Beck's Chimney Sweep

Beck's came to inspect two chimney's in a house we were looking to purchase. We had them clean the chimney's while they were there. They were very thorough and did an excellent job. We will definitely use them in the future.

Kyle arrived slightly before the 11AM appointment time. Explained how to close my flue without propping a tool (ineffectively) holding the flue shut. Oh by the way - took his shoes off each time he came in (several times while bringing in his gear.) Donned a hazmat suite and mask and placed a vacuum in the fireplace box to catch any dust and proceeded to send his brushes up the chimney several times. The ash fell into box but I could not see any escaping dust. He then shoveled up the ash and put in a bag and put his equipment away and took out. He then got his extension ladder off this really cool automated ladder rack on top his van - got up to the roof and informed me that the "new" cap placed on top my chimney by the maintenance co. had not been painted on top just around the visible edges. Also recommended I have them cut the tree branches away form the chimney which might effect draft. Very pleasant and was out of here around noon. Very impressive!

Kyle was prompt and professional and took care of our needs. Price was a little higher than average dryer vent cleanings (approx. $100), but we like working with Beck's. They have also cleaned our chimney in the past and we were pleased with their service.

The repair to our chimney looks very unprofessional. Old cracked mortar was not removed, instead new mortar was placed right over the old mortar, on our firplace soldiering outside. Presents a very uneven look and unprofessional look to it. The crew splashed mortar all over our house and on the ground. Fireplace had multiple black marks on brick step inside house after chimney sweep. I am in the Military and my wife decided to have this work accomplished while I was deployed to the middle east this summer. Our original estimate was for around $350, but was charged $623 for a poor job. Also when she called to talk to Beck's Chimney about the quality of work, the owner was very rude to her and started yelling. He, Carmen Clift was very unprofessional and took advantage of my wife.

.We had used Becks many years ago to fix a fireplace chimney and were pleased with their work then. When this problem arose and I saw them on Angies List, I called them again. We were pleased with the responsiveness and the workmanship in taking care of this problem. Dave is a pleasure to work with.

Arrived when promised, professionally dressed. Covered anything in my living room that could be affected by soot. Had all the proper equipment and did an excellent thorough job of inspecting and cleaning the entire fireplace system.

Beck's came out and swept the chimney on a wood burning fireplace. They also sealed cracks in the chimney cap and added a bird and animal guard to the furnace flue. We have used Becks on numerous occasions and have found them to be reliable, professional and prompt.

The 2 technicians arrived before the scheduled appointment time and were very professional and courteous. They estimated the service to take about an hour but were finished in about 30 minutes. They wore protective clothing and did not make any mess in the house.

We have used Beck's Chimney Sweeps for many years and have been happy with their professionalism and knowledge. This time I had a question regarding our gas starter pipe. Dave the Sweep pointed out that the holes were corroded and that the pipe might need replacing. He referred me to O'Malia's Fireplace Shop who could install a new gas starter pipe.

Left a message and received a call back within the hour. Scheduled service for next day at 9:30am. Dave arrived on time and was very professional. He explained how the fireplace works and how to operate it. He cleaned the glass and then inspected the chimney outside. He applied the Angie's list discount of $10.00.

We had just purchased a rental property that had a fireplace with a wood burning insert installed. We wanted to get the whole fireplace system inspected so we would know if was safe for our renters to use. Beck's Chimney Sweep was recommended to us by a friend so we had them do the inspection. They walked us through the entire process and showed us both the good and the bad. It turned out that the insert had some age related problems and was not installed in keeping with current safety codes. They seamed very knowlegable gave us advice and guidance on what to do next.

We've used Beck's for chimney cleaning and repair for a number of years. This year was just a cleaning but they were prompt and my wife said the tech did a great job explaining what he found. He also cleaned up everything before he left.

The gentleman inspected our fireplace and indicated that it did not need to be cleaned. He explained that it was in overall good shape, and pointed out the specific areas he checks for to determine status. In addition, he checked the chimney outside and indicated that sometime in the near future, we should consider having the top of our chimney repaired. The design of our chimney is such (a stairstep design at the top) that water can collect and cause eventual leaks and deterioration. He provided a recommendation of a company that could provide this. He provided outstanding service!

We've used Beck for about 3 decades, and although the original owner has retired, he has trained his successor well.

Initial contact was my phone call to Carmen at Beck's. She was very knowledgeable and helpful in giving me understanding of services offered, and in setting an appointment. Dave came to my residence on-time, and performed services exactly as agreed. I found him extremely competent, thorough, and neat, as well as willing to answer my several questions about fireplaces and chimneys. In addition he left not a trace of residue or dust in our house. I am highly pleased with Beck's performance and will use them regularly.

We had them before and we liked their service. They were very fair and I think we had them three other times over a period of years. They did a good job. They were right on time. The staff friendliness and professionalism was wonderful.

It went very well! This is the second time I've used Beck's and they are so pleasant and professional! My dryer vent was way overdue and now my dryer is definitely drying the clothes faster. I was glad to have the dryer vent grate put on since my husband had not gotten to replacing it yet. He was happy they did it for $35.

We had a down draft and a smoky smell every time we lit a fire in the fireplace. As far as I know, he solved the problem. He removed the cover from the fireplace chimney and installed a bird animal guard so that the flu would draft straight out. I lit a fire and did not smell smoke as I used to. He was prompt and efficient. He knew his work. We trusted him because I got his name from Angie’s List and he had a super service award. He lived up to his reputation. He gave us some good advice as well.
