In selecting the siding and trim, Steve didn't give do the strong sales/pressure talk which was great. With all the rain this spring, they were running behind on all their siding jobs, but Steve kept me updated as to revised start dates for the work. Once they started on the job, Dave and his team did a fantastic job! It was well worth the wait. They cleaned up every day before leaving. They provided status updates and pointed out other things about my house as they were working. Fortunately, there was only one problem area discovered once the siding was removed and they handled it in stride and it didn't impact the overall timeline of the job. Overall, great experience and wouldn't hesitate to consider this company for future work.

So two fellas, one of them was Cody came out. They got on my roof where the leak would've been. The area on the roof is just above my central air unit. They could find no leak, and suggested that the leak on my ceiling was probably due to the central air unit, as the hoses come down from just under the eaves. They told me they didn't feel comfortable selling me roofing services that they felt I didn't need, and suggested that I call a heating and cooling company. Now how many contractors would do that? I had another roofer out earlier that morning who is a one man operation, who said I had a leak because some shingles needed to be re-nailed down. The fellas at Elbert said my shingles were fine.

They got on the roof and checked for apparent problems. They couldn't find any obvious causes related to the roof, but they did suggest that it could be the chimney and suggested that we have a chimney company check it out. All of this was done free of charge. Very professional and courteous.

They were early for appointment. They worked diligently at the project. They cleaned up all the scrap and removed scrap from the premises. They did a good job checking and re-fastening the loose siding. They used touch-up paint on the nail heads and you cannot see the nails. We were afraid the entire side of the house would have to be replaced.

Overall we had a great experience dealing with Exterior. This was the second project we hired them on, so we were familiar with working with them. We were quite particular in whom we selected to take on our project given the unique nature of our home and the ultimate look we wanted to accomplish. From the beginning, Ben did a thorough job of explaining all of the factors we needed to consider in selecting our new windows as well as talking through the steps needed to execute a proper installation. He took extra time to walk us through his quote and explain all of steps involved in the project. We had some custom features we wanted in the windows and on the install, and Exterior did a great job of making that happen. We want to give special kudos to Hillary, the installer/carpenter, for the near flawless job he did on the installation. His craftsmanship, attention to detail and professionalism is top notch. We wish we could find someone like him to do all of the projects at our home.

I called the company from Angie's List because it had a high rating. I received a call back a couple of days later from a man named Ben with the company. He quoted me $5000.00 to do a one window cut-in. I took that information at face value. I was sad that it would be so high and was not going to have it done. I decided to check with another company and found out that it would only be around $1500.00 It is now obvious to me that he just didn't want the job so he quoted it ridiculously high. That is just bad business. If he didn't want the job he could have just told me that. How unprofessional. I would never call this company again for anything!!!

They didn't follow up with the estimate as they promised. It seemed to me that they didn't have any interest in the work.

Work not done. Did not call me back to give me an estimate for replacing exterior siding.

Life would be much easier if every business had the high standards and professional employees I found with this company! Beginning with my initial meeting with Ben and continuing through Hillary's application of the last line of caulk, I was impressed by how dedicated this company is to providing high quality work that meets the expectation of the customer. Ben has the ability to listen and understand what the customer is looking for in product, cost and time table. Steve's visits to keep abreast of the work being done was appreciated, and Hillary is truly a talented installer with years of experience that provide him with a ready ability to solve the unexpected situations that probably come along with many jobs. I will have exterior doors replaced in the near future and I plan to have them do that job also.

I had four companies give estimates for new vinyl siding and was the most confident in what Steve recommended for the job. His crew was very professional and easy to work with. Overall, they did an excellent job installing the siding, as well as replacing areas of rotted fascia and soffit. I would certainly use Ext. Home Improvement for future projects.

Elbert's did an extraordinary job with our reroofing. Their sales person was complete in educating me about quality roofing and setting expectations. Expectations were met. Crew was efficient, accommodating, and responsive. We are very proud of our new, good looking roof. I would very readily recommend Elbert's to my friends.

