They were very expensive. If I had to do my whole house I would of probably shopped around. They left my drain open in my yard for quite some time during the winter and they had some emergencies but I really thought they could of filled it in a faster. It rained and rain water got down in the trench they dug and then it seeped through my foundation and into my basement. I think they came when they said they would. I think there was a few days they didn't show up. They were okay. My main complaint was just that they left the drain open for to long.

Very well, although my furnace does make an odd noise when it runs, and the heat lamps in my work shop are coming on when I'd rather have them shut off. I can't do much of this on my own due to health issues. All in all though a successful installation.

Terrible! I've been an ARS customer for 12 years, and have never had this kind of problem before. First, I called because my dishwasher wasn't draining. They sent a novice apprentice out who said the kitchen sink wasn't clogged. He didn't snake the drain or do anything but turn the water faucet on. Next, I ordered a brand new dishwasher (because after the ARS service call, I thought the problem was not the plumbing); however, when the Best Buy guys installed it they found that it WAS the plumbing! The hose from the dishwasher to the sink was clogged, and they replaced it. This was an $ 800 dishwasher that I didn't really need! ARGH. But that wasn't the end of my problems. The new dishwasher hose pulled off the disposal and started a slow leak, so I called ARS (again), and they sent a different guy out to fix it. He put some black tape around it, but within a couple of days, it came off again. He came back out and put a metal ring around it. Still leaking! Fed up with ARS, I called Service Plus Now, and their guy heated the hose which immediately secured it. No more leak. I don't know what's going on at ARS with hiring, but training is severely lacking! I also just called for my annual HVAC check up, and although the young man was really nice and seemed knowledgeable, he forgot to CYCLE the system when he was done. We woke up the next morning to a freezing cold house (62 degrees inside) and we couldn't get the furnace to kick on. Again, I called Service Plus Now, and they sent a tech out who took one look at the furnace and solved the problem. The ARS guy had forgotten to turn the gas back on!!! Unbelieveable. He circled the line on the invoice that said he checked the system before he left, but obviously he forgot, and again it cost me money because I had to pay the other company for a service call. Very disappointing.

the annual cleaning went fine just double check on any thing one of their service people says needs to be done.
Description of Work: THIS COMPANY been our furnace company for more than 15 years we pay for winter and summer service. over the years they have told us of repairs to be done and sold us new furnaces (we have two but one air conditioner) and an air conditioner. A year ago the service man tried to convince me some work needed to be done while something else was being done; that would be cheaper i refused. This year the serviceman came up with $2,500 worth of work so i thought about a new furnace and decided to get but had a second company look No work needed i also had the ARS plumber look into a problem and give us an estimate; he did for $2,000 plus. Another comp said $490.

I had invited several companies to come out because I wanted a specific brand that fit our needs. This was the last company to come out. The guy was nice and I told him what I wanted and I was specific that I wanted to stay away from Carrier with what had happened in Indy with the plant. He proceeded to talk about how they had talked with Carrier and all the good things they were doing to help out the employees. Basically all I am hearing is Carrier sales are tanking and they are offering major incentives to sell their product. I wasn't sold and told him what I want. He said ok and said would be in touch. Professional and doing his job of probably what his sales manager was telling him to do....however....never heard back nor received any kind of quote for about $15k...won't ever be dealing with this company again if they can't even follow up with a sales call and my reason for giving a failing grade. (The other companies that I called upon were all quick to respond within 2 days with varying levels of quotes and followup).

The serviceman (Mike) was aloof. Before he even asked me any questions, he said it looks like a clog somewhere underneath the property. He recommended using the video snake to locate the problem. I had been quoted a similar service before, and it was north of $200. I told him no, that this was a mildly frequent occurrence and told him it was roots in the line and that it just needed rootering. He handed me a service invoice for around $215, even after I told the dispatcher of the $88 promo on their website (thx to another review I read on this site). After I informed the technician of the same promo, he snapped '103', which meant $103 (88 dollars plus tax). He then turned away and walked to his truck to start unloading the equipment, with me holding the clipboard. He walked back up and asked if I had signed the invoice yet. I told him I was not going to sign it until he updated the invoice to reflect the $103. He updated it and I signed. He went to work. At one point he opened the door to my home and kind of shouted for us to flush some toilets. I found this a bit rude as I didn't offer for him to enter/exit my home at any point, nor did he ask in advance. He fixed the clog, and much to my surprise, scoped the line anyway. He asked me to look at the video, where he showed me the line had separated at a joint, was now uneven, and a large root was obscuring some of the line. During this exchange, the technician was much more courteous and polite. He wanted to setup an appoint for a plumber to come inspect and give me a quote to fix the problem. Given that they tried to charge me double their advertised rate for the rooter svc, I declined and will be calling other companies for quotes.

