ARS / Rescue Rooter Indiana

We have used ARS service for a number of things both for our home and for rental property we own and have always been satisfied. We receive a thorough and accurate estimate, the people who do the work have always been courteous, the appliance installed has always worked properly, and the work area was always cleaned up well. We have never had a negative experience.

I called for help in the morning and was given a choice of a morning or late evening appointment. I chose the evening appointment and the tech came as scheduled. He was professional, interested in my problem and went right to work. After he was finished he cleaned up and advised me to keep the cabinet doors under the sink open until it dried out. The cost was $125.00 which I thought was reasonable. The job was completed within an hour. There was a problem with the dishwasher not working properly so I called this morning to have someone come out to fix a problem. They sent someone out to fix it free of charge. He was here a little while but did a good job.

Very well - the guys did the work the same day they diagnosed the problem with my old furnace (on the same day we got a foot of snow!). They also did extra work on the pipes/vents going out of the furnace to make sure everything was done correctly. The service people were very nice and cleaned up and hauled off the old furnace.

They were $200 cheaper than another estimate I got.

Arrived on time as promised. Work completed. No mess left.

We came home from work to find our home at 56 degrees. We called and left a message for help. We have a service contract with Air-Trol, which meant that we were bumped to the head of the evening's jobs and didn't pay extra for after-hours/emergency work. Scott was polite and informative. He worked hard to diagnose the problem, then made a special trip to Air-Trol to pick-up a new circuit panel. His boss came to unlock the building late at night. Scott quickly came back and made the repairs. They made sure we had heat on a night where the temperatures outside dropped below 0 degrees. We were very please with the work and Scott's professional service.

Ron showed up a few minutes late after passing our road. He was courteous and professional, though not necessarily friendly. He was there to do his job, and he did. He examined our existing system, took a few measurements, and gave us an estimate on replacing our furnace and some ductwork. Their prices were competitive, but we went with another company because we got a more reliable furnace (repair history-wise) for the same price.

Technician checked out the system, found a broken fuse and replaced it. He monitored the system for 30 minutes, found that the unit was tripping and made some adjustments to prevent this from happening. Checked on the humidifier and properly set the unit. Very thorough job overall. We used an Angie's List coupon and only needed to pay for the fuse.

These guys are great. They did such a great job cleaning our heat pump. They even duct taped all the seams to prevent leaks and repaired some torn insulation. No other company has performed this level of service.

Not only did Air-Trol give me a very competitive bid on the project, they also were able to schedule a crew on site at noon on the start date. The project required another company to remove the old duct work first, and having Air-Trol's crew follow them in on a cold January day was essential. Moreover, they did quality work, had the furnace working well enough to keep the essentials warm by the day's end, and finished the job the following day by 2:30 pm.

After what seemed like weeks of rain, rain, rain, we woke up to water in areas of of basement. We have experienced this before when it's unusually wet outside, but generally, the water will flow into our two floor drains. This time, nothing was going down. We called ARS, and Mr. March arrived within 2 hours. He was great. Very helpful and worked hard to deal with a plumbing arrangement that he said was not installed as efficiently as it could have been. Getting to the problem was a challenge, which he admitted, but flatly stated that he wouldn't leave without getting to it. He did and we're back to using the basement, which is a big deal because we use every inch of it.

Our furnace died on a Sunday and they came out Monday to fix it. They were very prompt and professional.

The plumber was friendly and knowledgeable. It made a large mess all over our basement floors and walls. The job took two hours and the $400 was after a 15 percent off Angie's List coupon.

I was very happy with the crew and the work they performed. The crew was very careful in our lawn. They put the dirt on tarps to protect the grass. When the crew was finished, the dirt was mounded nicely where the trench had been and the rest of the yard was the same as it was before. I was not happy with our sales rep., Ron Blevins, though. At first he seemed knowledgeable and helpful, but as soon as they started digging the estimate went through the roof. I felt Ron was taking advantage of us as first-time homeowners. I voiced my concerns with him repeatedly and he did take one unnecessary charge off our bill. We only found out the charge was unnecessary, though, because we asked a different plumbing company for their opinion. I couldn't find one similar job on Angie's List that cost half as much as our job ended up costing. I know it's hard to compare without knowing all the circumstances, but I still feel I was being taken advantage of by the company.

