I had a basement that was partially drywalled by another company that quit in the middle of the job. I called Stephens to get them to fix the problems and finish the job started by the previous company. Salesman / manager came out very quickly after I called them. He took measurements and asked questions about all of the details and worked with me to understand what I needed. He was able to quote me a very fair price and explain some issues that he saw that I hadn't realized. He walked me through the process and explained how long the job should take. I had some minor scheduling conflicts and couldn't let them start that same week, so they were very flexible and worked with me to get their guys on site when I needed. The work crew came out and got started. They were very fast at their jobs and had the first round of drywall mud up in just under a day. There was a lot of repair from the prior job gone bad and they didn't cut any corners in making things right. The job progressed quickly and by the last day of work the manager was back out on the job site pointing out some minor places he wanted adjusted by his guys. There was also a small area that we hadn't previously talked about that they just took care of without charging anything extra. Stephens told me to give them a call if I found any rough spots after painting the primer. My painter came out the following week and I threw plenty of bright light on the ceilings and walls while he was priming and then again after he was done and the drywall looked fantastic. I appreciated them being available to fix things, but was glad that they had gotten things right the first time. What a wonderful feeling compared to my previous experience of people walking off the job leaving a huge mess. These guys are professional drywallers. They are not carpenters or painters that dabble in drywall. They move fast and do solid work. My only knock on any of their work would be that I'm sure they're used to commercial jobs where cleaning up mud on the floor is not critical. As my basement floor was unfinished, they did have quite a mess to clean up at the end and they did an okay job, but certainly not perfect. I did have substantial cleaning to do in order to prepare for the flooring. Like I said, on a commercial job that's normal. Residential work gets judged more closely on cleanup.
