEDED TO IN ORDER TO MAKES US HAPPY & TO GET THE JOB D/RIGHT. WOULD RECOMMENT THEM.

I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH SERVICE. COULD NOT PERFORM WORK BECAUSE THE HAD TO ORDER A PART,($620 PLUS $35 NON STOCKING FEE). I CALLED BROAD RIPPLE HEATING AND THEY CAME OUT IN A FEW HOURS, WITH THE PART AND CHARGED ONLY $485. NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE.
Description of Work: FURNACE WENT OUT. CALLED ARS EXPRESS TO FIX. NO HEAT. THEY CAME NEXT DAY AT 9:00 AM. SAID I NEEDED NEW GAS INDUCER MOTOR, COST $620 PLUS $35 NON STOCKING FEE. WHAT COULD I DO BUT ORDER THE PART, EVEN THOUGH I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL MON OR TUES WHEN PART CAME IN. DECIDED TO CALL BROAD RIPPLE HEATING, WHO RESPONDED QUICKLY AND FIXED PROBLEM. IT WAS 50 DEGREES IN THE HOUSE.

ARS ALSO HAS FLAT RATE PRICING, WHICH MEANS THAT THE PART AND LABOR ARE INCLUDED IN ONE PRICE. WE ALSO GIVE THE CUSTOMER THE OPTION TO ACCEPT OR DENY THE CHARGES. THE CONTACT PERSON, JOHN, WAS POLITE AND PROFESSIONAL. HE QUOTED A ROCK BOTTOM PRICE OF $4768 AND WOULDN'T ALLOW THE USE OF THE YELLOW PAGES COUPON. HE STATED THE QUOTE ALREADY INCLUDED A $400 DISCOUNT. HE ORIGINALLY STATED THE JOB WOULD TAKE 1 1/2 DAYS. I LATER FOUND OUT THAT THEY DOUBLED THE LABOR AND FINISHED IN 1 DAY. I WAS NOT HOME WHILE THE WORK WAS BEING PERFORMED AND NO ONE CALLED TO STATE THE WORK WAS COMPLETED. I WAS TOLD THE COST COULD INCREASE (AS MUCH AS $1000) DEPENDING ON THE CONDITION OF THE LINE FROM SIDEWALK TO CITY. NO ADDITIONAL WORK WAS NEEDED. NO ADDITIONAL CHARGES ABOVE THE ALREADY STEEP PRICE WERE INCURRED. IN 2004, ARS QUOTED $4950 FOR A LESS INVASIVE LINE REPLACEMENT. THE COMPANY WAS A PLEASURE TO WORK WITH BUT THE PRICE ALONE WILL DETER MY FRIENDS FROM USING ARS FOR THIS TYPE OF WORK. I WOULD HAVE CONTINUED TO SHOP AROUND IF I HAD THE TIME. I WAS DISAPPOINTED THAT THEY DIDN'T ALLOW ME TO USE THEIR COMPANY COUPON AFTER THEY QUOTED THE PRICE.
Description of Work: SEWER LINE REPLACEMENT FROM HOUSE TO CITY. PHONED ARS ON FRIDAY AND A REPRESENTATIVE CAME OUT ON SATURDAY MORNING. HE BRIEFLY RAN CAMERA BUT COULDN'T PROVIDE A LOT OF INFO BECAUSE OF A BLOCKAGE/WATER IN LINE. (A PREVIOUS ARS REP WAS ABLE TO PROVIDE MORE DETAIL AFTER LINE WAS SNAKED.) HE GAVE OPTIONS AND DIDN'T RECOMMEND PARTIAL REPLACEMENT OF LINE (PREVIOUS REP QUOTED $1300 FOR PARTIAL LINE REPLACEMENT). SOMEONE WAS OUT TO MARK THE UTILITY LINES ON THE SAME DAY. THE EXCAVATION WORK BEGAN ON MONDAY AND THEY REPLACED APPROXIMATELY 40' OF CLAY WITH 4" PVC SEWER PIPE AND SLEEVED PIPE UNDER SIDEWALK. JOB WAS COMPLETED IN 1 DAY.

I WAS SATISFIED WITH THE REPRESENTATIVE AND WITH THE INSTALLERS. THEY WERE ON TIME. I FELT THEY WERE A BIT OVERPRICED. I LIVE IN A NICE HOME AND AM A RETIRED PROFESSIONAL. I HAD WANTED A 90+ ENERGY MODEL, BUT WE WERE UNABLE TO SATISFACTORILY ARRANGE FOR THE PVC LINES...THEY DID TRY AND BROUGHT OUT THEIR TOP GUN TO SEE IF THERE WAS A WAY TO MAKE IT WORK.

Description of Work: WE HAD CALLED FOR A SECOND OPINION ON THE COMPANY WE USUALLY USED (WHICH RECOMMENDED A NEW FURNACE.) THE TECH LOOKED IN WITH A FLASHLIGHT, AND ALSO RECOMMENDED A NEW FURNACE AT A HIGHER PRICE THAN THE FIRST COMPANY. AFTER SOME NEGOTIATING, THEY AGREED TO REPLACE THE FURNACE FOR $100 LESS THAN OUR PREVIOUS BID. WHEN ASKED ABOUT A WARRANTY ON OUR FURNACE (LESS THAN 12 YEARS OLD,) WE WERE TOLD IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE THIRD COMPANY WE HAD LOOK AT IT, AFTER DISASSEMBLING VARIOUS PARTS, FOUND THE HEAT EXCHANGER WAS UNDER WARRANTY.

