Yes! Yes! Yes! I would recommend Exterior Home Improvement without hesitation When hail damaged my roof in May, my search for the most trustworthy company to help me get a new roof began with a call to a trusted friend and long-time Indianapolis resident who also was a single woman living alone and responsible for all home maintenance (I am recently widowed and unaccustomed to getting this kind of work done, as my husband had always taken care of everything for the 37 years we were married.) She gave me Exterior Home Improvement?s number and the President?s name, Steve Smalley. She had used Mr. Smalley?s company for a number of years, and told me that for the first few years she got several estimates before awarding a job, but now she simply calls him first, as she is certain that he will do the job and do it right, so she doesn?t have to worry if she is getting the best value for her money. I did get a couple of other estimates and found Steve?s price to be fair and reasonable. But the fair price is not the primary reason for my 5-star recommendation?the service is exemplary. There were a lot of hurdles that my insurance company required, lasting over several months, but I found that no matter what the new request for information was, Steve was willing to do it?professionally and cheerfully! Even when it meant multiple trips, measurements, or correspondence with my insurance company. I was always in good hands, and confident that the roof would be completed and would be of quality materials and workmanship, and it is. Exterior Home Improvement did a bang-up job on not only my house and sunroom roofs, but also the previously water-damaged floor, and now I have a beautiful new tile floor in my sunroom. Thank you, Exterior Home Improvement, and thank you, Mr. Steve Smalley.

Chris came out to give an estimate within a day or two of my call to the company (it might have been the same day). He took pictures of all the areas, explained the problems and gave me a written estimate with pictures and explanations. I had two others give estimates, but decided on Ebert's due to their promptness, completeness of estimate and price. It was three or four weeks before they were able to complete the job, but that was about what they told me when giving the estimate. I was not home when they did the repairs, but they were clean and efficient, leaving no mess behind. The leaks are gone. They did call prior to coming to do the work. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them.

They were very professional and reasonable priced. They responded quickly, came out within 24 hours to give me a quote, ordered the siding and got the job done within the week. I was very pleased with the service and quality of work.

Excellent. First time used. Hear of them from excellent referrals from two other friends. Project started and ended as promised over a 5 day period. Work was very nicely done. Project manager followed the job closely and all workers were diligent and polite in all activities. Very pleased with the quality of the product (Pella) and the quality of the installation and the finishing work. Plan to use them again on other projects.

Excellent. Very nice guidance on choices and recommendations. Work was excellent and performed as scheduled. Extremely pleased with the quality of the product, the installation and the staining work to finish the job. There was a problem with one of the new locks from the lock manufacturer and they brought out an independent locksmith to have repairs made. Very pleased with the results.

Elbert was responsible for putting a new roof and gutters on our home. Jay, our sales rep, was very responsive and extremely helpful in making color selections. He was fabulous and the work completed exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend Elbert Construction!

We had replaces windows in our previous home so we had some experience with this type of work. We were impressed with the way Exterior Home Improvements did their measurements - with a team. Our half round window had a free standing stained glass hung against it and Exterior Home Improvements team were extremely careful when measuring to make sure they could get the stained glass piece back in correctly. They did a wonderful job with that tricky instillation. The three person team that did the instillation was amazing to watch. They had worked together for years and moved from window to window quickly and carefully. They cleaned up well and we have been very satisfied with the windows. The windows work well and we like the fact that you can tell if the windows are locked or unlocked just by looking at the lock. In the open position it stands at an angle from the window. In the closed position it is flat against the window. We would feel comfortable hiring them again for other home improvement projects.

Chris sheets was an excellent advocate for us with our insurance company. Work crew was friendly and accommodating. Job inspector fixed a few minor shingles after completion of job. We are grateful for Chris guiding us through the whole process.

Last summer there was a hail storm, we had a company come out and do some work on our roof and it was terrible. Elbert came out and were able to fix the problem free of charge for us.

Mike their representative came out and explained the whole process. He even contacted my insurance company and meet with them. Several times things needed to be explained and helped throughout the whole process. Hector came out and even changed the date & it was completed in one day. Very satisfied.

Jeffery-sales representative was polite, professional and kept us informed of project actions. Always called for appointment. Work crews were friendly, polite did a complete job and cleaned up at end.

Company was very professional. Sales Rep Michael couldn't have been any better. He was very responsive, worked with our insurance company. He accommodated our scheduling needs and change requests.

JR Lynch provided timely service and excellent oversight of claim process plus roof replacement set up. Work crew completed job in one day and left property in good shape. Pleased with customer service and quality of workmanship.