Initial call was to emergency number. Steve returned our page promptly. After discussion to determine there was no immediate CO2 or fire danger he arranged to come over by 7:00 AM. He was knowledgeable and thorough. He explained blower motor problem and effect on heat exchanger cells. The cells needed to be ordered and required a second visit two days later. On second visit he completed the work promptly, again explaining the work and showing me the old parts with the cracks. He had a good demeanor in how he communicated. I can't really comment on the price being good or bad. They do our semi-annual maintenance and we got a break on the cost, but I have nothing to compare it to.

They came at 6 pm on short notice and were very helpful and I would recommend them. They were a little pricey but I was happy to pay it!

An employee came out and sat for 2 hours trying to clean out the drain. He said he couldn't get it done and needed to come back and run a camera through the line to know where it was blocked. Was not able to wait because sewage was backing up into the kitchen sink. Had another contractor come out and they were able to fix the problem. This company did not do the job and they charged us just the same. We asked for a refund since they were not able to complete the job and they were very rude, unprofessional and lacked customer service. Don't think it was our fault that the company could not get the job done. Would not recommend them to anyone.

The technician showed up on time and started cleaning. He showed me the heat exchanger was full of rust except where I had cleaned it out earlier in the month with my shop vac. When he pulled out the burners, he showed me the ends were burned/rusted off about an inch before the end. He vacuumed out about 3 pounds of rust from the heat exchanger. He inspected the exchanger and said that he couldn't find any holes, but there would have to be one somewhere with all of the rust. He gave me the cost of repairs on the burner (about $462 + labor) and told me again there was a good chance there was a hole in the exchanger. I decided on buying a new furnace at that point. At every step I was shown what was happening and was educated on furnace safety. Even though the result was not what I wanted, I felt very well taken care of.

Saturday night after a 10 person family dinner the kitchen drain became stopped up leaving a dishwasher full, pans everywhere and we couldn't wait until Monday. I called this company Sunday morning after checking Angie's List. Although they wouldn't give phone estimates they agreed to come between 10:00 and 11:00am Sunday. A fine young man, Shannon, arrived right on time quoted the price which I accepted and he proceeded to open the drain with the roto-rooter. Since I had had trouble with this drain before I asked him if the roto-rooter completely cleaned the drain or just punched a hole in whatever was clogging it. He said the only way to completely clean the drain was with a high pressure water jet. He quoted an additional price for that and I told him to do it. Unfortunately his equipment broke down but he said he could get it repaired and be back Monday. He came back midmorning Monday and finished the job which carried a 6 months guarantee. Every bit of a mess was cleaned up.

Service call went great. After the serviceman found the problem, he gave me the option of getting a new thermostat myself and installing with instructions on what to do, or to have him provide and install. I decided to purchase and change it myself, which saved me $159.00. I really appreciated the option. I will definitely call Air Trol again and refer them to family and friends.

I think the price was fair and the work was performed in a prompt and professional manner.

There was no way I was going to go with them. When I asked for a quote they gave me $925. When I asked how long that would take he said about 3 hours. I asked if they normally charge over $300/hr for work and all I got was that is what the book says. The tech also seemed kind of condescending and didn't approve of the attitude I was getting.

I called the company and asked them to come fix my thermostat. The workman was expected to be there at 8:00 Thursday morning, since it was nearly 9:00 and he wasn't there, we rescheduled to Friday morning and he was right on time that day - although it meant going without heat for another day. When he arrived, he did a quick diagnostic and discovered that the thermostat was broken. When I told him I had just had it installed less than a year ago, he suggested I call the company that installed it because it should be under warranty. He politely waited while I called the other company. When it turned out that they would cover replacing the thermostat, the Air Trol technician packed up his gear and left. He charged me a trip charge, but gladly gave me the Angie's List discount. Very professional and friendly. The time and scheduling was a bit of a frustration - but I've used them before and they've always been prompt. I assume it was a one-time thing. Will use them again.

Very well. The 2 men were courteous and professional. They were in my home for over 5 hours total, but were unobtrusive and as quiet as they could be. They left no mess. We had a coupon for the air duct cleaning for $200 off.
