He did a very good job. He was timely, pleasant and followed up well. He gave me good advice and I was happy with him.

The technician was 30 minutes early! I wasn't expecting him so early and I was in the shower! That was embarrassing! Originally, we contacted Hanlon's Fireplace Supply (upon recommendation from O'Malia's Fireplace) to purchase the fireplace firebox panel. They quoted $110 for the panel and $20 for shipping and it would take four weeks. After seven, we cancelled the order and called Beck's. The receptionist said that a panel could be made and it would cost between $200 and $300 for dissassembly, cutting the panel to fit, and installation. Since we were preparing for installation of a prefabricated panel, my husband had already taken apart the firebox. I told the receptionist this, and asked if there would be any price difference. She said to ask the technician about it. The technician cut the panel and installed it with some screws. He was polite and professional in getting the job done. The bill was $225 for a 'brick' looking panel made out of some type of treated cement. I thought it was expensive, especially since 1/3 of the job was done for him. The technician claimed that since most of the companies that made these panels went broke, Beck's had to get them from Denmark. I think they are overpriced, but since you can't get the parts from O'Malia's or a fireplace supply company, you are stuck paying a high price. (My husband replaced the very same panel in our last home for $40.) Before having the technician do the actual job, get the invoice ahead of time. I didn't and wished that I had.

I was remodeling a fireplace surround and needed help with redirecting the vent. 3 sections needed to be re-arranged. I called and the people were polite and nice. I was scheduled several days out to have them come take a look. I always have a problem with getting charged a service fee to come out and do an estimate as these guys do. The guy who came to the house was on time and a nice guy also he spent some time answering some basic questions for me. The reason I didn't have an service done was that apparently my job was either to small or not interesting enough for them. He tried to make the job seem too big but in reality it was just a change in the way the existing pieces were arranged. I was referred to another place. I was not charged but it was a waste of time. I eventually just did the job myself though I was willing to pay to have it done by a professional.

Great service. Exceptionally conscientious about clean-up. On-time, offered business card at door prior to asking to come in, which was greatly appreciated. Friendly, gave me tips on how often to have swept, things to look out for, etc. Would definitely use again and recommend.

We use a wood stove fireplace insert to supplement our gas heat daily, all winter. We've used Beck's for over 10 years, at two different houses, to keep the chimney clean & safe. They're responsive (returning messages the same day) and usually can set up a non-emergency appointment within a week. They do an excellent job every year, and include other maintenance advice and tasks when appropriate, for which I trust them completely.

Arrived on time. Put down floor covering. Promptly cleaned the chimney and repaired the damaged flue. Friendly, efficient, professional.

He arrived a few minutes early, put down carpet covering. Did the job very efficiently and cleanly in forty-five minutes or less. (Single story house.) Price is $152.00, but Angie's List mentioned they gave a 10% Senior discount. Still seems a little high, but very professional, friendly. Would use again since he is close and efficient.

This is the third time we have had service from them. They are always reliable. They are also going to repair our bricks on our chimney at a later date, dependent on weather conditions. We would definitely hire agian in future!

He had a special camera to run up the chimney flu and down to the ash flue and was able to discover a large crack and made those repairs.

Beck's was able to schedule my appointment within a week. This was more than acceptable considering it was their busy season and it was during the holidays. Beck's confirmed the appointment via phone a few days before. Dave Clift called when he was thirty minutes out from my home. It was raining/snowing that day. Before Dave took one step in my home, he laid down a towel to step on. He then took of his shoes before continuing his work. He laid down a cover in front of the fireplace and was very careful not to get any mess anywhere in the house. The job took about 45 minutes. It is refreshing to work with a company who is considerate of other's property and who truly desires to exceed expectations.

It went very well. This is the 3rd time I've used this company, and will continue to use them in the future. Dave was very knowledgeable about fireplace safety, made some recommendations, and answered my questions about possibly converting to a gas log fireplace. He also recommended who to contact for that. As always, a pleasure to do business with.

Showed up when expected and did a first rate job. Also explained to us how the ceiling fan in our fireplace room could be the reason behind the smoke we were experiencing. AND advised that we didn't have to have the chimney cleaned every year given how infrequently we use it. I do wish however that they had a lower price for a one story house given that there's less to clean and less climbing involved which translates to less time and time is money as they say. I'll definitely call them again in a couple of years (but I'll ask for a 1-story discount).

Also determined that the dryer vent had separated in the drywall. He also helped me locate the exact location in the wall where the dryer vent had separated. He was exactly right on the location. That was my problem all along. Made repairs based on his input and all is well. Charged me for the minimum service call amount not the cost of a vent cleaning. Very satisfied.

We had not had our chimney cleaned for over 4 years and Dave worked for over an hour cleaning (once equipment was brought into the house and set up). He spread a tarp over the carpet in front of the fireplace and wore a hazmat suite while cleaning.

We had a very good experience with this company. I called to schedule the service and got an appt. for two weeks later as this is their busy season. Gene Beck arrived on time for the appt. and was very pleasant and professional. He was efficient and had the job done in less than 45 minutes and left no mess at all behind. Very nice man and I always like to give our business to the local companies rather than to the larger chains! Highly recommend them and will use them again.

Everything has been excellent. He was supposed to be here at 11, but called when he got out of another job earlier to see if I would like him to come by early. They are very, very courteous and thoughtful in every way. They are very reliable and I couldn?t be happier with their work.

The gentleman arrived early for the appointment, which was great because I was home on my lunch hour to meet him. He began working quickly and carefully, making sure not to get the carpet dirty. He was quick, but thorough. He was kind enough to answer my many questions, and showed me a few cracks in the firebox that may need correcting in the future (but didn't try to sell me extra services...he told me what they offer, but there was no pressure). I will use Beck's again next year for sure.

Appointment was made about three to four weeks in advance due to their busy schedule. Dave Clift called me about 45 minutes ahead of the scheduled appointment to confirm the appointment and to see if he could come a little earlier. Dave arrived as promised and went straight to work. I told Dave that we had a gas log fireplace in the basement, so he immediately went to check that out and found no problems. He also took time to explain about a missing damper clip in the basement fireplace. I mentioned to Dave that one of the glass fireplace doors would "stick" and he made an adjustment which totally fixed the problem. He proceeded to do the chimney and flue cleaning and checked the chimney from the roof. He used a large floor blanket to protect the carpet and floor. No tools were on anything but his floor blanket. He cleaned up everything very well prior to leaving. Dave was very professional and very prompt.