After contacting 3 companies and requesting quotes with little success, I joined Angie's List and sought out a reputable company to select to do my extensive repairs. ----- ESTIMATE: Based on the high rating I contacted Exterior Home Improvement (EHI) to provide me with an estimate. Steve Smalley, owner, came out and provided me with a very detailed estimate to include screen prints of product details in the estimate plus brochures from each manufacturer. I was impressed. ----- ROOFING & SUN-TUNNEL: The first task in the overall project was removing the old shingles and tar paper. They replaced it with quality shingles, underlayment, ridge vents, ice-prevention products for roof valley and the edges above the gutters. I love the look and they used two crews to do it in one day so I could go on vacation without worrying about more leaking in my living room ceiling. They added a sun-tunnel in my bathroom and it just amazing. It allows in so much light and were so careful not to mess up my bathroom when they installed it. I am very happy with both of them. ----- WINDOWS (vinyl / double-hung): Though I did not have hail damage to my windows I decided to replace them at this time because several had already lost their seal and it seemed like the right time. I had 6 single, 2 double & 1 triple windows plus to fixed glass windows replaced. What amazed me was they were able to remove & install all of them in one day. I was told that since the siding people would replace the window trim and they did not have to do that, they were able to finish my job in one day. I only had to take one day off work for this whole project. I love the windows. ----- SIDING, (insulated vinyl / double - 6"wide boards), SOFFIT (vinyl / 4" boards) & TRIM BOARDS (textured / PVC vinyl boards): This portion of the project took 12 work days. The first 7 days 2 men were working. Due to hospitalization of the one worker, 1 worker finished up the job. The men were just fantastic. I am very particular on how thing look because of my interior design background and they exceeded my expectations. Any concern I had they addressed immediately or when if fell into the correct order to get the work done. ----- GUTTERS and GUTTER COVERS: They went up by two different crews on 2 different days. Both look fine. I don't get real excited about gutters unless they are falling off the house. ----- FOLLOW-UP & FINALIZE the JOB: At the end of each of the steps listed above, Steve Smalley would stop by and check out the work. We discussed on the phone and in person the progress of the job, the timing of work and materials, and any concerns either of us had. I cannot begin to say how much I appreciate the thorough, well executed work all the different work teams did plus the management effort by Steve. I am so happy that I did not have to spend much time away from work to ensure this large project was done correctly. I was confident that Steve would oversee everything correctly ---- and he did exactly that. I am very happy with every aspect of this major house project. The construction crew showed up promptly once all details with my insurance company was ironed out for work to be done. The crew was polite, courteous and responsive, stopping to check for nails several times around the entire property to insure no damage to people, pets or vehicles. The siding replacement was an exact match to what I have and the architectural shingles greatly improved the looks of the house.

Perfect from start to finish. From our first meeting to job completion, they were professional in every way. Did an excellent job replacing our roof. Followed up to cover all our plants as they said they would. Cleaned up the property as they worked.

The crew completed all work on the roof in a single day. The clean up was spotless. The siding was done in half day. Both crews were quiet, polite, and careful in this work.

Kept me informed of when work was to be performed. Arrived on scheduled day. Work was 99% completed by 4 pm that day. Very little garbage left around the house. I have landscaping around the entire home and some was slightly damaged but very little. I did have some minor additional work that was supposed to have been performed (closing gable vents), but was not. I contacted the company and they adjusted the invoice for the work that was not completed. They did not suggest work to be done that I felt didn't need to be done which is big plus for me.

JR Lynch was able to 'diagnose' the reason behind our 13 year leaky chimney problem and FIX IT !! His coworker, Ty, reflashed, recaulked and repaired the decking at the base. This sounds simple enough; however, three other companies were unable to do this correctly over the 13 year period. We are so pleased with the professionalism of JR and Ty from Elbert Construction and the efficiency with which they handled our long standing issue. In addition, JR cleaned our gutters. THANK YOU! We will ONLY use Elbert Construction's services in the future.

The new windows are amazing! What a transformation. The process from bidding to construction and finishing was professional, competent and courteous. Owner, Steve Smalley explained exactly what would be done and included a timeline for completion. Documentation of the bid was detailed so that approval from the HOA was not a problem. Hilery oversaw construction. Hilery and the crew, Kevin and John worked from a checklist, assuring that work would be completed as bid. Work was completed in a timely manner. Hillery and his crew, Kevin and John were hardworking, professional and courteous. They went above and beyond what was expected. It was a pleasure to work with this crew from start to finish. Would highly recommend them and without question would use their services again.

The work was done in response to major hail damage. J. R. Lynch was very responsive to our initial calls and whenever there was an issue he responded. There were a few communication hiccups: workers showing up with the wrong gutters and others showing up without any notice. But overall the work was very good. Because of the extensive hail damage in our area of Carmel, I would assume the few issues we had were not typical of Elbert, since they were very busy in our neighborhood. Definitely would use Elbert again.
