My experience with this company was wonderful start to finish. I truly appreciated having one person to contact regarding my project; Steve was very easy to reach, great to work with, and very up front about issues such as price and scheduling. I was extremely impressed with both the speed and care taken in the installation of the door, including the fact that my house was left cleaner than before the installation. Dale's attention to detail in installation was remarkable. Steve also took the time to show me how to work all the features on the door such as the within-the-glass blinds, the locking system and the tension on the screen door. Given the type of door I purchased, their price was excellent. Pella is not cheap, and I had received other estimates almost $2000 higher. I will definitely be contacting this company when I am ready to replace my windows!

Salesman was great to work with. Other companies were unwilling to deal with our insurance company and they were ok with the insurance amounts. We didn't sign the contract until around Dec. 1 so we knew it would be tricky getting the roof done. When a stretch of good weather days happened, they called and started the next day. The crew was polite, worked hard. At the very end, an unexpected rain forced them to finish in haste. Accordingly some gutters weren't properly attached under the new roof and were left hanging. We called about this and said they would be out soon to fix it (we had not paid the remainder due). Two days later, NY Eve a.m. we woke up to water dripping in our upstairs hall. The attic vent had not been properly flashed. Several co. reps appeared on the scene, and one worker spent most of the day putting in new flashing & fixing the gutters, needing to replace roofing to do so. What was missing here was a complete inspection by co. rep. after work was done.

Because of weather and insurance issues, it took a long time to get up and going but they stuck by their original bid. Their crew got right to it and finished in a reasonable time frame. The only "flies in the ointment" were that (1) their roofing supervisor did not show up to keep and eye on progress and did not followup as promised and (2) the cleanup could have been better. However, he is now gone and the salesman, Brant Denning, picked up the slack. Brant is on top of things and went to bat for us with the insurance company re-hail damage. Exterior previously put in all new windows for us and did a good job on them, too.

They came when they said and did the work properly the first time, no need for return "get it right" trips!

They were very professional, neat, accurate, and friendly.

I selected EHI for a quote based upon Angie's List recommendations. I was impressed by the sales pitch and their responsiveness in the bid process. However, because they seemed to start high and negotiate downward and because they were much higher in the measured square footage of the siding, I chose not to use EHI to complete hail storm repairs.

The company madde a very good initial impression and fully explained the types of windows available and their specific features. They were price competative with lesser quality windows and could supply the look that I wanted. The installation was sheduled in coordination with the construction of a room addition by the same firm. A subcontractor performed the work. The crew was very professional and skilled. The installation was completed in two days with minimal interruption to my household. They were neat, clean and quick. Just the way we like them. Good windows. Good installation. Good price.

I am very impressed with this company. They were very willing to work with me on the design to get the look that I wanted. All work was performed in a timely and professional manner. All of their workforce including the subs were friendly, courteous, and helpful in explaining how or what they were doing. The project was completed in the original time frame and within the original cost quote. There were no negative surprises. I would certainly recommend them to anyone considering this sort of project.

Project manager was Jeff Federspiehl and he was professional, responsible, reliable, accountable, accountable and helpful in ways that went beyond the contracted services. The work was done as scheduled in a timely fashion. All work crews were professional in their conduct and responded to specific customized request. All work crews returned to the job to address any questions or concerns. They all cleaned up after themselves in a responsible way. The quality of the materials and labor was of high quality. The installation was handled in a very professional manner and everyone seemed to know what they were doing. The cost for the improvements were very reasonable and at times a third of what I thought I would have to pay. The house has become a show piece in the neighborhood.

Overall I was pleased with the job that was done. Initially they were very punctual and responsive to my calls. The job was done in a reasonable amount of time, however I was a little disappointed that some promises made during the estimate were not followed through (for example - the foreman would be there the first day of the work and I had to call them 2 weeks after the work was done to see them about payment and the final walk through). The roof looks good and they cleaned up well. They just need to let people know with dogs that they should board their dogs during tear off process with the dumpsters and air compressor in your yard. I will still use them again, but I would clarify better what the whole process would be.

