Absolute Comfort Plumbing Heating Cooling Geotherm

I was not home while they did the service but I assume they did the job well. I went with the foam cleaning. I had no problem scheduling or contacting the company. They called to let me know the service had been done. The person I spoke with over the phone was very professional and good at working around my schedule. She represented the company well.

We are finishing our basement and needed to have a basement bathroom vented. While I am somewhat handy (have done most of the basement work myself), I took bids for this project since I do not have the necessary tools to drill a hole through my brick wall so the duct/exhaust could be routed outside. We had a handful of highly rated companies on Angies' List provide bids. Absolute Comfort was the last of them to come out and offer an estimate. There price was higher than the rest, but I was told by the technician (Chris) it was because Absolue Comfort was quoting me a price that includes rigid duct (sheet metal) instead of using flex duct (essentially ribbed plastic). He said the other companies were probably planning on using flex duct and he wouldn't recomment doing that because, ".... it says on the box itself that flex duct should not be run greater than 14 ft when being used for bathroom exhaust". Not completely sold, I proceeded to not only research it myself, but i also called each of the other bidding companies to cofirm. Sure enough, he was right. Each of the other companies was going to use flex duct and did not think using actual sheet metal was necessary (stating there is no code stating you can't use flex duct). However, my thorough research into the matter convinced me sheet metal was the absolute way to go (no punn intended), and using flex duct (like all the other companies wanted to do) would have been wrong. The reason ? ...... my basement bathroom is centered in the middle of my basement. We have a larger than average house (about 4,500 or so sq ft) and it has a large footprint. Because the bathroom is in the middle, it means the distance from the bathroom exhaust fan to the exterior wall is over 30ft and would require a hanful of bends and turns along the way. Everything I read in my research indicated flex duct running longer than 12ft-20ft (depending on # of turns in the run) would create problems for air flow carrying moisture from a bathroom. Sheet metal (or any type of smooth, rigid ducting) allows the air to flow much smoother with far less friction, which allows it /the moisture, to travel greater distances withing stalling out, or getting caught up along the inside of the duct. Flex duct, on the other hand, has the spiral wiring inside which creates a lot more friction for the same amount of air flow over a distance. And I'm sure that's exactly why it says on the box it should not be used for distances over 14ft for bathroom fans (as Absolute Comfort pointed out). With all that said, based on this experience, it appears Absolute Comfort was the only company that really considered the extra factors of my bathroom location. As a home owner who wants things done right, not just cheap, I really appreciated that they thought it through for me and didn't just take the easy/cheap way out. I'm not saying flex duct 'couldn't' have been used and worked out okay, I don't know fore sure either way. However, I'm not a fan of doing things just to code since "code" is usually the minimum requirement and not necessarily the ''best'' approach. The fact that the other companies didn't even recomment/mention using the better duct material, tells me they either had no clue or they do all these type jobs the same, or both. Either way, I'm not into cookie cutter services, especially when my situation is unique. Not only did I (based on my research) fully agree with Absolute Comfort's decision on the duct, but they were super nice and professional through every step of the way. The phone receptionist was always super responsive and easy to talk to, and Chris (the guy who did the install) was as professional looking and acting as I've seen. I rated the price a B (Good) instead of an A (Excellent), but that doesn't mean it wasn't fair or inline with other bids, because it was. I realize it costs a little more to have a guy come out and do a smaller job than it does to have a bigger job done, so I willingly paid for it and have no compalaints. I just have a hard time calling $410 for a few hours of fairly straight forward work ''Excellent''. The only real complaint I had was the hole through my brick wall (allowing the pipe to run outside) was not (in my opinion) properly backfilled and insulated. Not that it was done poorly, but compared to the quality of the rest of his work it seemed minimal/adequate and not "good". Even with that minor issue, I would have still given them an A for quality, but the fact that they quickly addressed my concern as soon as I mentioned not being happy with this part of the work, more than made up for it. As a picky man who is fairly handy, and usually regret hiring out work vs doing it myself. I can honestly say I was pleased this time and would recommend them to others.

Did a great job on cleaing and checkup. Also had a drip line installed on gas line.

They showed me the problem and explained the dangers and the pros and cons.. The finish up and cleanliness was exceptional - far beyond my expectations. I will use these folk again and will not hesitate to recommend them for any heat/ac work.

hose bib was had a leak so they couldn't finish the job. I did not call them back out after the hose bib was fixed.

My experience was fine. We got what we paid for. They cleaned the coils on the outside but I thought they would do the coils on the inside unit itself. They gave us good advice and things that may need to be addressed in the future. Scheduling went well and the technician arrived on time for the appointment. I may not use their service in the future since they seem a little pricey for additional services.

That was like 3 years ago. It was just the cleaning of the air conditioning. They went fine. I think it was $49. It was very good and his honesty.

They cleaned up after themselves. I know that he explained how it works.

Purchased the big deal for $49 and everything went smoothly. Would recommend them in the future.

Besides the furnace he went to the attic and wrote recommendations that were further needed. He was very helpful in explaining my situation.

It was not good. They came out and looked at my heat pump. They said that I was really low on charge so they put a bunch of Freon on the heat pump. After a month, I got another system malfunction so another guy came out. He didn’t really look at the unit. He looked at the coil and told me that the coil is bad and that I need a new coil. He didn’t check for any leaks or anything. I went ahead and agreed to have a new coil. A different guy came out to put the coil in but the coil did not fit so he called the second guy that came out. He asked if he did a leak check and the second guy said no. At that point, I just told him to take the coil back because I don’t want it. I called another contractor to take a look at my unit and they told me that I have a bad compressor. Had I spent the $1,500 on the coil, I would still have the problem. He didn’t check and verify it was a bad coil and it ended up being something totally different. I’m very unhappy with them.

We had some scheduling snafus at the beginning but they were all my fault. The technician was very professional, on time and efficient. He explained everything he did.

I forgot to set up the next one and they called me when it was getting time.

We recently moved into an older house that needed alot of updating. They arrived on time. When they were checking the furnace they quickly found several problems with the furnace and venting, and within 24 hours had a couple of quotes on new furnaces. We had 2 other companies in to look at the furnace and give us quotes and they agreed with what Absolute said. We ended up having a different company put in the new furnace because we wanted a brand of furnace they didn't sell, but their prices were right in line with the others.

They contacted us shortly after our deal purchase, and scheduling was easy. They were on-time, professional, and friendly. They called us shortly after the initial visit to let us know when they could return for the follow-up visit. We were satisfied and would use them in the future.
