Description of Work: Kyle and Joe performed an inspection of gas fireplace and flue. Kyle tested the flue for proper draft, etc. and inspected and noted pan-flashing (on chimney) needed to be sanded & painted this summer. He also found a bird's nest underneath chimney cover. He suggested we install a bird and animal guard if we wanted to do so (we ordered one from them). Everything was explained well and thoroughly. We were pleased with their patience and attention to detail and willingness to explain everything we asked.

Description of Work: Did a through cleaning and inspection of our chimney.

Description of Work: We were very pleased with Beck's. We had been told almost three years ago by another company (who I believe is out of business now) that we needed nearly $2000 in repairs. Being unable to afford the repairs at the time, we stopped using the fireplace. We're ready to use it now, so we called Beck's last week to schedule a safety inspection. We were very upfront about the previous suggested repairs. Beck's had every opportunity to go along with what the other company had said and get paid for repairs that we didn't need. Instead, the technician came out and honestly evaluated our fireplace and chimney. He put a camera up into the flue and invited us to look at the display with him. He suggested alternatives to the previously suggested repairs since he disagreed that the repairs were necessary at this time and let us know there are other options if and when the repairs are ever needed. Based on the expertise he shared with us, we have complete confidence in his assessment. He even vacuumed out some cobwebs that had formed in the fireplace. I love finding a company I feel we can trust. Trust like that brings back repeat business!

Description of Work: The only reason we didn't use them was because they required payment for an estimate, at that time. It would have been applied to the bill, but we simply don't do that. he was the only one of four list members that we called for an estimate, who responded, which we thought was very professional. he responded immediately, via email, and promptly answered questions, and in the emails he was professional and courteous.

Description of Work: Lied about getting on roof to inspect chimney before I arrived (no marks in snow on roof). | |Told me not to use chimney and to throw stove away. Said it was inefficient. A piece of metal is as efficient the day it was made as now not taking bricks into account but the reasoning was age not bricks. | |Incorrectly measured clay flue liner. | |Did not perform work (chimney sweep and camera inspection). I was only charged for service call. Which is fine , but when I call and set up a sweep and inspection, that's what I want , not someone to tell me that they can already guarantee my flue has cracks without even doing the inspection, and offer to save me money by not performing the work. What it really did was waste my money because I paid someone $85 for their opinion, instead of $225 for video data and a sweep. overall nothing was told I didn't already know and I should have just made them do the sweep. A lot of information was told that I do not believe or agree with. Really couldn't believe the talk of getting on the roof when it was obvious they hadn't even pulled in the driveway or left the truck. If you can't be honest I guess I don't want you sweeping my chimney anyway. Find another sweep.

Description of Work: I have last used his services for chimney cap replacements. We have been using their services for about 15 years. I have dealt closely with the owner as he does a lot of the work himself. They specialize in chimney sweeps, caps, and small repairs. They are a great company.

Description of Work: Long dryer run vent. Did a great job. We've used them before and will continue to. We should have had them go ahead with the chimney sweep while they were hear but they dryer was the big issue. Recommend and will use again.

Description of Work: They inspected my chimney for cleaning need, cleaned it, showed me what a mess it had been, advised about future repair need inside fireplace. Pleasant,, efficient, thorough. Will call them again.

Description of Work: They did a great job; Gene got to my house on time and performed inspections on both fireplaces in my home. He replaced damper clips on both fireplaces then completed the outside inspection. He did a thorough job and nice work. Would recommend and would use again!

Description of Work: Gene Beck and another showed up right on time. Very knowledgable about my gas fireplaces. He fixed the blower on my gas fireplace and cleaned the glass. He looked at another gas log fireplace that was not drafting properly and advised us on how to get it fixed. He looked at the exterior of the house chimneys and advised us on some standard maintenance procedures. Very helpful, punctual and professional. I highly recommend.
