FOR HVAC REPLACEMENT ASK FOR BOONE COY TO COME TO ASSESS YOUR HOUSE. HE WILL SHOW YOU HIS HVAC LICENSE (NOBODY ELSE DID). HE WAS AT MY HOUSE FOR 3 HOURS AND I AM NOT COMPLAINING! HE TOOK TIME TO EXPLAIN TO ME THE DIFFERENCES HOW COMPANIES MAKE THEIR PRODUCTS AND WARNED ME THAT TRANE WILL NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY UNLESS YOU HAVE A SERVICE CONTRACT. WE DID AN ADDITION; BROAD RIPPLE HVAC PUT IN A TRANE SYSTEM AND DID NOT MAKE A POINT OF THAT ISSUE. ANYWAY, HE MEASURED THE HOUSE, CHECKED OUT THE INSULATION, COUNTED WINDOWS AND SKYLIGHTS AND SPENT TIME FIGURING OUT WHAT WE NEED. HE SAID OUR CURRENT SYSTEM WAS TOO BIG AND THAT'S WHY 2 BEDROOMS WEREN'T GETTING HEATED VERY WELL. HE ANALYZED DIFFERENT PRODUCTS AND COSTS AND HOW LONG IT WOULD TAKE FOR EXTRAS TO PAY BACK. NO OTHER SALES PERSON WAS THAT THROUGH. THEY WROTE PROPOSALS FOR THE SAME SIZED SYSTEM! EVEN AFTER MEASURING! THE WORKMEN WERE CLEAN, ON-TIME AND WELL-MANNERED.
Description of Work: INSTALLED A "DUEL FUEL SYSTEM": NEW HEAT PUMP, 80% EFFICIENT FURNACE,ELECTRONIC FILTER AND NEW THERMOSTAT. ALSO ADDRESSED ISSUE OF NOISY AIR INTAKE DUCT FROM A SECOND SYSTEM (INSTALLED EARLIER, NOT BY ARS). ASSESSED OUR NEEDS AND TOLD US OUR CURRENT SYSTEM WAS TOO BIG. ADVISED US HOW WE COULD REDUCE THE AMOUNT OF TIME WE USE A GAS FURNACE AND SAVE CASH BY USING A HEAT PUMP DOWN TO 32 DEGREES AND THE GAS FURNACE AFTER THAT. SALESPERSON BOONE COY IS GREAT!

GOOD. WE HAD THREE BIDS ON THIS JOB AND THEY WERE ALL ABOUT THE SAME (PRICE WISE--ABOUT 13000), BUT AIR-TROL ASKED US THE MOST DETAILED QUESTIONS ABOUT WHAT WE WANTED OUT OF THE SYSTEM. THEY ALSO MANAGED TO USE THE MOST EFFICIENT SYSTEM FOR THE PRICE (WHICH WAS A MODERATE TO HIGH EFFICIENCY SYSTEM). THEY WERE PROMPT, POLITE AND CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES. THEY WERE RESPONSIVE ABOUT MOVING A DUCT WHEN I CALLED THEM BACK (IT NEEDED TO BE MOVED B/C OF FLOORING).
Description of Work: FIRST AND SECOND FLOOR ZONING OF AN EXISTING HOUSE AND NEW ADDITION. THIS INCLUDED RUNNING NEW DUCT WORK TO THE EXISTING SECOND FLOOR AND INSTALLING NEW SYSTEMS FOR THE ADDITION.

