This was a small job compared to the project we worked with them in the past. Because of our past relationship, the small job was "okayed". Exterior Home Improvements strength lies in customer service. The general foreman remains with the customer no matter what type of job is contracted. Some cedar siding was replaced. The job was completed on schedule. However, clean up lacked detail, with nails being found on the ground up to and over a year later.

It was a pretty big job. It took them a couple of weeks to complete the job. We would consider using them again.

Matt gave us a very good price on the fiberglass Marvin windows. We spent a little more than planned, but we never thought we'd be even close to affording fiberglass. Because these windows are more rigid, and our window openings weren't exactly geometrically sound, this was a challenging installation for the crew. But they did a really good job in about three-plus days. I had only one minor problem with a window (user error!), and Matt talked me thru the fix on a Saturday. He offered to come out first, but I declined his offer and we got it done over the phone. I plan to use Exterior Home Improvement again when I replace our sliding patio door.

I spent thousands of dollars, it was expensive. They did a very good job. The installer was exceptionally good.

They made our storm door work and everything was done very well and professionally. We have used them before. The door took a long time to arrive - that was the problem and it was difficult to get a tax invoice.

Matt was very professional, always timely and replaced the windows on schedule. We have been very happy with the quality of the fiberglass windows and will be using them and the same product again.

Company sent out an estimator who looked at the area from the ground and stated that he would get with his roofing guy and get back to me with an estimate. That was the beginning of December. It is now almost the end of January, and I have yet to hear from the company. Update 1/31/2011: Steve called and will personally provide the estimate. I'm updating the overall score to a C until the estimate is provided.

Showed up on time as promised. Had very large crew who began work immediately. Identified several problems and provided several repair options and cost estimates. Crew was very careful around extensive gardens-even accommodated a birds nest until the babies flew away! Crew cleaned up every night and work was excellent.

They did a really nice job. They were real responsive to getting an appointment to make an estimate and then to schedule the work. They did a nice job and didn't leave any mess behind. I had them do this in preparation of having my house resided and it looks very nice.

We have used them in the past for siding work and we were pleased, so we called to get an estimate for window replacement.

The estimate was fair and similar to others, but they offered a superior product. We were very pleased with the company.

My experience was vey good and they were very professional.

They were very accommodating. Matt was the salesperson and foreman. I had contacted them for an estimate and they didn't come when they said they would. They came a week before another person was scheduled to start. I cancelled with the other company because the quality was the same if not better and the price was 30 percent less than what they wanted. It was about $1,700. I had signed the contract but I still had the 3 days to cancel. I wanted 6-panel windows and when they came they were 12-panel and I said I didn't want those. I had to wait another week for the new windows to come in and they were very accommodating. I had no complaints at all about them. They tried to sell me an extended warranty and the office kind of pressured me on that and I said no and they were fine with that. They were very accommodating, very proficient and very knowledgeable. The windows are great and they are not fogged over.

After installing the door, we noticed that they had clear calked the trim to the wall by the calking that oozed out from the sides (onto the wall and the wood that we were planning to stain). Since we wouldn't be able to stain under the silicone calk, nor paint our wall against the door trim due to the calk, we had to call them back out to redo the trim. I noticed before they left that the door was hard to open and lock, we told them about it prior to signing the paperwork, and they stated that it was normal. I thought I would let my husband look at and see what he thought when he came home, so I signed the paperwork. Within a week, the door stopper fell off. At the time, we just had a 6 month old in the house. There is no way in the world he should have been able to pull the thing off. Our son isn't some super baby, with superhuman powers. So, we called them about that to fix it the same time we were going to have them come about the calk. So, when we told them about what we needed, the lady said that she would have to have the salesman call me. I thought it was a bit ridiculous because all we need is a technician to come out. A few weeks later, the salesman called and scheduled an appointment. I took another morning off, to my dismay the salesman showed up that morning (not a technician!)! The salesman told me that he had to look at the repair items to determnine the work time and the parts. Well, ok. I'm still urked at this point because I told them the parts over the phone. A few weeks later they came out to fix the trim, and the door lock. However, they didn't fix the stopper. They stated that the stopper was not a manufacturer's warranty! I said, I don't care if it's covered by the manufacturer or by Exterior Home Improvement. The fact is the stopper should not come off! To this day, we still don't have a stopper. If I knew then how they would treat they customers, I wouldn't have went to them for any door/window replacement.

Lots of information exchanged before the signing of the contract. Very thorough. Window was installed quickly and looks great; we need to do the polyurethane over the unfinished framing ourselves, but are waiting for warmer weather to do that. We needed to be sure the window qualified for the energy star tax credit and Dan, who was our project manager, provided us with all the facts and figures we needed, and then some, plus assurance that he would iron out any difficulties for us during the process. No difficulties arose. Dan spent plenty of time explaining everything to us.

