Decks By Design built us an amazing pergola on our existing deck. Communication was easy from the beginning, and continued through completion of the project. We were provided a quote for the work and an estimated start date, which were both upheld and very reasonable. I would definitely use this company again, and highly recommend them to friends and family.

Does anyone EVER have any luck with this business??? I have called five straight days and left messages.... NO response. I am happy for them that they have so much work they can totally ignore new customers. You might think about hiring someone to answer the phone!

We needed up going with A different company but the representative was so impressive and professional I wanted to leave a positive review.

Angie's List indicates that they serve 46163 (SW Hancock County) but they do not. Be sure to check that they serve your area, but be prepared to wait a week for them to call you back.

The project was excellently planned and was a wonderful stress free experience. A bid was provided on the spot. A great portfolio was shown which allowed for customization and an example of their previous work. They were timely and professional. They came when they said they would. The employees were professional in conduct and appearance. The deck was completed in 2 days, as they said it would. I would highly recommend them. The work was high quality and the experience was fantastic.

Very happy! Deck is just what we wanted. Company was efficient, cleaned up, finished the job in time predicted. Just great job!

I called left a message and sent an e-mail via their website. No response. They get good reviews on this list and Nextdoor but if they don't respond to a request for service they obviously don't care about providing good service to their customers.

Contacted them on the phone to inquire about getting an estimate for a deck. The person on the phone scoffed when I told him my location was in Avon and rudely told me that they do not service that area. Their website is vague and says they service “Indianapolis and surrounding areas.” Also their Angie’s list information does not mention the areas they do or do not service. I would not recommend them based on this experience.

Brandon, Jamie and Stephen were great to work with, very reliable and competent. We are thrilled with our new deck. Bruce was easy to work with during the contracting process, and very well organized each step of the way. Everyone did a great job! Would definitely recommend to others!

Our deck was an eyesore due to the age and one of our rambunctious dogs trying to get to the rabbits hiding underneath it. Decks by Design tore down and disposed of our current deck and installed a new and improved one complete with a bench, planters, and pergola over the bump-out. We received an email with customer expectations and questions as well as an outline of the plan, so there was nothing unexpected with the process. They continued to communicate what would happen as the process went along, and everything went smoothly. Our new deck is beautiful, and I have enjoyed spending quality time out in my backyard again.

Bruce came to my house to look at the job and provide a quote. I wasn't there but my wife met with him and explained what we were looking for. I called later that day to speak with Bruce and ask a few questions and make sure we were on the same page now that he had been on the site. From the moment he picked up the phone, he acted like he was annoyed and bothered that I called. I asked him a few questions, but his responses were unprofessional and it wasn't hard to figure out that we wasn't interested in our business. Nonetheless, he said he would get back to me with a quote shortly. I never heard back.

We contacted them and they never got back to us.

We didn't select them, but we would use them again.

The work was good. This was my first time using them, I would recommend them to anyone. For what I got done, they did a great job. I was very pleased.

They were very responsive as we made up our minds on different features of the deck that we wanted built. They were not the cheapest but not the most expensive of the deck builders we got estimates from, but they seemed the most reliable. We had to wait 4 months for them to begin at the end of October since they were so booked, but it was definitely worth it. The results are outstanding and the new deck really adds to our home. We will certainly hire them again for additional work.

We have no complaints at all and will definitely hire them again if needed. The $35,000 project was truly a success.

I asked Decks By Design to give an estimate to restore and add to an existing deck. I took time from work to meet with them at my home. They arrived promptly and on time. Four days later I received an email that they declined to make a bid on the project, going on in the email to say they are "extremely busy." What a waste of my valuable time! NO time constraints were in place (they could do the job in October for all I care). Being up front and professional, saying they were "booked" would have been more tolerable. DO NOT think about getting an estimate from this company...they are extremely busy.

Decks By Design was fantastic! They provided a reasonable price, were prompt in their response time and service and I couldn't be happier with the finished product! I would definitely use them in the future and recommend them to anyone looking for deck work.

They did a nice job. The estimate was handled professionally and the crew that executed the work did a nice job as well. They all seemed to really enjoy what they do.

I submitted an online request for estimate for repair to a Trex deck on 5/7. When i did not hear back, I called and left a detailed message on 5/14, which has not been returned as of EOB on 5/18. Disappointing.

Service was good. There were four of them and they worked for a week. I would recommend them. They were very good. They did everything on time and the workers were good. They cleaned up and they followed up with any concerns we had. They did a good job. We also had them a couple of times earlier for other issues.

Bruce did a great job. My experience with them was great. They did a wonderful job. I have used him before. They did good quality work the first time I used him and that made me consider using him again.
