Their work is great, we have used ARS for many years, but the company needs to respond to its customers' concerns in a professional manner, and not ignore legitimate issues.
Description of Work: Replaced A/C. No problem with the work, but we are extremely disappointed with their customer service. A letter was sent to ARS on June 13 complaining about the short life of their previously installed A/C unit, and a follow-up call was made to their office weeks ago because there had been no response to the letter. The representative informed us that a manager would call to discuss. That has not happened. As of this date we have not been contacted by ARS regarding this matter. The company needs to formally address our concern.

He said that my AC capacitor was bad and that he'll fix it for $359. He then said that he didn't want to fix it, because if he would have fixed it there is no telling what else would go wrong. He suggested that I brought a whole new AC unit. That's funny, because they installed it in 2004. The woman I brought the house from has every receipt and they have been servicing it ever since they put it in, so basically, they don't know how long their parts last. That particular part was just replaced two years ago. At that time, I did not go down and look in the basement for the receipt, I didn't do that until afterwards. I called the customer service number because he spent less than three minutes at the AC unit. I have every record, receipt and everything she has ever gotten fixed in the house. It was discount because the previous owner had some type of plan with them that didn't run out yet. Basically, he refused to fix it. I just told him to fix it and put the new part in. I had someone come out and fix it for $75 and all it needed was that part. He said that they must offer the customer a part or new unit to make their money. I'm still waiting on the supervisor to give me a call back, and unfortunately, he's not going to do it. I'll be calling the Better Business Bureau. I will never use them again. There was one guy that came out. It took him less than three minutes. They didn't mess anything up, he didn't even go check the filter downstairs or do any of that. I knew that he was supposed to, but he didn't. They did nothing well in my opinion, they lie good. It seems like they took advantage of a previous owner, she was by herself too and shelled out thousands of dollars to them after going over the receipts. My first impression was okay, I thought he would be able to tell me what's really wrong, and he did, he just lied and told me I needed something I didn't.
Description of Work: My AC unit outside had went out, they were supposed to come check it to see what's wrong with it. He came out there, and was out there less than 3 minutes.

They were very responsive and able to replace the check valve and also replaced the water softener. I will say that "Enerbank", the company they use for financing, I would NOT recommend.
Description of Work: They fixed the check valve for the sump pump and also replaced the water softener. They were very efficient and professional. My basement was flooded because of the leaking check valve on the sump pump.

They turned out fine. I've had them for years. They just come out and do the work, and I have an annual maintenance with them, so it just comes out of my checking account. I would tell others that they are very professional and very punctual. The workers were fine. They left everything very clean.

I have a warranty on my unit with them because it's only about 5 years old, so I didn't have to pay. But I did have issues with someone coming out for the annual Spring inspection and the A/C wasn't working. He blamed it on my breaker box and I had to call an electrician, and it turned out that wasn't the problem. I ended up having like three different guys come out from ARS to finally get to the bottom of it. It turns out it was an issue with my unit outside, which they ended up replacing at no cost because of the warranty. It ended up that they handled everything just fine, but it was a hassle to go through like the three different service men to get it properly diagnosed and then having an electrician come out and all that. I've used them for years and would consider using them in the future.

When the problem first happened, I called ARS and they gave me a four hour window. At the end of the four hours the plumber had not shown up, but then he came about 2.5 hours later. He diagnosed the problem but said we had to schedule another time for the repair. That day I got another four hour window. The plumber did not show up during that four hour window and when I called I was told they did not know when he would show up. I have burned two vacation days for this and I am furious. Still cannot get an answer about when the plumber will show up.

They found that my furnace, though aging and showing wear, was in fact safe to operate. Because of their honesty - which cost them an immediate sale - when I do replace my furnace, I will be calling them.
Description of Work: I was getting an estimate for a new furnace, because I had been told my current furnace was unsafe. ARS offered to do a free inspection, to give me a second opinion so to speak.

They were not good and weren?t trustworthy. They messed with my furnace and it forced me to change the burner. It was ridiculous. I used them once and they messed me over. I would never use them again. In the process of testing it, he clearly cranked up the burner a lot higher than it should?ve been. He then said there was a crack in the furnace itself; therefore, it would need to be replaced. I told him I didn?t recall the burners looking like that or being that high before they came. I told him to put it back the way it was. He said that if he put it back the way it was it was going to cost me $50. He charged me for something he did to my furnace. At that point, I didn?t trust him.
Description of Work: They were testing and preparing my furnace.

