I liked the repairman but the compressor was dead so he gave me an estimation new unit. They installed the same day. The system is working fine. They send a gift basket, so I figured that means spend way too much. But the system does work well.

They found out that the drain running to the city sewer has a dip in it. They said we need to keep an eye on it. If it continues to back up every eight to ten weeks it would need to be dug up and replaced. I was very satisfied with this company and I would recommend them to others.
Description of Work: They cleaned the drains last week and came back today with a camera to check to see if their was another problem.

They did really good because I was out of town for work and my wife was here. The technician figured out what the problem was and they explained exactly what needed to be done. He didn’t have the stuff that he needed in the truck; so we had to let it go over night. He came back in the morning, and what I thought was going to be a job that took all day, he did it in 2 hours. He finished it and it works great. The drain is draining but not into the house and their customer service was great. It seems that the repair was made properly and the timing was really good. Their price was average.
Description of Work: We regularly use ARS / Rescue Rooter Indiana for our plumbing work. The last time they came was about 3 weeks ago. We had a drain line that broke and they came out and took care of it.

Let me start by saying I just purchased my home a couple weeks ago and since it's my first home I know nothing about a lot of things in regards to how things work or what happens with what. This information is necessary because the questions I have are differnet then a customer who has had previous experience. At this time the house is empty as we're working on it this is the reason we're not at the house all the time. Originally had an appointment for all day 5/10 that I had requested an afternoon appt due to needing to get to the house. Call received around noon to which I was not at location so had to skip it with intent that I would receive service later that day to which I didn't have a problem. Got a call around 5:00 that due to other people not having a/c I was being bumped they had my appt down wrong stating all I had was a leak when I didn't even have a thermestat to work the a/c. After a heated phone call to which I was extremely frustrated because I wasn't available to next day I set an appt for 5/12 between 12-1 getting a firmer time. On 5/12 the tech was right on time actually beating us to the house. He was able to provide different options for the thermestat so that it could be installed. Everything checked out with the a/c for the most part just had to replace almost a pound of freeon. The tech was very thorough to which I was grateful. He showed me where the furnace filter was & advised what size I needed to buy making sure I understood how to install it when I got the new one. He explained everything in a manner that I could understand taking time to answer all my questions to which I had alot of them. The tech also didn't talk down to me just because I'm a woman or try to pat me on the head like some will do. He approached me as an equal I really appreciate that. I purchased the service plan so I will be using this company again. The tech didn't try to sell me anything that I wasn't aware of as I already know my furnace and a/c are to small for the space but I can't afford to replace at this time. How the company handles my business right now will determine the replacement of the a/c & furnace. I was completely satisfied but with my experience with the tech. If it wasn't for what had happened on the 10th I wouldv'e give A's across, The only complaint I had was the tech kept tripping the security alarm when we were trying to fix it causing delays in figuring that situation out.

The service man called to tell us he was on the way and then spent 9 hours working steadily without even a lunch break to make sure it was working perfectly. Amazing!

A fine, nearly hassle free experience.
Description of Work: ARS had warned me two or three years ago that my unit would need to be replaced. When I could no longer put it off, they made arrangements to come out on a day I stipulated (rainless). They installed the unit with little fuss or muss. A few weeks later, I detected a leak. The company promptly sent someone out to fix it. At all times, the individuals with whom I dealt struck me as knowledgeable and professional. I was especially impressed with the gentleman who call and spoke with me about finding a unit I could afford. I am so pleased with the service I received from ARS.

Service was scheduled to be done between 2 and 3 o'clock on 5/27/11. I was called at 2:30. The woman informed me , "You are scheduled for service between 2 and 3 today. I just want to let you know our servicemen are running 3 HOURS late because of having to slosh through the water. We will give you an option to reschedule or have the service done later today." I told her I wanted neither - that I should have been called earlier if they were running that far behind. This type of delay in services is unacceptable without notifying the client earlier. I had scheduled my day to be home during the time ARS had told me they would be there. I have plans later in the day and do not think it appropriate that I have to schedule another day without ARS informing me earlier in the day. I do not mind when there is a short delay but 3 hours is unacceptable. I have used this company for years but will now consult Angies List to find a company which provides better service.

