+ 2 moreTim Patrick is the owner and I use him a lot for odd jobs. He is really good and I've used him several times. I use him for all kinds of stuff. He has fixed a doorbell, hung a couple of heavy mirrors and he tried to replace a faucet washer but it was brass and they didn't make it anymore so that was not his fault. They are good on everything. They are good on getting back to me with bids. They are reasonably priced. I will absolutely use him again.
Description of Work: I used Handyman By The Hour for wood repair on the front door. He replaced some rotting wood.

Description of Work: Our kitchen has a Mannington engineered hardwood floor. The ice machine in the refrigerator, the dishwasher, and the laundry tub in the laundry room at one time or another have put water or ice onto the floor and a few boards also had bad finishes. Tim and his team took up the bad boards, replaced them with new product which I had ordered and provided, and the floor looks new again. They also repaired a cracked ceramic tile which, due to age, could not be matched, and it looks much better. The next time I have repairs to be done, I will be calling Tim Patrick.

Description of Work: Replaced water damaged wood under kitchen sink. It was a bit difficult working around the structure of the sink cabinet as the front couldn't be taken off easily since it supported the sink. They did a great job working around this. It looks great.

I have used Tim (and Ed) on a number of occasions for both larger scale projects (such as installing the recessed lights and modifying the built-in tv cabinet mentioned above) and for smaller projects as well such as repairing wood rot around windows and other interior home improvement tasks. Tim (owner of company) and Ed (who unfortunately for us has chosen a new career field) are both exceptionally professional, polite, personable and fastidious in both their work habits and their results. Best ever! You will not go wrong hiring Handyman by the Hour.
Description of Work: Modified a large existing tv alcove for a different tv, built storage within this space for DVDs above and for the various pieces of audio equipment below. Built it in such a way to accommodate our needs now with the ability to reconfigure it in the future for a new flat screen tv of a different size. Replaced a ceiling fan in the master bathroom shower, adjusted some interior doors that were misaligned and did an amazing job installing four new recessed eyeball lights (to match the inadequate existing two) in a finished vaulted ceiling that had no attic access from above. Also installed a rheostat to control these lights. The auxiliary person Tim recommended to do the retexturizing work of the stuccoed ceiling did an outstanding job as well. The match to the other ceiling areas was perfect! As the work was done some time ago and I am very tardy in submitting the report I can't recall the cost although I do remember it seemed reasonable for what was entailed.

+ 0 moreThe best way I know to say how pleased I was with Tim is to say I am using him again to do some replacement of rotting siding outside our house at the end of this month. Tim is very professional and communicates well along the way. He also doesn't hesitate to throw out ideas for home maintenance that will save you money. I never get the feeling from Tim that he is pressuring for business, or creating work. He understands that if he does a good job today, that you will call him again in the future. He does what he says he wil do, and when he says he will do it. That's hard to find in the service industry.
Description of Work: Tim repaired the woodwork around some of our windows, and trimmed some doors inside that didn't fit quite right.

They are a small and nimble company that won't bite off more than they can chew and have always delivered as promised. If they can't fix something they always provide a reference to someone they know who can. Will continue to use them!

+ 1 moreI received Tim's name from another contractor, when I had some issues with interior wood. I called Tim and he arrived at the set time, wrote up the estimate. He contacted me the next day, and we agreed on the day for him to start. He emailed me with the confirmation. Communication with him was excellent. He did the job as said, the fee was as quoted. THe is always on time, professional, and if he can't repair or replace it he will help you find someone who can. I would use Tim again - hands down
Description of Work: Tim did a multitude of jobs for us. He replaced and repaired the wood around sliding glass doors, replaced trim and made it look like the original wood. He hung a fan, a large wrought iron art piece and fixed a dimmer switch that wasn't working properly.