The whole process start to finish was very smooth. I signed up on a Saturday and ARS was able to come out that Monday and provide the service. I got a confirmation call in the morning and then a call when they were on their way. Mike was our technician and he was very professional. He was able to figure out some things that were wrong with our unit from a previous maintenance. Along with the tune-up he had found our unit was low on freon and charged it. After his short visit our unit is running perfect and most importantly our home is cool. Through Mike's efforts I'm sure we've saved loads on our monthly electricity bills as well. Highly recommend ARS and Mike specifically.

Responsiveness from the tech was very slow. Couldn't get a final estimate for work. Went with another local plumbing company which did a fantastic job.
Description of Work: Main issues was to determine drain problem in the bathroom. Long standing problem with roots in the pipes under the house. To fix it right it required breaking up the cement floor in the bathroom, remove stool and sink, replacing a couple of lines under the house, fixing the floor back, and reinstalling the stool and sink cabinet.

Asst. Manager Solomon Crenshaw made the process painless and was VERY honest with rewriting the bid when it was found that my problem was not as severe as another company quoted. This saved me a substantial amount. All work was seamlessly coordinated and professionally completed. I am planning future bathroom remodels (2) and will absolutely hire them again. Their price was not the highest, nor the lowest but was competitive and an exceptional value. This is a company with integrity.
Description of Work: Rebuild of sewer lines, add 2 outdoor, ground level cleanouts. Rebuild of kitchen drains. Removed an old, non-working, water softener and capped lines.

I was not completely satisfied with the furnace or the follow up. I just wasn't happy with the whole unit. I wasn't happy with the installation. I wasn't happy with the follow up on it when I had problems or complaints. They did eventually fix it but it took multiple calls, even to the headquarters. The headquarter responsiveness was great. They were professional enough when they came out. They were courteous and professional.

They don't charge us anything, that's all with the Home Warranty. You pay them x amount of dollars, and you have a service fee and that's it. We didn't have any problems or issues. They were really good, they always call you when they are about 20 or 30 minutes away so if you are at work or somewhere you can be home. You don't have to be tied to your house for 4 hours like a lot of companies.

Better than expected. I set a few hours aside for this and Chris completed the work within minutes. He was very helpful, friendly, and professional. When I need plumbing in the future, I'll definitely call ARS and ask for Chris!

I have had them for a very long time. They do plumbing as well, but I don't use them for plumbing. They come twice a year. I am on a service contract with them so they do my A/C service before the air conditioning season and the heating service before the heating season once a year. I have been using them for a million years.
Description of Work: The only heating and cooling company I have used is ARS Rescue Rooter in Indianapolis. Several months ago I had the heater serviced to do just the normal maintenance to check it out to make sure it is going to be working for the winter.

Things did not go well. I got the call at 1:20 the tech was on his way. At 3:45 tech had not shown up. Called ARS office and was told tech takes the back roads. As a manager I would not tolerate this. Not getting much productivity from someone who takes 90 minutes to get somewhere. He arrived at 3:50. Tech asked if I had install manual for thermostat as he needed directions. Shouldn't a senior tech be familiar with thermostats? If not, how about accessing a manual online. Tech left at 4:30 to get a part. Came back with wrong part. Tried to force it to work even though it had too many wires. Gave up at 7:30. Returned the next day at 4:30 with correct part. Couldn't get heat pump to start up. It's three and a half years old and under warranty. Tech stated unit may have shorted out but that warranty would be prorated and I'd be on the hook for a lot of money. Don't tell a customer that until you know for sure a system is shot. Finally the unit started up. I felt uneasy about the work that was done. Called ARS and asked to speak with a supervisor. He was in meeting and I was told I'd get a call back. Never did. I even filled out their online survey detailing my experience and still no call from a supervisor. ARS had previously given great service. Don't know if this was an aberration or glimpse of their future service quality. I had another contractor check out my system and work done. Everything was OK.

Very well. However, should have shopped around. They were way more expensive. Discovered the excessive price when I had a different contractor come out for a quote on a different plumbing repair. ARS quoted 4,500 on this whereas the other contractor came out and fixed the issue for 200 dollars. Really wish I called someone else for my sewer main. Would have saved thousands.

Went just fine. I only had to show up at the "job site" (my front lawn!) to sign some paperwork when the job was complete.
Description of Work: I had known for a few years that I needed to replace my main sewer line, leading from my home to the city sewer connection. I put it off, procrastinated and then, on the weekend of 2/25/17, it got so clogged that ARS could barely open it. They did, thank heavens! I decided right then to get the whole pipe replaced. ARS had the entire job done by noon on 3/1/17. The price was fair ($4,032) and the quality of the work is impeccable. I can recommend ARS with no problem and would gladly hire them again.