Our house didn't need repairs; our next-door neighbors' did. They hired ARS and the team knocked on our door saying the sewer lines were tied together in our front yard and they would need to dig a 7 ft. hole in our yard. Fair enough, old homes have these quirks, but the communication from there on was extremely poor. When I tried to ensure we wouldn't have to pay for anything, some of the workers said correct, some said they didn't know; it depended on what they found when they got down to the pipe. The lead on the job said they might have to replace the line out to the street, for which our neighbor and I would have to split the costs - up to $14,000! It seemed unreasonable for them to say we would "have" to pay for anything, since IF that pipe turned up broken, it should be up to us and our neighbors on what has to be done and who should pay what. It seemed unlikely that anything was wrong though since our water was draining fine. After leaving the hole over the weekend, they finished up the following Tuesday, promising to return to reseed much of the yard that had been torn up. No one came for two days and I had to call multiple times (despite not being a client myself) to get someone back to seed. That happened 5 days after the last work was done. I would never hire this team myself.

I called ARS on 5/4/16 because my "3rd in 9 years" Honeywell VisionPro 8000 Series thermostat stopped working. The touchscreen locked up. ARS installed the thermostat along with my new AC unit I purchased from them in 2007. I called to inquire about the warranty on the thermostat due to the fact it was replaced before on warranty. I didn't want to pay $89.00 for a service call only to be told by a technician it was not under warranty. ARS lead me to believe that I wouldn't have a service call fee. I scheduled the service appointment. The technician informed me that my thermostat WAS NOT under warranty & that a new Honeywell thermostat would cost me $589.00, however, if I purchased the Home Service Plan for $160.55, the price of the thermostat would be $530.10 for a total of $749.55. I told the technician the prices quoted from ARS were just simply outrageously inflated & definitely an example of price gouging. I declined the repair, however, I still had to pay the $89.00 service call fee. I was extremely upset about paying $89.00 for NOTHING. That is exactly what I didn't want to happen, thus the reason for my questions to ARS when I initially called. I did talk with the technician asking him to please pass along to ARS the following; if the person scheduling the appt. is not fully knowledgeable about product/service warranties, then they should not mislead the customer, that consumers are intelligent & very informed about product pricing (Amazon's pricing fort the same thermostat was a low of $125.00 to a high of $175.00). I reminded the technician that I purchased my AC unit from ARS, that makes me their customer. Well, they just lost this customer & will not recommend ARS to family, friends, or neighbors. My furnace is 17 years old, & when I need a new one, I WILL NOT be buying it from ARS!

Our air conditioner quit a week ago (condenser blew). Our unit was still under warranty so ARS ordered the new part. It was sweldering in our house and after almost a week, I called to get a status on when the part would be in. Eric from ARS checked with the distributor and called me back and told me it would be 2 weeks for the part to arrive.... It was getting extremely hot outside and even hotter in our house. Eric worked with his people and called me back and said they were sending someone out within an hour or so to replace the whole AC unit instead of us having to wait 2 more weeks. Eric was OUTSTANDING....... I understand that he and Everett worked together to make this happen and we so want to thank them both. I've been getting very frustrated with ARS over the past few years, but this is exactly the kind of service we used to receive from ARS for several years. Thank you Eric & Everett for doing the right thing...................Kudos.........Kudos.........Kudos....... ARS -- Keep improving and you'll be back on top. GREAT JOB!!

I was in a bind because it was the hottest day of the year and I needed relief so I was vulnerable. I was told that if I replaced the A/C, I'd have to replace the furnace as well (due to age, warranty issues, etc.) I did research the equipment they wanted to install and asked a home inspector that I know personally for his opinion. It is a good, reliable, rather state-of-the-art unit that may be more than I need but, as I said, I was vulnerable, so I said go ahead and install it. I had no complaints (except for the price) until a few months later when I smelled gas. I evacuated the pets and called the gas company whose tech reported that the pipes were not properly tightened and had loosened over the intervening months, allowing gaps to form and gas to escape. She was very shaken by this, as was I. Between the time of installation and this incident, an ARS technician had done a "tune-up" and had not even noticed this problem. I called ARS to report this and their response was shockingly disingenuous. I was transferred several times to "dispatchers" who blandly asked if I was calling to schedule a service call. No, I said. My house nearly blew up thanks to your technicians' incompetency! I demanded and eventually received a call back from a higher-up who also pretended to misunderstand the gravity of the situation. No apology or solution was offered so I asked that the technicians who'd worked on the unit be banned from ever coming to my house again and suggested some retraining would be appropriate.
Description of Work: My A/C broke on the hottest day of 2015. Vendor sent a salesman out immediately who determined I needed an entirely new HVAC system.

Toilet was clogged. Tech could not get it out. So no charge. I still have credit for future service call that I bought on previous special. I called another plumbing company who had no trouble getting the toilet clog removed.
