Beck's Chimney Sweep

We are so pleased with the service we received from Beck's Chimney Sweep. We used them again this year to clean the chimney and check for problems. A crack in the fire box was discovered and we were given 2 options with costs involved. After choosing an option, Mr. Beck and his very capable assistant corrected the problem. They were on time, well identified and because of their team work finished very quickly. I am always so pleased that they are so very careful and clean. The fireplace is in the living room in our home and I didn't even have to vacuum when they left. I will call them again next year.

Excellent service all around, prompt, efficient, clean. We've had Gene Beck and his crew come year after year to sweep our chimney and when we called for additional service during his busiest time of the year, he was at our door right the next morning, practically at the crack of dawn, at no extra charge. Our cast iron stove is a fireplace insert. It's in our living room, and after cleaning it, sweeping the chimney and vacuuming it all, they never left a speck of dust on anything that hadn't been there before. So, many thanks to Gene and his crew.

They arrived in a timely manner, were courteous, told me what they found in both chimneys and made recommendations for repairs and for caps to keep out birds and small animals.

I was very pleased with the job Mr. Beck and his assistant did. They had already installed the chimney cap by the time I arrived (they were running early)! Upon inspection, Mr. Beck didn't think my chimney had been used enough to warrant cleaning this year, but did point out the problem with the back wall of the firebox. They were able to fix this on the spot, and also talked to me about the cost of the new flu, which I'll have installed later this winter. I've used Beck's Chimney Sweep before, and am happy to report that from now on, they're my "go to" chimney guys.

We originally called regarding tuck pointing and sealing our 21 year old chimney. Once he looked at it he determined it did not need tuckpointing. The few hairline cracks in the mortar could be handled with the sealing. We very much appreciated his honesty and how he ultimately saved is money.

This company came very highly recommended, and I would pass along the same. I was recommend to Beck's from a former competitor/fire fighter who said that Beck's was one of only two sweeps in the city that they would trust to do a good job. We bought a house that had been vacant and did not have a cap on the chimney. There were raccoons that had been in the chimney. Beck's came out and cleaned the chimney and fire box, installed the cap, and inspected the bricks and mortar. They advised that we had some mortar missing, but that it didn't need repaired, just to watch it. He said we would need to repair it if the bricks became loose, and that they could do that repair for us. They were right on time, quick (only took about 20 minutes total), and VERY clean and neat. They also gave advice on how to clean the soot marks from the brick fireplace surround.

They responded quickly to my call, and after examining the chimneys, installed 2 chimney caps. They were courteous, dressed professionally, and did a great job. I highly recommend them.

They arrived on time and sealed the ash trap (apparently this is common in my type of house). They inspected the chimney but said it didn't need to be cleaned. So I was only charged for the sealing.

Our new home has two fireplaces and they were both full of ashes. They inspected both chimneys and advised us they were in good condition and only one of them needed to be cleaned.

We hired Beck's Chimney Sweep about 10 years ago when we bought the house. I kept his magnet with his phone number. I called his number, the secretary was very courteous, told me exactly how much they charge and scheduled the appointment within two days. Gene Beck came on time with one of his employees. They worked fast and they were very clean. They were done in about 15 minutes.

They checked all over to make sure the fireplace was OK and they showed me how to use it.

Great work, they showed up exactly on time, were in and out in 30 minutes and didn't leave a speck of soot. They also helped me remove gas logs and fake ashes from the fireplace as we were capping the gas line. Super helpful.

Gene Beck came himself with one other worker, they were professional, thorough, and went beyond the call of duty, they even cleaned the fireplace door. I would highly recommend them again and will use them again.

He was very easy to work with and reliable. He did an excellent job and cleaned up very well. He explained what he was doing and the importance of and gave suggestions for maintenance.

They charged a fee to come out to my home and applied the fee to the total cost but I wasn't able to compare their prices to others, however, it seemed reasonable especially coordinating with other member reports online. I'd use them again and recommend them to others!

Instead of the estimates I received of $5,000 they bid $159. They seemed to know what the chimney needed more so than the other companies that came out. They did the work while they were here for the estimate. They did good work and I will use them again.

They were very responsive, they tried very hard to get here quickly and they did. He was very honest in telling us we did not have a chimney problem, that it was a problem with the foundation. They gave a very honest assessment. They are coming back to do more work.

I have used them in the past. They have cleaned and repaired my chimney. They are professionals and they have never left a mess; they do very clean work. The last time they came I asked if they would be able to quickly look at the dryer vent and they willingly did so and did not charge extra for this.
