Description of Work: Full check-up. Found a worn-out part on my 18 year-old A/C and replaced it. Quite professional honest about the condition of my A/C. The unit is American Standard and looks to have more good years left. I thank Chris W. for his good work and am likely to use American Comfort in the future. I recommmend them highly.

Description of Work: I purchased a big deal for $59 for a 21-point winter furnace tune-up & cleaning. We have a humidifier connected to our furnace, which wasn’t working right. He figured out what was wrong with it and suggested we call our furnace company. He did a fine job with the tune-up.

Description of Work: They installed a whole house humidifier that attached to our furnace. It is great, and they did a great job of installation and training us how to use it. They helped reset our heating ducts so the heat did not vary so much from upstairs to downstairs. We paid $89.00 for a full servicing of our furnace, and they found cracks in the furnace and raised alarm bells that CO2 may be escaping. To cure they wanted to install a whole new furnace and they pursued us strongly trying to sell that to us. On investigation, it seems that this is a selling tactic - and we were disappointed with that. Our furnace is still fine and we have not died from CO2 poisoning. Bravo.

As you can tell from our completed work and our thorough inspection, we are a very service comprehensive company starting from the front office to the work performed in your home. During the tune up and inspection, we found multiple large cracks in your heat exchanger which was shown to you on a camera. It is was never our intention to use scare tactics, however, the service that was purchased does include us notifying you of our findings. It is our professional opinion that with multiple large cracks in a heat exchanger, that it is in your best interest to either replace the heat exchanger or replace the furnace. We have many experiences in the business and have witnessed multiple times where cracks less extensive than yours have caused people to be very sick. We feel that is is our professional obligation to make you aware of the potential dangers. We do not feel that by notifying you of the danger, providing a quote which you asked for, and then following up with a phone call would constitute a review stating that "we pursued you strongly". We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your business.