Overall, the experience was excellent. The tech who came out to provide estimates was right on the button. The price was competitive. The employees that performed the work did a great job, and after the work was completed, the clean-up was excellent. I'm happy with their services and I would highly recommend them to others.

Matt McQuiston of EHI was prompt for his sales call which included showing samples and a discussion of the possibility that my house might have lead paint in it. Neither of the other two windows presentations included them. I appreciated Matt's full disclosure. EHI's schedule was packed because of the federal tax credit, but EHI's estimated installation date was accurate and we knew what to expect up front. The installers were polite, businesslike, and competent. Their installation job was very well done and done exactly as previously described. Matt even called after the job was done to ensure that we were satisfied. All told, this project was completed in a first-class manner. I have even recommended EHI to a close friend who was also very pleased with EHI's job.

It was a very good experience. The EHI team was headed up by a true craftsman, Hillary. The installation was completed in a timely fashion, for the agreed upon price. The owner, Steve, was at the site every day, not to check up on Hillary, but to check the new product line met our needs. Now, a few months down the road, the product is everything we had hoped for and everything has been tweaked to perfection. EHI owner, Steve, has followed to make sure we are pleased and now we feel comfortable sharing our experience. Good people with which to do business.

We were first exposed to Exterior Home Improvements (EHI) at the Garden and Patio Show held at the fair grounds. What initially attracted us to EHI was the product line as we needed sliding glass doors and exterior siding replaced on our lake home. Steven Cunningham was the EHI representative that inspected the lake house. He was extremely knowledgable and was very enjoyable to work with. He gave us the initial quote but also pointed out areas that might require a change order after the exterior of the house was removed. This is exactly what happened. After our old sliding doors were removed, it was clear that there had been extensive water damage. Stephen and his crew were able to handle all aspects of what ended up being an extensive reconstruction of the back of the house. We were very comfortable leaving Stephen with the house keys while they worked. He called multiple times to fill us in on how things were progressing. Every time there was a change order, Stephen met us after hours at the house to show us exactly what was the issue, what needed to be done, by when would it be done, and how much it would cost. They did an excellent job. Stephen did the final walkthrough with us. There were only a few very minor things that needed to be fixed and Stephen pointed most of them out to us; no detail was too small to be fixed. We were so impressed with Stephen and the crew that we also had them paint the house and garage. They did an excellent job. Stephen again did the walkthrough and thought that the screens to the house should be replaced to make the overall look better. He actually fixed the screens for us at his cost. Because they did such an excellent job, we have actually hired them to work on our primary residence.

The process was very smooth. Steve Cunningham provided an estimate and he and the owner measured the windows prior to ordering. They made sure to work the project in prior to the end of the year so I could get the tax credit. The installation was completed approx. 8 weeks later. The installation crew was very polite, clean, and did a very good job with the windows. It was very cold and snowy that day, so I appreciated the quick but thorough installation. Steve was very helpful and was involved throughout the process. He has also been very responsive to any questions that I had. This company is very concerned with customer service. I have used them for work in the past and would continue to do so in the future.

We were pleased overall. The installation was fairly quick, and the workmen were friendly and very professional. The new windows have made a huge difference in the temperature of the house, and they look great. Any issues or problems (for instance, a damaged latch, and cracked grout) that arose after installation were promptly attended to and fixed. Overall, great company. Professional, quality work and good customer service. I would certainly use them again.

I had two other bids for window/door replacement at my condo which were higher and did not offer the same window/door quality. All work was done with extreme care and was completed in two days time. Customer service is very important to this company as they followed through on all of my concerns and were always available to assist me. I felf I got great value for my money.

We were very pleased with the results of the work, and Steve Cunningham, the project leader, did a great job of staying in touch with us and making sure we were kept informed about the job, and providing pictures to document the progress. I would highly recommend the company to anyone looking to have work done to their home. I thought they were very professional in their approach, and were reasonably priced in comparison to the other vendors I got bids from. I also liked the fact they use their own staff, rather than just hiring temps to perform the work.

They were very professional with their set-up, worked long hours but the job was surprisingly non-intrusive. They were very courteous and worked very hard, also, worked smart. Helped us recognize some areas that needed repairs to prevent future deteriorization - foundation problems. Steve Cunningham was very professional, hard-working, detail conscious. We are very happy with the end-product! We would definitely recommend Steve and his staff to clients who are looking for renovation efforts to their home exteriors.

We had a contractor that was supposed to prepare our two windows and door for installation and install them; however, he was unable to complete the job. After we painted the door and stained the windows and casing, we contacted Steve Cunningham with EHI to obtain an estimate for installation. We decided to have EHI remove and install our new door and windows after reading many great reviews on Angie's List. The crew lead by Matt showed up early the morning of installation. All of the crew was professional and through. They completed the installation of all three items within 8-9 hours. It was a cold December day and they worked diligently to get the windows and door installed in a timely manner. We receieved a follow-up call from Steve to make sure we were pleased with the finished job and we were! I would definitely contact EHI in the future. They do "A" quality work!!!
