 + -1 moreThey came out and gave us an estimate. They did a good job and charged as per the estimate. They called us in advance and showed up when they said they would. It took them about half a day to get everything done. They also explained everything to us after they were done.

 + -1 moreThese repairs were done in early June of this year. I recently purchased new outdoor lighting fixtures and called Mr. Carpenter about installation. He indicated he would stop by in the next day or two which he did. I was not at home when the lights were installed and he told my wife he would send a bill. A few days later I received an invoice marked " Return trip, no charge". This is what is known as REAL CUSTOMER SERVICE. I now know who to call and who to recommend to friends for any and all electrical work.
Description of Work: Repair of electric light in attic; relocated outlet in crawlspace for sump pump; repaired lighting for outdoor post lantern.

He quoted me a trip charge and that is all he charged me because he did not use any of his materials to fix the problem. It was fixed within a half an hour. He was very friendly, and quite punctual. Honest about his price. Did not charge anything extra for being on a Saturday.
Description of Work: We blew a fuse and the breaker kept tripping. Light socket in ceiling was causing this. Light socket was popping and sparking.

Jim and his assistant immediately began to complete the work in a very professional and expedient manner. They cleaned up the area immaculately when completed. I was very pleased with their work and will use them in the future for any electrical needs.
Description of Work: I had difficulty with outside ground fault switches and wanted to disconnect spa equipment that was not going to be used.

 + -1 moreWe obtained the initial quote for this work almost a year ago, but told Aaron's at the time that we would not be doing this work for "a while". When we called them back later to schedule the job, Aaron's honored the original quote, did the work efficiently and expertly, and added the out-of-scope outside circuit for a fair additional cost. After the job was complete, Aaron's even came back at no charge to address one bedroom outlet that wasn't working, even though the cause was ultimately not their fault.
Description of Work: Replaced Electric Panel and all circuit breakers. Re-labeled all circuit breakers. Installed whole-house surge suppressor. Added new 20Amp circuit outside. Rerouted electric service to come into house above ground level, to mitigate water leakage.

 + 4 moreI don't really know where to begin with my praise for this company. I've used Aaron's several times before, and every time the service was fantastic. This was a large and complicated job and from the beginning to the end it just went great. Jim and his assistant carried out all aspects of the job, from the original estimate, to coordinating the marking of all underground utilities, to digging the trench, and everything else pertaining to the job. This job took several days and many different appointments to complete. Jim would call ahead before every visit, and they were always on time. I have used many different contractors over the years for all types of services around my house, and I have never had a better experience. I especially appreciated their concern that everything was done to my specifications. Jim and his assistant were very friendly, polite, knowledgeable, and professional, they really know their business. You can not go wrong hiring this company.
Description of Work: Installed electrical service to a detached summer room building in my landscape garden. Including trenching in underground power lines for electric heat, wall plugs, ceiling fan, lights, sound system, telephone and TV cable.

 + -1 moreSince we didn't end up using the services of Aaron's Electric, I can't comment on how the work would've gone - only that we would've have paid $1000 more for the result we got for only $200 with another electrician.
Description of Work: My husband & I are new to Indiana and first time homeowners. We called Aaron's Electric because of an electrical problem we discovered within the first week of moving into our new home. The electrician from Aaron's gave us an estimate of around $1200 to fix the problem (and he charged us around $200 to diagnose the problem and give us the estimate). I hate to give someone such a bad review, but we called another electrician and also the inspector who performed the inspection on our home, and both told us that there was a much simpler fix to the problem than the one proposed by Aaron's. The second electrician fixed the problem for less than $200. I asked the second electrician and the inspector why Aaron's would have given us such a vastly different estimate. I was trying to give Aaron's the benefit of the doubt - hoping that maybe there was some rationale to what their electrician proposed. Both the inspector and the second electrician said that they have no idea why any electrician would have suggested such an elaborate fix to our particular problem when a much simpler (and cheaper) option was available. They thought there was no way an electrician wouldn't have known of the simpler fix. My husband and I felt like Aaron's was trying to take advantage of young, first time homeowners who didn't know anyone in the area. Moreover, the electrician from Aaron's was not particular friendly, and actually a little rude. As I said, I hate to give such a bad review, but given that we got our problem solved by another electrician for a small fraction of what Aaron's would have charged, and given that the second electrician and the inspector (both from separate companies) said that there's no way an electrician wouldn't have known of the cheaper fix, the only conclusion I could come to is that Aaron's was trying to take advantage of us.

I would definitely use them again and recommend them. My only recommendation would be to tell them everything you want done the first time as a second visit costs more.

 + -1 moreBoth guys were very professional. While here, Jim also found four existing circuits that had been installed without proper strain relief connectors and corrected the problem per code. After they left, we went to use the TV and found the cable was out of service. Erroneously thinking the re-routing of the cable line in the garage wasn't connected properly, we called Jim and he came right out that night-only to find the cable service was out and it was not their work causing the problem! We felt really bad, but Jim said is was not a problem! I think they provided great service.
Description of Work: We had surface mounted line voltage electrical circuits exposed on the garage walls and we wanted them rerouted in conduit. We also had a photoelectric sensor on an outside flood light repaired and a cable line in the garage also re-routed.

They were thorough, yet efficient. When they were finished, the bedroom lights worked correctly for the first time in years, and the outdoor light fixture worked beautifully. They put back everything they moved in perfect order. They were also very polite and personable. I couldn't be more pleased with the results.