5/31/11 RE: MEMBER Service Date 5/27/11 Dear Angie’s List Representative and member: First and foremost, I would like to apologize to the member for the inconvenience we caused with our 2.30 pm call when she was scheduled for service between 2 pm and 3 pm letting her know we were running late for the day. It is our policy and practice to make courtesy calls to our customers as early as possible if we find that we are running behind with the daily scheduled calls. This was a very unfortunate situation where we were in the wrong for making the call a half hour into the scheduled window. It was an oversight and error on our part and we will not make any excuses for it. We were running one to two hours behind when we did make the call and we were in hopes the member would understand the situation with the number of customers who were experiencing no cooling in their home. The member is an important customer to us. We definitely don’t want to loose her. We can’t change what occurred on Friday 5/27/11, but we can definitely move forward with a lesson learned from this experience. We are making internal changes to ensure late courtesy calls are made prior to the beginning of the scheduled appointment window. In moving forward with this experience, we would like to offer the member a 1 year Standard Home Service Plan. This home service plan has a value of $169.00. The plan includes one (1) annual furnace and one (1) annual air conditioning tune-up and inspection. Along with additional discounts on diagnostic fees, service repairs and equipment replacement or indoor air quality products. We also offer a Dandy rewards program with the home service plan. We will be mailing the member a confirmation letter of her home service plan along with the plan benefits for review. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience. We used them on maintenance agreement, and if something breaks then we use them to replace. We have used them for a number of things, and maintenance was a part of it. We have used them in our old house, and brought them here to install the heating & air conditioning unit. They will be out a week from today to do the air conditioning check-up.

I’ve used them for about 10 years. They purchased the heating and cooling company which I liked very much. They have maintained the quality which is very good. I had a lot of problems with the units and they fixed them all and it was still under warranty. It was a 10 year warranty that I got so this is the last year in fact. I was very happy as they continued to honor the warranty from the company I had bought. There was one guy who was trying to sell me something, but I don't want to penalize them for that. I would continue to use them in the future.

They bought the company that I was using before, Air Troll, but it seems that they kept the same people and I am getting the same service. They haven?t done anything that would make me want to change. They let me know when parts are getting worn and might need replacing soon and they tell me what to watch out for. I like that they didn't change their price when they switched the company over.

ARS and Bradford-White replaced the defective heater and gave me a 6 year replacement warranty for $60 plus the cost of installation. I was delighted. I had expected a pro rated replacement cost that would cover only a small percentage of thecost of the new heater. The plumber was very careful and courteous. Overall, an A+ experience.
Description of Work: Our 81/2 year old water heater began top leak. it had been installed by ARS and had a 10 year warranty. In checking prices among several companies I found that the 10 year warranty was for a full replacement, not including labor.

The service was quick, complete, and clean. Plumber arrived on time. He wore shoe covers and was very considerate of leaving a mess. There was a need for additional minor work after the estimate and he asked for approval before doing the additional work.

We have always been very pleased with ARS. They are always on time, are very neat and leave everything in good shape. We have used them so long, that we have had the same service rep come sometimes and they always tell us they have worked on our system before.
Description of Work: After a service rep did the semi-annual cleaning, he told me the compressor on the heat pump was not working. He had several options for its replacement and explained each one and also talked to my husband on the phone and explained everything to him. After we decided what we wanted, the rep called the ARS office to see when the work could be done. A crew was available that day and they did all the work by 4:00p.m. We were very pleased they were able to get all the work completed on one day.

They did a fine job. They were very courteous and timely, and wore shoe covers in and out of the house. They were satisfactory. They have done the yearly maintenance for the heat pump and also serviced our water heater. They replaced a heating element, and part of that was under warranty. We have a yearly contract where they come out to do the heat pump in the summer. We have had a contract with them for the last couple of years. I would recommend them and would use them again in the future.

Great, very nice. I really liked that I did not receive any pressure to buy two new heat pumps.
Description of Work: One of my heat pumps quit working. Chris checked both of my heat pumps and found that both were low on freon/puron and one needed a part replaced. He replaced the freon and the part and both are working. He also gave me an estimate to replace both units as they are old. But no pressure to do so.