After getting estimates from 3 companies, we selected Exterior Home Improvement (EHI) to perform the work. Mr. Federspiel, met w/the 4 different insurance adjusters that I was assigned over a 5 month period. He made sure our every need was met & that we were happ y w/th e job. For example, there was one shingle that looked different than the others so he made sure that it was replaced. We also used this company for replacing our damaged siding & gutters. Two months after the job was completed, a piece of siding trim came loose, however it was not on an area of siding where EHI had replaced the siding, but was near an area of roof EHI had placed. I contacted Mr. Federspeil &a mp; he had someone take care of if without charge to us.

The first estimator hurt his back, and because of this, it took them awhile to get another estimator out Brett Denning was our second estimator. He was wonderful. It took them 7 months to have completed because of the scheduling issue, but we are very happy with the final product.

Matt was very helpful in finding the right door for our house. Very detailed and what we were getting, as well as what problems we could encounter. The installation crew was very tidy during and after the install. Everything was done professionally and quickly. The door looks wonderful, and Matt went over the things we should do to keep it looking good for many years to come.

It was fabulous. They were very timely. It was an architectural roof. They cleaned up very well. They were very polite. The job went very well for as large of a job as it was.

Gutters were damaged on three sides of entry way. After entire roof was replaced, Brant Denning arranged for the gutters to be replaced in these areas and leaf guard to be replaced all around house. Work was done in timely fashion. Gutter workers did leave a large corrugated box and some leaf guard on roof. Brant took care of that when he came to check work. Again, Brant kept us informed as to when work would be done and followed through.

Our initial call was on 5/31. The message indicated it could be 6-7 weeks for an estimate and they would return our call in 48 hours. Steve Smalley called on 6/5 to schedule the estimate for 6/14. Representative spent 2 hours on 6/14 measuring and told us they would prepare estimate back at the office and send to us. We never received the estimate. We did not follow-up as we were in contact with 3 other contractors by this time.

I would not use them again. Some of the work had to be redone. They would come and disappear. We found out they sub out all the work and the painters busted some of my bushes. They tried to make right on some things. Went out of their way to do some other things, but I would not use them again. My experience was not a good one.

The crew was very prompt and got there on the date they promised. They were very neat and cleaned up completely. The sales person was very accurate on the price and work performed.

Steve New was a wonderful man to work with on our project. He spent a lot of time with us to ensure we were happy. I would recommend EHI to others.

I thought they were super. They did a very good job, and it looks very good.

Got the hard-court press prior to signing the contract. We did sign the contract and provided a down payment. From that point forward, we never heard from them again until WE contacted them 6 weeks later on the estimated start date of the job. It took two emails and a phone call to the office manager to finally get someone to tell us when our job would start. Was told that they never contact you until they're ready to schedule the job (fine, but tell me that when I sign and don't give me an estimated start date if that really means nothing). They finally started the job AFTER the date they estimated in the contract that the job would be completed. Four hours after the job was completed I received a phone call to discuss my satisfaction and final payment! They wanted their $$ (for that I got called promptly). I told them I was dissatisfied with the customer service. They apologized; sent a gift certificate. Work great; craftsmanship fantastic; workmen professional. Communication POOR!

They returned my call within 24 hours. They let me know that their company didn't do the interior framing needed to convert the one skylight to three. They did, however, give me the name of someone else that could help me; Dennis Coffey. As it turned out, Dennis is the one who did the job for us. I appreciated their friendliness on the phone and their help in finding another person to do the job. I felt that was over and beyond what they needed to do. Others that I contacted for an estimate just said, ''No, we don't do that,'' and left it at that.

In the kitchen, they converted double hung window to single. Worked with me to size this window to the maximum so as to provide a better view of our backyard from the kitchen window. Opening presented some challenges (house exterior is rock), but the end result was spectacular. Windows in bedroom were straightforward replacement and they did them in a very short period of time. All work was done in the time frame and price quoted. The workmanship was superb. Cleanup was done thoroughly. Matt and everyone at Exterior was always very responsive whenever I called. He came by a couple of days after the work was completed to make sure everything was done correctly. It was!

Steve Smalley's estimates are extremely detailed and exact. He actually measures the roof before giving a quote. The work was finished in two days, and at the end of the job, not so much as a single nail was left in the grass around the house. If you want a job done in great detail, he's the one to call.