HE WAS VERY THOROUGH AND KNOWLEDGEABLE AND EXPLAINED THE DIFFERENT OPTIONS AVAILABLE. HE DIDN'T TRY TO SELL ME THE MOST EXPENSIVE OPTION. HE WAS RESPECTFUL AND COURTEOUS. RODNEY AND CHRIS WHO CAME OUT TO INSTALL WERE THERE ON TIME AT 8:30AM AND WORKED STRAIGHT THROUGH UNTIL THE JOB WAS FINISHED AT 3. RODNEY ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS AND THEY BOTH WORE BOOTIES AND PUT DOWN CANVAS TO PROTECT MY FLOORING. AFTERWARDS, TIM CALLED AND IS PLANNING TO COME BY MY PLACE TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS AS IT SHOULD BE. I AM VERY IMPRESSED WITH THIS COMPANY AND THE EXCELLENT SERVICE THEY PROVIDE!

WHERE TO BEGIN. FIRST, ARS GAVE ME A QUOTE TO CLEAN THE DRAIN, TO WHICH I AGREED. AFTER I LEFT FOR WORK, THE PLUMBER TOLD MY WIFE THAT SHE NEEDED TO SIGN FOR AN ADDITIONAL FEE, NEARLY $100 DOLLARS. AFTER A CALL FOR CLARIFICATION, I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD GET BACK TO ME. A MONTH HAS PASSED, I HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING, AND THEY RECENTLY CASHED THE CHECK. SECONDLY, ARS WASN'T ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY SNAKE THE DRAIN. I WAS GIVEN A FREE CAMERA INSPECTION, WHERE I WAS TOLD I WOULD NEED A NEW MAIN LINE INSTALLED. THEY QUOTED ME A PRICE OF $12,000.00. FORTUNATELY, I CALLED ANOTHER COMPANY. THEY WERE ABLE TO SUCCESSFULLY CLEAR THE LINE FOR UNDER $200.00. I SHOULD HAVE CALLED THIS OTHER COMPANY FIRST.

THE CHARGES IN QUESTION HAVE BEEN REFUNDED TO THE CUSTOMER ON OCTOBER 21, 2004. I ALSO LEFT A MESSAGE ON THE CUSTOMER''S CELL PHONE AND I MAILED A CONTACT LETTER ON SEPTEMBER 28, 2005. EVEN THOUGH HE DID NOT RESPOND TO MY CALL OR MY LETTER I STILL REFUNDED THE MONEY AND TOOK CARE OF THE ISSUE AT HAND. IF HE DOES HAVE ANY MORE QUESTIONS OR CONCERNS HE IS MORE THAN HAPPY TO CONTACT ME AGAIN. WE HOPE THAT THIS MATTER IS RESOLVED.

THE TECH, WAYNE, WAS VERY PLEASANT AND HELPFUL AND HE SHOWED ON TIME. HOWEVER, THE PRICE ESTIMATES HE PROVIDED US WERE EXTREMELY HIGH. THE ESTIMATE WAS $175 TO REPLACE A FAULTY FAUCET CARTRIDGE AND $175 TO REPLACE THE WAX SEAL ON A TOILET. WHEN I TOLD WAYNE THAT WAS TOO MUCH FOR US, HE TOLD ME ABOUT A $20 TOOL I COULD USE TO PULL OUT THE BROKEN MOEN FAUCET CARTRIDGE AND WHICH CARTRIDGE TO BUY. I ENDED UP DOING BOTH REPAIRS MYSELF IN A LITTLE OVER AN HOUR OF WORK AND FOR $50 IN SUPPLIES. ARS CHARGES A $49 SERVICE FEE JUST FOR COMING OUT. WE WANTED SOMEONE TO COME OUT ON SATURDAY FOR A NON-EMERGENCY SERVICE, AND UNFORTUNATELY THERE WERE NOT MANY OPTIONS. HOWEVER, IN THE FUTURE, I WOULD BE VERY HESITANT TO CALL THEM, BECAUSE THEIR ESTIMATES WERE SO HIGH AND THE MANDATORY SERVICE CALL CHARGE.
Description of Work: WE GOT AN ESTIMATE TO HAVE THE WAX SEAL REPLACED ON OUR TOILET AND FIX A LEAKING BATHTUB FAUCET (THE CARTRIDGE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.)

THE WORK WAS EFFICIENTLY DONE, THE SERVICE PERSON WAS PLEASANT. HE ARRIVED LATER THAN PROJECTED, BUT GAVE ME THE FORMS TO $50 FOR BEING LATE. I AM WAITING FOR THE REFUND, IT SEEMS TO HAVE GOTTEN LOST IN THE MAIL. I HAVE TO WAIT 90 DAYS BEFORE THEY WILL REISSUE THE CHECK.

THE LADY WHO DEALT WITH ME ACCOMMODATED MY REQUEST AND MANAGED TO GET THE FURNACE CHECKED THE DAY AFTER WE MOVED IN. THE ENGINEER WHO CAME WAS FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL AND RANG AHEAD TO LET ME KNOW WHAT TIME HE WOULD BE THERE. HE ARRIVED WITHIN THE AGREED TIME AND COMPLETED THE WORK EFFICIENTLY. HE THEN LEFT ME WITH A WRITTEN REPORT OF THE SERVICE WORK COMPLETED. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE.
