It did not go well. He rarely showed up when he said. Couldn't keep an employee. Took forever to do the fence (weather was partly to blame though) and did a shoddy job on the deck construction. The fence turned out ok, but the deck is not satisfactory. He used a reciprocating saw to make cuts and left marks on the supporting timbers. Splintered ends, bolts sticking out. Split timbers. Latch on door put on backwards. Then he said he would come back and repair it, but we have not seen him for over 2 weeks now. So, I guess we are going to find someone else to finish our deck. He may be ok for lawn care, but would not recommend him for major construction projects like fences and decks.

Maybe he has recovered from his bad times financially. I never was able to use him because he was unable to honor my Groupon.

After the truck broke down, I paid for what I thought they had achieved, but it was too hard to get them back out to finish. they were supposed to clean out the beds and repair the damage done to the yard by the truck. I got my nephews to finish the job.

They are a small company. He emailed us saying he was overwhelmed with the response to the deal; his major vehicle broke down and was unable to provide the service. His email was professional and I understood his situation.

We ended up ordering 7 yards, they spread all the mulch after edging and wedding our flowerbeds. They were very nice and worked hard (they were here for at least 4 hours & worked even in the rain for part of the time). Our landscaping looked great when they were done, clean and crisp. Thanks Carl!

Refund received through Angie's list

It did not go at all. Provider was threatened before he contacted me.

They were very friendly, very accommodating and worked quick. They did a great job.

He seemed like a good guy who got in over his head and could not provide the services promised. I believe that his only employee quit on him without notice.

The service from CNS Lawn Care and Handyman Service LLC went very well too. They again were quick and very professional and did a super job. I now have them moving my grass. They called right away, and then because they had a number of them, we will schedule you as soon as we get to you, and it was in a week or so but it was fairly prompt and he did call right away. He gave me an estimate for lawn care, since I am getting a little ancient here, I went ahead and made arrangements for him to mow the yard. I would give them 'A's across the board too, they were prompt and responsive.

We were wondering whether we would have a problem as at first there was limited communication with him. One day he showed up and did some measurements and the next day he brought the mulch over and installed it. It all looked great eventually, and I know that they were a bit swamped with how many orders they got, so I understand the delay.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. I do not suggest them because first, they have granted us and then they called later on and gave us one month time and told us that they were going to provide the service because of some issues.

The work done by Carl was excellent. The problem with responsiveness may be due more to Angies List Big Deal than the provider. So many people responded to his Big Deal he was hard to get a hold of and arrange to have the work done. When it was done, it was excellent.

We scheduled an appointment and they were no shows. Then I received a phone message that they would not be completing the job.

Got a quick response in April after purchased the big deal. Owner is polite and asking if there are other services that I need. I told him that to give me a quote to edge and clean up before installing mulch. After I received a quote from him and decided it was quite pricey, then I declined his additional service and asked I only want to have mulch installed. Then all of sudden he told me he won't able to work on this for another 6 weeks. He told me that he can do that on May 25th (6 weeks). It is June 12, and I haven't heard from him. Angie's List contacted me about the owner cannot honor the deal.

The arrangement and completion of the job was as scheduled and promised

It's been 7 weeks since we purchased the Angie's List Big Deal. We have contacted them 4 times trying to schedule delivery and installation of the mulch. We have not heard from them since the very beginning when they confirmed our purchase. They indicated they had received a great response from the Big Deal and it would be mid May before delivery, but it's June 10th and we still haven't heard back from them. Very unprofessional. Feels like a scam since we cannot get a hold of them now.

I ended up getting a refund on the Big Deal. I looked them up before I bought it and felt that due to their high rating I thought it would be a good experience. It seemed like they were slammed with requests because the date for my service kept getting pushed back. To their credit, they were good about communicating with me and I harbor no ill feelings toward them. At this point in the season, however, it's just somewhat late for mulching.

The provider was unable to provide the deal. When I first called, I was told that he was running behind but that he would be able to reach out and schedule something within three weeks. I had to reach out to him to find out what was going on, and he did email back to let me know that he wouldn’t be able to do it and that he was working with Angie’s List to find a competitor to take the job. I do feel a bit sorry for him, and he had some mechanical difficulties, so I am not too upset with him.

We are very disappointed in how this has turned out. We purchased the Big Deal Back in April and it almost the 1st of June and we are now just hearing from the company telling us they cannot perform the service.

I purchased the Big Deal from this provider on 4/20/13. As of 5/31/13, I have yet to receive my mulch or a refund. Provider has been slow and sometimes non-respondent when myself or my husband try to reach out to him to get estimated delivery/install date. After SEVERAL emails/phone calls trying to get a scheduled delivery date, promises to return my calls, and excuses why he was unable to return my calls, he did finally get back to us and ask if 5/30/13 would work for delivery/install date. We responded with 'yes, and we hope that the quality of work he provides is better than the customer service we have received so far.'. At 11:50pm on 5/30/13 (date he was scheduled to deliver/install), he emailed a lengthy email with reasons why he hasn't been able to get our mulch installed. Specifically: "First off, I?d like to apologize to you for the way the Big Deal went. I?m a new advertiser with Angie?s List and this was the first Big Deal I?ve ran and will be the last. I?m just as disappointed how things went as you must be. I went into this with a can-do attitude. I?d like you to know, I?m not the kind of guy, you might think I am. I do care about my business and the clients I serve. As proof of that, before the Big Deal hit the street, I was working 8am to 9 to 930pm, 7 days a week. I?m 48 years old and was and am still for the most part, working those same hours. That?s over 90 hours a week. I?m serious about my business. As proof of that, look at my reviews before the Big Deal. After the Big Deal came out, I had a series of unfortunate issues that played a part in how things went. The differential went out in my work truck and I had to rent a U-Haul to continue working. Between those two things, it cost me almost $1500, which left me with just enough money to purchase gas to save my lawn mowing business. I had no money to even purchase mulch. The guy who was working for me, quite without notice. I was contacted by the Big Deal rep late in the week, and rushed into making a decision so the sale could go out that weekend. Furthermore, I was not told I could sale as many or as few mulch coupons as I wanted. He said 34, so I thought that was typical. Yes, I made a stupid decision. But I do believe, I?m not the only one who has fault here. I?m not asking for you to forgive me, but try to put yourself in my shoes and understand the decision I was left with. The situation was to the point, if I purchased mulch for one more coupon, I couldn?t have even purchased gas. I don?t believe I?ve ever been in such bad shape. I hope this email gives you some kind of idea how things went so wrong. I hope you have a nice weekend and once again, I?m sorry" Honestly, I feel for the guy. However, that does not make up for the fact that I have not received my mulch, nor has he offered to refund my money. Furthermore, blaming his Angie's List Big Deal rep for his poor business decisions is extremely unprofessional. If you do the math, 34ppl purchased $89 worth of mulch, which comes to a total of $3026. Of which, $1500 went to his broke down truck dilemma - what happened to the other $1526?? All spent on gas? Too many excuses to even make it reasonable. I am extremely disappointed with the entire situation, and at this point, am not sure I will ever receive my mulch or a refund from this gentleman.
