Description of Work: This is the 2nd time I've used 1st Choice Construction. The first was to replace my roof. This time, I had them repair a gable peak. They were quick with the estimate, and then quick to schedule the services. Would use them again.

Description of Work: They replaced my roof. Damage was also done to trim on my home and the manager and I agreed that I would withhold a portion of the final payment until they fixed the damage and completed some final punch list items. The damage and punch list items were never followed through on by the company and when I asked for the specific manager I had worked with he was no longer with the company. I still file roofing nails all around the outside of the house even after all this time. More importantly, I had a leak within 3 months and several subsequent leaks. The company sent someone out to take a look at the problem and after several trips represented to me that everything was fine. After that experience, it is difficult to have any confidence that you have the 30-year roof you were expecting.

When I had a small leak they came immediately to repair it and repainted my living room ceiling. They really were very reliable, responsible and did great work. I would highly recommend them.

+ -1 moreRoofers arrived approximately 9AM and worked til nightfall. Came back next morning for about two hours to finish. On 3rd morning the supervisor came back with a helper to inspect and make finishing touches, including spray paint touch-up on the old vent stacks and flashing to make them look new, too - a nice finishing touch. I used this company because they have done a number of homes in my neighborhood including my next door neighbor, all seems well and price is very good. Am very satisfied with the look and workmanship, there were some minor problems but these were addressed and fixed to my satisfaction when I pointed them out. The estimate said it would be all hand-nailed, and it was done so. Yes, I recommend them.
Description of Work: The job included tearing off the old roof and replacing it with a new one. The house is a two-story, 18 years old, approximately 2200 square feet, has a brick chimney and one skylight.

+ 1 moreAfter the work was completed my son looked it over and found some things that were not right. It is the subcontractors work that I am unhappy with, especially the rewrapping of the two windows. It is pretty sloppy work. I am going to call today and ask them to come back out and see if they can do anything about it. I was also not happy with some of the guttering they did. They actually damaged some of the fascia that was already on the house. They didn't fix the fascia or replace it.
Description of Work: They did a reroof job, replaced some siding and they did new gutters and downspouts and also rewrapped with aluminum.

Kelly was extremely helpful in answering all of our many questions, explaining the entire process and in helping us work through our decisions. We very much appreciate the great job he did of keeping us informed on the status of the project while we were waiting for the materials to become available. The installation was very smooth. The roof looks wonderful and the guys did a fantastic job cleaning up the yard and driveway of debris. Job well done!

When they were tearing off the roof there was a pop up thunderstorm, they had no tarp and I now have water spots on the ceiling of my home which they took care of. As they were unhooking the air compressor they accidently sprayed oil on the house they only replaced what was sprayed and now the siding does not match. I told them I would pay them to replace what didn't match. They did a good job on the roof, but it has dragged on because of small little things. We feel we have been inconvienced because of something that should have been a very standard job.

+ -1 moreHe pointed out the damage to my roof. He wanted the name of my insurance company, and my claim number so that he could take care of it himself. I told him my adjuster had been out and said there wasn't any damage to my roof. The adjuster came back out with him, but in the meantime he asked if he could put his sign up in my yard. When he came back out, he was really trying to hustle me. He did give me an estimate, but it didn't have any prices on it and just said "insurance proceeds". The terms said 1/3 of contract price or first insurance check upon delivery of materials. I called and told him I didn't do business with companies who ask for money up front. He denied it, and said he didn't ask for money up front. I was not impressed.
Description of Work: They gave me an estimate for roof repair, roof repair on my shed and gutter repair.