EVERY ONE OF THE SEVERAL EMPLOYEES OF ARS THAT I MET WAS FRIENDLY AND EFFICIENT. THEY EXPLAINED WHAT THEY WERE GOING TO DO AND ANSWERED WHATEVER QUESTIONS I HAD DURING THE ENTIRE 2-DAY PROCEDURE. I HAVE HAD MANY BAD EXPERIENCES OVER THE YEARS (BEFORE ANGIE'S LIST!) WITH HOME REPAIR SERVICES AND WAS THEREFORE LEERY GOING INTO THIS PROCESS, BUT EVERYTHING TURNED OUT GREAT. BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE, I HAVE NO HESITATION IN RECOMMENDING THE COMPANY FOR THIS TYPE OF WORK. INSTALLED MOP SINK IN BASEMENT.
Description of Work: REPLACED PART OF MAIN SEWER LINE AND INSTALLED AN OUTSIDE CLEAN-OUT ACCESS PIPE. USED "PIPE BURST" METHOD TO AVOID HAVING TO TRENCH THE ENTIRE SITE. THIS WAY ONLY ONE HOLE WAS NECESSARY, APPROXIMATELY 6'X 10'. PRIOR TO SIGNING THE CONTRACT THEY OFFERED FREE CAMERA INSPECTION OF THE SEWER LINE (A MAILED SPECIAL OFFER) THAT SHOWED MANY TREE ROOTS. I WATCHED AS THE INSPECTION WAS BEING DONE. OPTIONS PRESENTED WERE A SIMPLE CLEAN-OUT OR REPLACE THE AFFECTED PART OF THE LINE (ABOUT 50'). THERE WAS NO PRESSURE FROM THE SALESMAN TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE LINE SINCE THE ROOTS AFFECTED ONLY PART OF IT. SINCE THIS HAS BEEN A FREQUENTLY RECURRING PROBLEM OVER SEVERAL YEARS, I DECIDED ON A PERMANENT FIX INSTEAD OF CONTINUING TO HAVE THE LINE CLEANED 2-3 TIMES A YEAR. I DID NOT GET MULTIPLE ESTIMATES SINCE MOST COMPETITORS REQUIRE TRENCHING WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY DIFFICULT ON MY SMALL LOT.

WAYNE, THE PLUMBER, WAS EFFICIENT AND FRIENDLY. I DID NOT GET MULTIPLE ESTIMATES SINCE I ALREADY HAD THE COMPANY DOING A SEWER LINE REPLACEMENT FOR ME.
Description of Work: REPLACED GAS LINE AND PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE ON WATER HEATER. REPLACED IMPROPER GALVANIZED-TO-COPPER PIPE CONNECTIONS ON WATER HEATER AND LAUNDRY SUPPLY LINES. ADDED SHUTOFF VALVE TO WATER SUPPLY LEADING TO WATER HEATER. INSTALLED REPLACEMENT SHOWER ARM IN BATHROOM.

THE QUALITY OF WORK WAS HORRIBLE FOR SUCH A SMALL PROJECT. THEY FORGOT TO SCREW IN THE ELBOW AT THE PLENUM FOR THE NEW HEAT DUCT RUN, AND IT BLEW LOOSE WHEN THE A/C WAS TURNED ON AFTER THEY LEFT. THEY ALSO DID NOT CAULK AROUND ANY OF THE NEW PENETRATIONS.
Description of Work: AIR-TROL INSTALLED A NEW HEAT DUCT RUN AND A NEW COLD AIR RETURN IN MY BASEMENT.

CALLED BEFORE COMING TO SAY HE WAS ON HIS WAY. SERVICE WAS VERY THOROUGH. PERFORMED CONTRACTED FURNACE CLEANING AND ALSO SUGGESTED HUMIDIFIER SERVICE. HE FOUND A VALVE ON HUMIDIFIER THAT WAS POTENTIALLY GOING BAD BUT DID NOT SAY IT NEEDED REPLACING. HE GAVE AN ESTIMATE ON REPLACEMENT. HE WAS PROFESSIONAL, COURTEOUS AND LEFT AREA CLEAN AFTER WORK WAS COMPLETED. WOULD USE THEIR SERVICE AGAIN.

THE 2 RECEPTIONISTS I DEALT WITH WERE NICE, AND PROFESSIONAL. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH ARS BEFORE TALKING WITH A COMPETITOR. ARS WOULD NOT QUOTE ME A PRICE OVER THE PHONE ON HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST JUST TO DROP A CAMERA IN MY LINE. THE EARLIEST THEY COULD GET OUT WAS THE NEXT MORNING (I INITIALLY CALLED AT 10 AM). AFTER TALKING WITH THEIR COMPETITOR, AND FINDING OUT HOW MUCH THEY CHARGED, I CALLED BACK TO ASK THEM AGAIN HOW MUCH TO LOOK INSIDE MY SEWER MAIN LINE, QUOTING THE COMPETITIONS PRICE. THEY STILL WOULD NOT QUOTE ME A PRICE ON THE PHONE, SO I CANCELLED THE APPOINTMENT.
Description of Work: CALLED TO HAVE SOMEONE DROP A CAMERA DOWN MY LINE TO SEE WHAT WAS CAUSING MY SEWER PROBLEMS.