Thrilled with the quality of the work done. Steve knows his stuff and came out and replaced the trim around our windows of our 1930's home. They found a rotted header when taking out the trim and replaced that as well. The end product looked great and was completed quickly.

Owner Steve Smalley responded promptly and in his visit soon thereafter explained what he could do and why. Dave, the head of the crew, was excellent; and the rest of the crew were also polite, hardworking, and cleaned-up the site beautifully. There were a few things requiring attention at the end, and Dave came back soon to take care of them. I am very pleased with the whole job, an definitely recommend them. (Below "windows" were not included but I can't change that box.)

The entire process was so smooth. Steve stopped by several times throughout the installation process. The crew which installed the siding was so professional, punctual and congenial. The crew took great care and precision with installation. Plus, they did a clean-up at the end pf the day every day and the clean-up at the end of the project left my property spotless.

They were a little backed up due to number of people with problems. But they were very professional and through.

They did a great job - Steve was very responsive when bidding the project and during the work and after. On-site team were great guys and work was done very well.

Replacement of the door went as planned. Once old siding was removed, they discovered additional structural damage that needed to be dealt with. They sent an addendum to original quote which we approved. Work was completed a few days later. The following weekend we painted new siding and found an 8" section of wood adjacent to the new construction that was soft due to wood rot. I find it difficult to believe that construction crew did not see it. Called them to inquire at which point communication slowed dramatically (we had already paid balance). Had to follow up a couple of times before getting someone out to look at situation. They now state they missed it and anyway it wasn't part of estimated work, which is true. They recommend I hire a handyman to fix it. I am a repeat customer of this company. I've spent thousands w them on 2 different projects on my back porch area. My thought is im a good repeat customer. Don't you want to value that relationship and take care of this small patch of work that keeps this job from being excellent? I don't expect them to drop everything and do it now. I don't even expect them to do it for free but I do expect a professional to complete work that is exemplary. I'm also concerned that the longer it goes undone, the worse the damage will become.

He came out, he didn't give me a bid, he said he would send it to me. I had to contact him again to get it. It was nice, it was a very nice bid. It had pictures, it was very complete, it was very good. Then, the whole thing got put on the back burner for a little while. While we were doing this, there was a whole place where the gutter needed to come off. I was thinking about doing gutters anyway. So I asked him about adding gutter guards and if I bought them and he installed them, how much more would that be. He never got back with me. The work is done and he didn't do it. If he had gotten back with me he probably would have gotten the job because the bid was good, the price was right. His bid was wonderful. There was no charge to do the quote. If someone asked me about the provider or using him for the estimates, I would tell them that if they didn't mind keeping after him, to go ahead and give him a try. The estimate was right on with another one I got. He showed up on time. The first time I asked for the estimate, he got back to me right away. He was nice and that was all good.

The project went vert well. I really like the attention to detail. All the windows look great! Hillary did a fantastic job - his craftsmanship especially showed where the windows were adjacent to the stone exterior. A very professional job! Ben was also very flexible in re-scheduling the project when we were unexpected called out-of-town on the first installation date. They also stood by their product and replaced two of the new screens that had small holes in them. I would certainly recommend Exterior Home Improvement.

We had a great experience with EHI from start to finish. Steven Smalley (owner) was great with his time and professionalism. The crew that completed the work was pleasant and respectful of our property at all times. They told me what they were going to do, gave me a very fair price, showed up when they said they would and completed the work as they promised. Not much more we could ask for, we will use EHI again for other projects.

We had an outstanding experience with EHI from start to finish. They discussed various options with us, and were patient and responsive to questions and changes throughout this process. They even made a financing suggestion that we ended up using as well. The workers were very friendly, professional, and outstanding in their workmanship. The workers were also very careful with the interior of our home and cleaned up well after themselves. My only suggestion is that the workers could have done a better job cleaning the exterior deck and doors when finished with the work. A single project manager was with the job from start to finish, and in regular communication (in person, email, text, phone) throughout the process. They may not be the cheapest on the street but you certainly get what you pay for with EHI - a first rate job.
