Exterior Home Improvement installed "FIBERGLASS" Windows in our home, these are the BEST windows and we are very happy to have chosen the "FIBERGLASS" Windows over the Vinyl or Wood Clad Windows. We split the window project into two phases, the first phase was completed in 2014 and the second phase was completed in April of 2015. We used Exterior Home Improvement for ALL of our Windows, Siding and Painting jobs because we were really impressed with their professionalism, knowledge and commitment to our projects. Ben McWhorter, our project manager visited our window job everyday it was running and was wonderful to work with. Ben was knowledgeable about the product and installation. Once the windows were contracted, Ben brought Steven Smalley, the owner of the company to measure our windows, this was a nice touch and we were happy to have met the owner. Hilary our window crew was a master craftsman and he really knew what he was doing. He worked hard and was a perfectionist!! Thank You Hilary for such a great job. Hilary cleaned up after the job was finished. I would recommend Exterior Home Improvement and all their team members to my friends, family and colleagues. Thank You Exterior Home Improvement!!

I thought the painters were very professional and helpful. They helped me with color selection, were prompt and cleaned up afterwards. They were also friendly and got the job done quickly.

After meeting with other companies to replace our windows, EHI was the best choice. From getting a quote, to meeting the dealer rep, to scheduling, to having the windows installed, we were happy with the process and end result. We have a very large picture window, which other companies didn't seem to want to replace, but EHI set us up with a great Pella window and installed it with confidence.

Went well. took about two weeks. They came back to tweek it. Looks good. Professionally done.

After having 6 different estimates for windows from different companies we decided on Exterior Home Improvement. Mostly because they had what we were looking for in window replacement for our custom built home as well as the customer service we received from Ben McWhorter their sales rep. Ben explained everything in detail and made suggestions as well in our initial meeting. He rough measured our windows. Then the owner Steve and the Pella rep came out and did the official measurements prior to ordering. The installation crew was top notch. Hilary and his crew worked hard and had all our windows installed within 3 days. Then it was time for the stain crew to come out and stain our trim around the interior of our windows as well as the windows themselves. We wanted the windows to look as if they had always been in our home and were just not some replacements. We were not disappointed by Valentine and his crew. After they finished the staining in 2 days it looked like the windows had always been here since the house was built. The stain matched all our trim that had been in the house previous. The exterior color of the windows also match our exterior color of the siding and gutters perfectly. All went well through out the process. Ben kept us in the loop on the progress of when they would start and was also here each day just to check in during the process. Would definitely use this company again in the future and recommend them to anyone needing replacement windows.

It went very well. It was the owners own crew, not sub-contractors. They were polite, professional, courteous and very acceptable and accommodating to have around the house for 3 weeks.

Our initial interactions were professional, interested and knowledgeable. We were presented several high end window options that met our personal requirements of low maintenance, good insulating value, nice looks and guaranteed for life. We ultimately were presented with 2 detailed quotes comparing vinyl windows to fiberglass windows. We chose vinyl replacement windows primarily due to maintenance and cost reasons. Quotes were dated October 17, 2013. Due to unforeseen circumstances out of the control of EHI, our initial salesman was unavailable for a period of time. Our order was to move forward under a different contact. Unfortunately, this didn't happen without prompting and our project endured a significant delay in window ordering. When the windows arrived, they were not all the right size. As such, we had another waiting period. Finally, the windows were installed in late December during an extreme cold period. The crew was kind and they cleaned up after themselves. Regrettably, the installation did not meet with our expectations. We experienced two manufacturing flaws that literally had cold winter wind blowing into our house to the point it was whistling loud enough to be heard a room away. Further, cold air was leaking around the window trim to the point that we nearly wished we had our old windows back (suggesting installation was incomplete or inappropriately done). EHI did come back to our house to install, take out and reinstall, reinsulate and then caulk around the windows to try and stop the leaks. While we give credit to the company for coming back in attempts to make our experience right, we had to document everything and conduct several uncomfortable exchanges with EHI management to make it happen. To say the tensions were a bit high by the time our final install completed is an understatement. Approximately one year after completing this exercise, we decided to finish replacing the remaining windows in our home. Given our experiences above, we chose not to leverage EHI for the remainder of this work. Unfortunately, that is when we got our last surprise. According to the manufacturer, Alside, our EHI team sold us "exclusive" windows without informing us. As a result, we were told we couldn't install the same window UNLESS we went back to EHI. It took us another several months to find a work around after contacting a knowledgeable local glass office who dealt with Alside directly. It was nothing short of ridiculous. Our window replacement project just completed 13-Aug-2015 (approximately 22 months after it started...inclusive of a 12 month buyer affordability delay). If you are curious, we did find windows from Alside that appear identical to the naked eye through another supplier. In fact, the windows ended up being slightly less expensive than the "exclusive" version we were originally sold. Key things to know: We would not return to EHI after our experience. Most (but not all) of the people we dealt with were kind individuals, but our overall experience was not acceptable. If you are not buying a whole house of windows at the same time, make sure you are asking if they are "exclusive" windows just in case you need to change installers along the way. Finally, despite Alside being ridiculous about the exclusivity of their various line of windows, we give them high marks for making things right when a service call is needed. We have required a few to correct manufacturing flaws and they have been all over it.

