Went very well, and am leaning toward having them do the work.

They had installed the fence originally 4 years ago and I called to get an estimate for the repairs. The young man who responded came out prepared to do the work himself that day (within 24 hours of my call) but the gate damage was too extensive. We scheduled the repair, the work was extremely reasonable - less than I think I would have had to pay for the raw materials and some new tools retail - and the gentleman who was here inspected the entire area and did some other adjustments as well. He even did all this in the face of nasty cold rainy weather.

Andy came and listened to our needs. He was very responsive in trying to come up with solutions that fit our requests. His company came up with a very nice method of gates that served our plans quite nicely. The communication was excellent.

They replaced 25 boards. They came out very fast.

The purpose of this screen was simply to block view of neighbors' utilities that were recently installed right near our front door. Jan came out and really helped with the design of the fence and gave good advice as to how to determine how long it should be and where it should start and stop. The company honored my request that they complete the work within a specific time line, even though there were a few hiccups with utility marking and tree roots in the way. On site workers were courteous, knowledgeable, and worked quickly.

It was a positive experience in all respects.

The guy who came out to do the job worked very hard and he did most of the work himself. If there were a few changes that I wanted, they did not hesitate to make them for me. The owner was conscientious and even came out when the job was completed to make sure everything was OK. The fence looks very nice.

They promised to come out in 2 weeks but it was more like 10. Quality was fine, but it was frustrating to wait 4 times longer than what I was told.

Good experience. Appreciated Mike staying late, I was stuck in traffic. Helped me load the rails and was very helpful. Would purchase supplies from the company again.

Mike Ward, the owner did everything in a very timely manner. He was quick to give me an estimate, was on time for all appointments and the work was completed before the promised completion date. I have used Award's Rustic Fence Company before I joined Angie's List. I am currently using the company to install a fence at another location. I find Mike easy to deal with and helpful. The workers were very competent, informative and polite. I received another estimate for this job. The other estimate was much higher.

Estimate was exact and left when they said. Professional attitude, cleaned up well after work completed. Returned phone calls promptly. Worked quickly while here and cleaned up all debris and trimmings from a bush that needed to be done to complete work. Extremely happy. Will not hesitate to call if needed again.

Company gave estimate that was accepted May 19, 2006. Company said fence would be completed in 3-4 weeks. After nine weeks they said it would be completed at any time. My phone calls were not returned. When I called to cancel order and make them aware I was hiring someone else I was called back and told they could do the work the next day. I said I wasn't interested in having them perform the task. I had another company out which gave a similar estimate. Work completed in two and half weeks.

We tried to schedule the installation of the fence, which we understand is subject to weather conditions, for about 2 months. The most frustrating part of this exercise was getting the company to return phone calls. We have no objection to the actual work; in fact, we are very satisfied with the end product. But we were/are so frustrated by the lack of communication from the company we would not hire them again. It was very irritating to have the start date pushed back 4-5 times and to never have a call initiated by the company. We always, always had to call them first and repeatedly.

I am very impressed by Mike's character and ethics in this situation. He was not responsible for the fence as it had been installed 8/13/98, but he stood by his work and replaced it at no charge to me. Labor and materials he took care of and finished the job in one day. Mike Ward took care of the problem without any haggling. He wanted to be fair. He felt that the job that cost $1089 should have help up better.

They matched the fence I had on the other side of the yard that was not standard and it was perfect.

Absolutely horrible people to do business with! No signed contract, and threatened to cut my fence down!

IT WAS OK EXPERIENCE, IT JUST TOOK AWHILE FROM INITIAL VISIT TO COMPLETION. THE WEATHER HELD THEM UP. THE FENCE LOOKS GREAT, THEY JUST DIDN'T CLEAN UP AROUND POSTS THAT WERE IN THE GRASS AREA.

VERY HARD WORKING. WEATHER CAUSED ISSUES. THEY CAME BACK and RESPONDED QUICKLY and PROFESSIONALLY TO ANY PROBLEMS WE FOUND. VERY PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS. EXCELLENT PRICING. WE HAVE USED THEM BEFORE and THE PRICE and WORK IS CONSISTENTLY WONDERFUL. THEY USE GOOD MATERIALS

FOLLOW UP IS EXCELLENT, DOES WHAT IS BEST TO THE JOB TASK. PROVIDES EXCELLENT SERVICE AND AN EXCELLENT PRODUCT.

