+ -1 moreJoe came out to repair a leak at the house and estimate the garage roof. He worked on the house leak (unfortunately it didn't work so we still have the leak). The bigger job was the garage roof. Even though the roof was supposedly new when we bought the house, the garage was sagging in the middle. He was adamant that it was snow load from the terrible winter and advised us to call the insurance company and put a claim in, and he would come back out when the adjuster came to advise on the roof. We called the insurance company and set up an appointment with the adjuster. Joe assured us he would be at the house for the appointment with the adjuster. Unfortunately, he never showed up and never called us to say why. The insurance adjuster denied the claim saying it wasn't in fact snow load and just ongoing wear and tear. We tried calling Affordable Construction again, but he never returned our calls and so we are out the money we paid for the leak that wasn't fixed, our insurance premiums will now increase for submitting a claim, and time. What an absolute time and money waster. He could at least come back out and finish repairing the leak on the house that we paid him for, but I guess when you have 'affordable' in your name, you get what you pay for.

+ -1 moreEverything went smoothly and amazing, we are beyond pleased!! They showed up around 8:30-9am and would stop their day around 5-6pm as to not disrupt our family time, kids doing homework, etc with them up on the roof. Everyone on site was extremely professional and friendly as was the work done. After the roof was complete, I have walked all around the house, driveway, yard, etc and am not even finding any missed nails, so not only did they do a fantastic roof job, they made sure to do a safe clean up. I would recommend this company over and over, if we move and need to install a roof we will definitely be calling Affordable Construction again.
Description of Work: We had an old roof on the house and garage that needed to be completely torn off, some wood that needed replaced on the house, all of our can vents removed and nice ridge venting installed, insulation blown in our attic, installation of ice and water shield on eaves and valves, and finally the installation of lifetime architectural shingles.

Description of Work: Out of the three estimates, Affordable Construction's prices were in the middle range of estimates. Some company's prices were outrageous while other's suspiciously low, but Joe's company (the owner) was in the mid range of estimates. Joe was prompt in arriving to make an estimate and derived the cost on the spot - as opposed to some companies that wanted to mail the estimate, if they even showed up as promised for their estimate. Joe's price included everything he said. There were no hidden costs, no added things to do or buy. He was upfront and honest. The only thing that could change the price is if he found damage on the wood under the roofing. He and his crew showed up promptly to work. They were professional, worked diligently, didn't leave any trash or debris in the yard during the entire 5 days of work. Joe was polite, professional, respectful, had a great personality. I never felt I was getting ripped off. He was patient with my millions of questions that I asked and explained things to the point where it made since and I felt he was completely honest in his answers. My house looks great. The roofing was laid very precisely and neatly - and with me being a perfectionist, I am glad his work passed my standards. The only slightly negative is, he left a huge truck with the equipment and tools in it in my driveway - with my permission and it was an eyesore, but only for a brief time - so it wasn't really a big deal. The truck also left oil spots on the driveway that Joe knew about and promised to clean up at the end of the job. This promise was about a month ago, but I attribute this to the hot dry weather and his business has many jobs to do and oil spots on my driveway are down on his list of things to do. Maybe he forgot. This minor overlook would not change my recommendation of his services to anyone. I am betting if I reminded Joe about the oil spots, he would be here today to take care of it.