Our project manager Ben did a fabulous job at describing all my options as well as took the time to make recommendations on the type and colors that would match my house's exterior paint. The installation took a day longer than expected due to the weather, but I appreciated that they decided to come back one last day to finish up - rather than just try to quickly finish,which could have yielded less quality of work. The lead installer, Hilary, also made some suggestions and recommendations on other projects I had going on at my house at the time. He even cut me a piece of plywood from his own stock to assist in my bathroom remodel! Overall, excellent customer service. I wish Exterior Home Improvements did more home services.

The contractor fixed a slat on the roof and then left extras. They had to come out twice to ensure the color was a match. Very nice and very professional - would definitely recommend!!

Worked with Ben McWorder at Exterior. Ben was a joy to work with throughout the process. He sweated the details and communicated often. I used this company 9 years ago to replace siding on my home. They did a good job and the siding still looks great!

EHI installed my patio and front entry doors in previous years, and did an excellent job with both of those projects start to finish, and so they were my first choice when it became clear it was time for new windows. The process of getting an estimate was quick and easy. The project manager assigned to my job, Ben McWhorter, came out to take preliminary measurements, and go over options for products at the earliest time I could conveniently arrange to be home from work. Ben clearly explained the different options in windows, and, consistent with my previous experiences with EHI, there was absolutely no attempt at up-selling. EHI is also very good about making sure that all possible discounts are applied in the final estimate. Given that I was replacing 12 windows, I was very pleasantly surprised that the estimate was lower than what I was expecting! Before any windows or doors are ordered, Steve Smalley, the owner comes out to personally measure everything. I appreciate the adherence to the old adage of measure twice, cut once...or in this case order once. The person who would be in charge of the installation of my windows also came to this second measuring appointment. Again, this was great, because I felt it minimized the chance of unpleasant surprises during installation; Steve and Hillary were able to make decisions together before anything was ordered. Installation began within the promised time frame and went very smoothly. The crew, led by Hillary, was professional, and took great care to clean up both inside and outside my house after each day's work. I felt very comfortable having the crew in my house while I was at work, which is not something I do lightly. The windows look great, and function exactly as promised! The attention to details, such as working the trim around some woodwork in my house was exceptional. One of the things that stands out about EHI is their professionalism and responsiveness. The project manager, Ben McWhorter, was always very easy to reach by cell phone. EHI project managers always include their cell numbers on their business cards and I never had more than a minute or so wait before a call or text back. Minor problems found after installation (a few dented sashes and gaps in caulk) were addressed promptly and without question. New sashes were ordered immediately and installed as soon as they arrived. Ben personally addressed the minor caulk issues. I have recommended EHI to friends and coworkers and will definitely use them again for any future projects!

Although hampered by rain delays, the removal of the old windows and installation of the new ones went as expected. This is our second experience with EHI as they installed the same kind of windows in our home last summer. Steve (owner) and Matt (sales rep) came out in April to measure the windows that would be ordered for replacement. Upon completion of the job last summer, we were told that if we decided to replace the old windows that remained, EHI would guarantee the 2014 price which was quoted us. They fulfilled that promise. Hillary, the carpenter who was assigned our job was professional, pleasant, and very competent punctual on the job. In an effort to finish the job on time, he asked our permission to work on Saturday and Sunday which was fine with us as we too wanted the work finished on time. Hillary worked very hard while at our home and cleaned up the areas before leaving for the day. When he mistakenly made trim frames for the interior, he took them apart and remade the trim to match the custom trim on the existing windows. He did this without complaint and was most eager to please us as homeowners. In short, our experience with EHI mirrored our experience last year,. We have now had all but 3 of our home windows replaced and will not have further need for window installation again. We definitely recommend their services for window installation. A great experience from start to finish and we LOVE our windows!