THE OWNER WAS QUICK TO RESPOND AND GIVE US AN ESTIMATE. THEN IT TOOK OVER A MONTH TO GET THE JOB FINISHED. PROBLEMS INCLUDED FAILURE TO EVEN ORDER THE APPROPRIATE MATERIALS FOR HIS CREW (SUB-CONTRACTORS) TO DO THE WORK, SO ONLY PARTS COULD BE COMPLETED AT A TIME. ONLY REPEATED CALLS AND SINCERE THREATS TO FIND SOMEONE ELSE TO FINISH THE JOB FINALLY GOT THE PROJECT COMPLETED.

WE REQUESTED AN ESTIMATE AT THE BEGINNING OF JANUARY. WE RECEIVED THE ESTIMATE, LOWER THAN OTHERS WE RECEIVED. WE WERE TOLD THE OFFER WAS GOOD FOR ONLY A WHILE, SO WE QUICKLY RESPONDED YES. WE WERE HOPING THE FENCE WOULD BE DONE DURING THE MIDDLE OF SPRING TIME. IT TOOK THEM ABOUT 3 MONTHS AFTER THAT EXPECTED DATE, THOUGH, TO FINISH IT. THEY HAD TO COME OUT AND MARK IT A COUPLE OF TIMES. I HAD TO CALL ABOUT 6-7 TIMES TO GET THEM TO COME OUT TO BUILD THE FENCE. EACH TIME I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD BE HERE WITHIN A FEW DAYS, THEY DIDN'T SHOW UP NOR CALL US. THEY FINALLY FINISHED IT IN JULY. THEN, THEY BILLED US FOR $200+ MORE THAN THE ESTIMATE. I SENT THE CHECK FOR THE AMOUNT OF THE ESTIMATE, AND SAID THAT WE EXPECTED THAT AMOUNT. WARD'S FENCE RESPONDED SOME NONSENSE ABOUT THE RIGHT TO RAISE RATES, AND SAID IF WE DIDN'T PAY THE REST WE COULD LOSE THE WARRANTY ON THE FENCE. WHICH IS FINE WITH US, BECAUSE WE WOULDN'T CALL THEM TO FIX ANY PROBLEMS. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS AWFUL.

AFTER WE WERE FINALLY ABLE TO SET A DATE FOR OVERVIEW WITH CREW AND A DATE FOR WORK, THEY WERE PROMPT, EVEN EARLY, AND CLEAN AND NEAT ABOUT THE WORK. TOOK TWO DAYS. RESULTS ARE GREAT AND JUST WHAT WE SIGNED UP FOR.

I DEALT WITH THE OWNER AND HE WAS PROMPT TO QUOTE THE WORK. HE RESCHEDULED THE WORK TO BE COMPLETED SEVERAL TIMES (SEVERAL WEEKS LATE TO BEGIN THE WORK). I PAID HIM IN FULL ONCE THE WORK WAS COMPLETED. A FEW DAYS LATER I NOTICED A DEFECT IN THE FENCE (GAPS IN THE VERTICAL BOARDS). I CALLED SEVERAL TIMES AND FINALLY GOT THROUGH FROM A NEIGHBOR'S PHONE (HE APPARENTLY SCREENS. HE PUT OFF LOOKING AT THE DEFECT FOR WEEKS. HE FINALLY STOPPED BY 1 HOUR LATE FOR HIS SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT AT MY RESIDENCE AND I WAS TEMPORALLY OFF THE PREMISES AT THAT TIME. HE THEN LEFT A SHORT VOICEMAIL TO ME STATING EXACTLY: ''WE'RE HERE, YOU'RE NOT, WE'RE GONE'' AND PROMPTLY LEFT. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED HIM BACK (5 MINUTES LATER) AND HE DIDN'T ANSWER HIS PHONE. SINCE THEN I HAVE TRIED LEAVING SEVERAL PHONE MESSAGES TO RESCHEDULE THE FIX AND HE HAS NOT RETURNED MY CALLS. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PERSON AND HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED WITH SUCH LACK OF RESPECT FROM A PAID CONTRACTOR IN MY LIFE.

INSTALLED FENCE FOR US IN QUICK TIME FRAME, VERY GOOD ABOUT WORKING US INTO SCHEDULE. FENCE LOOKS GREAT, REALLY MEETS OUR NEEDS WELL.
