Good for what I got. I wanted to do a door overhaul; way to high - 649.00 to get a new door; 850.00 installed.

Precision came out to replace my spring and told me there were several things wrong with my system. They offered to overhaul the door for $649. I refused at the time, they left, and my door wouldn't close. They wouldn't return to even look at my door unless I agreed to pay the emergency after hours fee.

They wanted to charge more for equipment than quoted on phone.

It ended up costing $400 for one spring and one hours work. And the spring only cost $30. When I called to complain the guy was completely rude and had an attitude. Nothing has been done on the company's behalf to resolve the issues.

The 2 car garage door was stalling at half point on opening. The technician who examined the door mentioned the following issues: 1. the spring was rusted, even though it was only 4 years. 2. bearings were damaged and needed to be replaced. He wanted to replace the single spring with 2 springs with cost around 330$. 3. the cable was damaged 4. The roller was damaged and rubbing on the shaft Pretty much at the end he wanted to replace everything except the door and the door operator and this package was going to be around 600-700$. I was not comfortable going ahead with the service, but since the door was not working, I requested him to just replace the spring, even though the technician wasn't too happy with my decision I called another company listed as A under Angie's List for a second opinion. The technician took a look and pretty much disagreed with every recommendation of Precision Garage. I feel very disappointed with professionalism of the technician who seemed to mislead customer with unwanted repairs.

Telephoned early last week and scheduled an appointment for a technician to come and look at our garage door. They scheduled an appointment, giving us a two hour window for arrival. Prior to the appointed time on the day they were to arrive, they called and rescheduled our appointment to 03/22/2010 between the hours of 8:00 and 10:00 a.m., citing the need to reschedule as he "had some technicians off." My husband called back within 15 minutes and moved the two-hour window to between 10:00 a.m. and noon. On 03/22/2010 nobody showed up between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and noon. We waited until after 2:00 p.m. to make sure we hadn't written the time down incorrectly. When I telephoned and explained nobody showed up, the gentleman I spoke with told me that he had telephoned and left a message. I advised we had been home all day and had received no telephone call, nor any message. He repeated our telephone number to me and went on to say something about an emergency from last week carrying over to today. I again explained that we had been home all day, that there was no indication on our caller I.D. that he had telephoned, and there was no message on our answering machine. He said he personally made the call. Again...home all day, no indication of a call from Precision Door Service or any unknowns on Caller I.D. and no message (and we did receive other calls throughout the day, so no problem with our phone.) I will give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he misdialed when he called, rather than assume he did not call at all. At the beginning of our telephone call, I inquired if we should just call someone else. I also advised that it wasn't so much the cancellation as the fact that we were not notified. After relaying the above in response to his statement that he'd called and left a message, he suggested that if we needed something done in a hurry, perhaps we should call someone else. So, that is what we did.

I had a really nice conversation with Mike who did the installation and I learned some things from him. The service call was $65 and we got a $20 discount for being a repeat customer. We had used them previously in July.

Ted arrived on time and was very knowledgeable. He explained the situation carefully and performed the work efficiently and quickly.

5 minutes early, provided good explanation of current problem and potential problems for 20 years old mechanisms.

Door wasn't working and now it is and sounds quiet, too.

Patrick gave advance phone call, arrived promptly, acted professionally, worked efficiently, and completed effective. Very nice guy and would use Precision again, thanks to Patrick.

Very well. Our door springs broke in the afternoon at which time I called this company. within an hour and a half they were here!

It did not go well. I would never use this company again.

They replaced a gear so that the door would be able to operate. We called them last month because we were having issues with the door as well. They said that the cold weather causes issues with the part and the part was 10 years old so it just needed replaced. They waived the service call and only charged us for the part this time. They did a great job. The technician was Patrick, he was wonderful. He came right away, even earlier than expected. He found the problem and had the part changed out in no time.

Patrick was very nice and was able to fix it with just a turn of a wrench! I called this morning, and he was out here in the afternoon. He made sure that it worked on the car remotes and on the house opener. We were satisfied and will continue to use them in the future.

Everything was great. Their rates were reasonable, and they came when they were supposed to. They cleaned up afterward, and I was happy with their work. I would use them again, and would recommend them to anyone.

They were trying to up-sell me through it all- they were like a used car salesman. I found out later from a friend with the same issues that all I really needed was to have the main spring replaced. It was not a good experience at all. There was a gap left. They created it, but did not fix it when I pointed it out.

The product they installed was fine. However the man that was in charge of the two men crew, I found him rude.

They came the same day we called them. They did a fine job and we haven't had any problems. We'd call them again in the future if we have any problems.

We'd used them before prior to that & we have in fact used them for more then 15 years for garage door service. We will continue to use them in the future as well.

Our tension spring broke, and I called several co's to get a quote. Precision was a little more expensive ($210), but they could get out the same day, so I set up an appointment. They were on time. The technician took off the springs, and showed me that there was "damage" where the roller bearings were digging into the shaft. He also showed how the rollers were loose. As a non-expert, I really didn't know whether the damage was significant, but the tech said it was and could lead to more problems. He quoted prices to fix each problem (160 & 200 I believe), and also a "package" price for a complete overhaul. The complete overhaul was 600. The internet warns about this type of scam, but the reason it works so well is because the customer doesn't know if the repairman is being honest and not fixing the problem could lead to future damage. Also, when the door is already taken apart, the customer doesn't feel comfortable trying to get a second opinion or finding out what the repair really should cost. After telling him to just replace the spring (the original call), he offered to lower the price and again warned that damage could be done and that it probably wouldn't last a year without repair. I changed my mind and had him do the overhaul for 550 (340 more than just the springs). He quickly made all repairs. From the time he knocked on the door to the time he drove off it was less than an hour. After he left, I checked the internet and the parts to replace the rollers and bracket were $10 and $15. That means I paid $315 for the labor which was less than a half hour. I believe the price is a complete scam preying on customer's ignorance and fear of doing more damage. The work completed appears to have been done well. The door runs very smoothly and quietly. Its unfortunate that I believe I was scammed on labor cost, because I like the way the door opens. For me, trust is essential in dealing with a contractor, and I don't trust Precision. I would not use them again because of the lack of trust.

They didn't put in one piece and put it in the wrong spot. There was a three and a half inch gap. They never straightened it out. I stopped payment on the check and I called them back and asked that they would fix it for me. The installers didn't know what they were doing. I wanted to try and discuss it with them, but they wouldn't. They refused to discuss it. They thought nobody knew anything but them. They said they were going to seal it, it is a three and a half inch gap. I didn't want it sealed, I wanted it installed properly. He has been harassing me on the phone for several months now.

He did run a bit late, but he called me to let me know. They were excellent. I felt like the price was excellent. They did a great job and I would definitely hire them again.