We needed to replace the 22 casement windows in our sun room, which were installed in 1985. The south facing windows all had seal failure, causing one window to break (due to a rotting frame) and the rest to be clouded. We had four different estimates, based on Angie's List reviews and varying window options. They were Exterior Home Improvement, Apex, American Window and Mr. Window. We did not divulge the names of the companies until we made our final decision. Each company representative did a good job presenting the options. After spending years cranking open/closed 22 windows, we wanted to go with sliding windows. Some companies couldn't offer the size window we desired, for a variety of reasons. Ultimately we went with Home Exterior because of what they were able to offer, the price and positive experience a friend with the company. Hillary, the installer, was amazing. He is a pro that worked hard and was able to have the job done in good time. We are thrilled with the result! The windows work great and offer a more open feel to the room. No regrets!

Steve showed up on the morning of the start date to make sure everything was delivered. We then did a full walk around with the crew to make sure everything talked about in the quote was pointed out. The whole project took a little over a week due to weather. Steve contacted me every time there was a stoppage and every time they started back up. He called me a couple of times at work to let me know he was at the house and if I had any questions. Any questions I had he brought it up with the crew and all issues were resolved. The crew did and excellent job and were very professional.

The previous week they had just installed all new hardie-plank siding. Due to weather they took almost 3 weeks to paint the house. Steve contacted me every step of the way and assured me that they will NOT perform any painting services when the potential for rain is near. After constant rain and shortened days, the crew showed up on a Sunday morning to finish the job. They stayed until it was done ~10 hours. Once again, the crew was very professional. They did a great job.

They took out the old door and installed the new front door system. The installers were on time, professional, CLEAN and did their job quicker than expected. Then they came back to stain the door and was so precise to make sure the color is how we wanted it to be.

I cannot tell you how pleased we we are with the high level of communication and craftsmanship. Outstanding people to work with!

Our experience with Exterior Home Improvement was wonderful right from the start. Ben McWhorter spent quite a bit of time helping us figure out the right design for our project. He was patient and professional. The installers did a great job. They were also very professional and courteous. The installations went very well. They were thorough with their cleanup. We would definitely recommend them and would not hesitate to use them again.

Steve, the owner, personally came out before the work was done and after the work was completed. His employee, Dave, did an amazing job at the repair. They were so quick at responding to my needs. The cause of the damage may have actually been due to the window installation that was done prior to the siding job. It probably should have been chaulked by either the window installers or the siding installers but whichever it was, Steve took care of it and only charged me labor costs which was half of the cost of the job. I would highly recommend Exterior Home Improvements. I have been so pleased with the siding job that they did 6 years ago. It still looks perfect!

Dave and Steve investigated, promptly responded and properly repaired and resolved the issue. We want to thank them for being loyal to an old customer and appreciate their attention to this matter.

Judging by the reviews I have read I am the only one to ever get a bad roofing job from Elbert. About three years ago Elbert tore off two layers of old roof and replaced several sheets of plywood before installing a new roof and gutter system. Something went wrong with the installation and we have been fighting with them to have the job repaired ever since. From the first year we have been calling to get water leaks fixed. They would be right out but no one ever appeared. Repeated calls brought the same results. Finally we started getting a series of inspectors each of which had a different opinion and again they would get right on it. More calls, more promises. Currently they have a contract crew who has a problem with showing up. Three days now they have said they would be here bright and early. One day they arrived at eleven thirty AM, second day twelve thirty PM, yesterday two thirty PM, today they haven't arrived yet. The work they are doing looks pretty good but we have yet to see the results and the job is far from finished. I want to also note they didn't reinstall the drip edges as they put the gutters back on. They say they will repair the other damage but so far the job isn't done. I apologize but I am very dissatisfied and I can't get results.

The representative was professional, pleasant, shared much needed information concerning the leak, what caused it and what needed to be done. He took his time, went up on the roof, and climbed into our attic. He was very thorough. He answered all our questions and was very polite. I cannot say enough about the gentleman, Steve Hubbard, who represented Elbert Roofing of Noblesville. We will call them for our next roofing needs!

They were on time and the installation of the wooden window went well. They were very accomodating as far as the scheduling went, and were quick to return calls. They came and installed the window on one day, and then came back for a follow up appointment to do the staining a second day. We were very happy with the results. I also felt that their pricing was competitive.

Overall the job went well. Installation was good and efficient. They were very careful with our property; rugs and home in general. Ben McHorter (salesman) was pleasant to deal with. We signed the contract last October but could not get the job completed until the following April due to the type of windows we wanted. Steve Smalley (owner) worked with us to get the job done faster and even offered a discount for the inconvenience. We had a window they had done before that was still under warranty that had cracked. They honored the warranty and replaced the window. They assured us if anything goes wrong with this job they would make it right. They back up their work and warranties.
