We called them to come out and look at it. Two of their people came out, and they condemned our air conditioner. They said that we needed a new system. I actually got a quote from them for a new heating and air conditioning system. Then I got a quote from another competitor in a different town called Kokomo, Buckley is in Peru. After comparing the quotes, I decided to go with the company out of Kokomo. During the installation process, we discovered that there was a line voltage problem on the line going to the air conditioner. I believe that they condemned my air conditioner without being thorough enough to know that it was a voltage problem, and not an air conditioner problem. That is why it wouldn’t run in the spring, it wasn’t getting enough line voltage. We didn’t know that until we decided to replace the entire unit and we discovered that the power going to the A/C unit was insufficient. I feel that the two people from Buckley should have seen that or known that when they tested my unit, and before they told me that I needed a new one. In the long run, I’m glad that I didn’t buy my new unit from them, and for that reason I wouldn’t use them again. I’m not saying that they purposely tried to deceive me, but they were surely not thorough. We didn’t pay them anything, they just came out and looked at the unit and condemned it. I don’t even know if they checked the voltage, they didn’t come into the house at all, they just said that it was bad, and that we needed a new one. They were competitive on price, and they carry a good product, they had Carrier heating and air conditioning systems. We looked at a lot of features on the two systems, and we just decided to go with the other one. They were responsive, when we called them they came out, but there was one thing which annoyed me the most. There were two people who came out, one was the primary service technician, I guess we could call him the boss, and he had a sidekick. Every time I asked the service technician a question, the other guy would answer for him, every single time. I was trying to direct my questions to the person that I felt had more experience and knowledge, but his overzealous sidekick just butted right in and tried to answer all the questions. If I was speaking to the service technician, he would butt in and offer his own version of what he thought the answer should be. It was quite annoying. One of the reasons I didn’t go with Buckley for the new system was that in the process of asking them the questions about their product, there were some questions that they didn’t answer as knowledgeably as did the heating and air conditioning company in Kokomo that we bought the system from. I had to ask questions, and I got half-baked answers. They didn’t seem to really know what the answers really were to the questions that I was asking. It goes back to professionalism, being thorough, knowing their products, and things like that.

They replaced the furnace and the duct work. They were referred by people at my work. They get high ratings and I would use them again. They were very good.