I HAVE USED THEM FOR MANY DIFFERENT SERVICES BECAUSE I HAVE A CONTRACT WITH THEM. ON THE DAY THAT I WAS GETTING THE A/C REPAIRED, THEY AGREED TO STAY AND CHECK TO FURNACE IN ORDER TO SAVE ME A TRIP. I HAD ALREADY SCHEDULED A FURNACE APPOINTMENT, BUT THEY WERE FLEXIBLE.

THE ORIGINAL QUOTE WAS FOR $6,800. THEY CUT A DEAL BECAUSE THEY HAD A CREW THAT WASN'T WORKING THAT WEEK. THE LOWEST I COULD FIND WAS A COMMERCIAL GUY DOING IT ON THE SIDE FOR $5K. AND ARS OFFERED GOOD FINANCING TERMS, ONE YEAR NO INTEREST NO PAYMENTS. THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL, EACH NIGHT THEY WOULD TAPE OFF THE AREA AND KEEP IT SAFE. THERE WAS ONLY ABOUT 2-3 HOURS OF DOWN TIME AS FAR AS SHUTTING OFF THE WATER TO THE BUILDING, OTHER THAN THAT, I NEVER REALLY HAD TO WASTE TIME DEALING WITH THEM, THEY WERE VERY SELF-SUFFICIENT.
Description of Work: I HAD TO REPLACE A SEWER LINE LEADING FROM THE APARTMENT BUILDING OUT TO THE CITY LINE IN THE ALLEY. 60 FEET OF CLAY TILE WAS REPLACED WITH 6 INCH PVC AND TIED IN ON BOTH ENDS. THEY HAD TO DIG 13 FEET DOWN, SINCE WE'RE ON A HILL TO ACCESS THE DRAIN.

MIKE WAS GREAT. HE CAME THE NIGHT THAT I CALLED. HE ADVISED ME ON WHAT MY OPTIONS WERE AND SAID THAT HE WOULD NOT CHARGE ME FOR THE THERMOCOUPLER OR ANOTHER SERVICE VISIT IF THE WATER HEATER WAS REPLACED. HE WAS PROMPT WITH HIS ARRIVAL AND REPLACED THE WATER HEATER IN A TIMELY FASHION. THE PRICE WAS A BIT HIGHER THAN EXPECTED; HOWEVER, ARS WAS WILLING TO COME AT ALL HOURS AND ON THE WEEKENDS, WHICH IS WHAT MY HUSBAND AND I NEEDED.

FROM THE FIRST PLUMBER WHO JUST CAME TO UNCLOG OUR TOILET, TO THE BACKHOE OPERATORS AND THE SUPERVISORS WHO STAYED IN CONTACT THROUGHOUT THE JOB, ARS SERVICE EXPRESS REALLY LIVED UP TO THEIR NAME. THEY HAD PROFESSIONAL, CAPABLE, AND CLEAN EMPLOYEES AND IMPORTANTLY, THEY HAD EVERY TYPE OF EMPLOYEE, EQUIPMENT, AND PERMIT NECESSARY TO KEEP THE JOB RUNNING WITHOUT A BREAK. WHAT OTHER COMPANIES MAY HAVE TAKEN A MONTH TO DO, ARS GOT DONE IN A BUSINESS WEEK. I WILL NEVER CALL ANY OTHER COMPANY FOR MY PLUMBING NEEDS! AND THEY GAVE US A GREAT PRICE TOO. COULD HAVE BEEN $25,000 EASILY, BUT THEY HAD MERCY ON A SMALL BUSINESS AND WE SURELY APPRECIATE THAT!

Description of Work: NEITHER THE FURNACE NOR THE A/C WOULD WORK. THE TECHNICIAN REPLACED THE TRANSISTOR IN THE FURNACE, THEN A WIRE LEADING TO THE A/C. THE FURNACE WAS INSTALLED IN 1989 AND HE SAID THAT THE MOTOR MAY STOP WORKING SOON, BUT IT IS WORKING FINE AT PRESENT.

SERVICE REP JOHN WAS VERY COURTEOUS AND PLEASANT. HE CALLED TO TELL US HE WOULD BE ABOUT 30 MINUTES LATE, AS HIS LAST JOB WAS DELAYED. WHEN JOHN ARRIVED, HE PROMPTLY HANDED US A POSTCARD TO MAIL IN, GIVING US A $50 REFUND FOR ARRIVING PAST OUR APPOINTMENT TIME. HE THOROUGHLY EXPLAINED WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE AND THE PRICE. HE SAID HE WOULD HAVE TO ORDER A PART, BUT IT SHOULD BE IN WITHIN A FEW DAYS AND HE WOULD COME AND INSTALL IT HIMSELF. TRUE TO HIS WORD, HE CALLED WHEN THE PART CAME IN, SET AN APPOINTMENT TIME AND EVEN SHOWED UP A FEW MINUTES EARLY! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND ARS AS THEY WERE EASY TO REACH AND WE DIDN'T HAVE TO WAIT DAYS TO GET AN APPOINTMENT EITHER.

I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY I SHOULD BE CHARGED FOR AN ESTIMATE.
Description of Work: I HAVE HAD CONTINUING DIFFICULTY WITH OUR HEATING AND AIRCONDITIONING SYSTEM SINCE WE MOVED INTO THIS HOUSE ONE YEAR AGO. I HAVE PAID FOR THREE SERVICE VISITS FROM ANOTHER COMPANY AND WE STILL HAVE 65% HUMIDITY IN OUR HOUSE ON HUMID DAYS. (THIS WAS MEASURED BY A MOLD REMEDIATION COMPANY REPRESENTATIVE) I CALLED AIR-TROL TO SEND SOMEONE OUT TO ASSESS OUR SYSTEM AND PROPOSE A SOLUTION. I MADE IT VERY CLEAR THAT I DO NOT WANT SERVICE. THEY WOULD CHARGE ME $95 FOR AN ESTIMATE. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY AN ASSESSMENT AND ESTIMATE SHOULD BE CHARGED. A COMPETING COMPANY DID NOT CHARGE ME FOR AN ESTIMATE AND DID AN EXCELLENT JOB IN PROVIDING SEVERAL SOLUTIONS, THOROUGHLY EXPLAINING THE PROS AND CONS OF EACH CHOICE. THE FINAL PERSON I SPOKE WITH AT AIR-TROL INDICATED I WOULD NEED TO SHOW A RECEIPT FROM THE FIRST COMPANY TO PROVE THAT THIS WAS A SECOND OPINION. WHEN WE HAD OUR ROOF REPLACED, CURTAINS REPLACED, AND WINDOWS REPLACED I DID NOT NEED TO PAY FOR ESTIMATES NOR PROVE ANYTHING.

THE TECHS WERE AT MY HOME EXACTLY AT 8AM WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD BE!! DANIEL WAS VERY PLEASANT AND ANSWERED MY QUESTIONS. I HAVE HAD AIR DUCT CLEANING DONE BEFORE BY ANOTHER COMPANY AND WAS IMPRESSED BY THE FACT THAT AIR-TROL GOT INTO THE ATTIC TO ACCESS THE AIR DUCTS FOR CLEANING. THE A/C AND FURNACE CHECK WERE DONE BY A DIFFERENT TECH, IN ORDER TO KEEP THE AIR DUCT CLEANERS ON TIME. THE TECH LEFT A VM FOR ME IN ADDITION TO THE WRITTEN SERVICE FORM THAT I HAD CONTROL ON THE FURNACE THAT WAS STICKING AND WOULD NEED REPLACEMENT BEFORE COLD WEATHER. THE ONLY THING THAT THEY FORGOT WAS TO CLOSE MY GARAGE DOOR WHEN THEY LEFT.

WHEN TURNED WATER ON AFTER PLUMBER HAD GONE, WATER CAME OUT OF DRAIN PIPE. I FOUND WASHER ON FLOOR WHERE PLUMBER HAD LEFT IT. SCHEDULED PLUMBER TO RETURN NEXT EVENING BETWEEN 4 AND 8 - COMPANY USED WRONG CONTACT NUMBER AND HAD NO PLUMBER TO SEND AT 7:00. SCHEDULED FOR NEXT BUSINESS DAY. WAS GIVEN 4-6 TIME PERIOD. HAD NOT CALLED ME BY 5:45 SO I CONTACTED THEM. ''TWO PLUMBERS OUT, NO PLUMBERS WERE AVAILABLE WHEN I TOLD THEM I SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRST THEY FINALLY SENT A PLUMBER FROM SOME DISTANCE WHO QUICKLY REPLACED THE MISSING WASHER AND FIXED THE PROBLEM. THEY GAVE ME THEIR $50 COUPON THEY PROMISE IF LATE, BUT THAT DOES NOT MAKE UP FOR HOURS AND DAYS OF WAITING FOR A MINOR PROBLEM WHICH WAS THE FAULT OF ONE OF THEIR PLUMBERS. I WILL NOT USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN NOR WOULD I RECOMMEND THEM.
