+ -1 moreNot well. Did not even clean up after himself. Said he thought electrical work would be four to five hundred dollars was a lot more. I am embarrassed I ever recommended this company. Did not clearly communicate with elderly person who did not realize drywall would have to be added by another contractor. Thought a new toilet and sink faucets would be replaced for the original quoted price. We do not feel we got a good value and that the price was really too much for what was provided.

Description of Work: I had a water heater that started leaking and called Rent-A-Plumber on 5-27-14. Jess answered the phone and said he would rearrange his workers schedule and have them get by to take care of the problem. A couple of hours later the workers showed up with a 50 gallon A.O. Smith gas water heater (I wanted to upgrade from a 40 gallon Rheem) and they immediately got to work. Andy and Bacon worked together like a well-oiled machine with each other seemingly knowing what the other was going to need before the other even said anything. They brought the new water heater in and delivered it to the basement area, disconnected the old one, drained it into the nearby sump pump pit, installed the new water heater (adapting it into the same area using some 90's to get it positioned due to the 50 gallon's larger diameter), installed a new ball valve on the cold water inlet and then took the old water heater out of the basement. I also asked Andy if he had something that could replace a clogged saddle valve that feeds the humidifier. He installed a ball valve into the hot water line to replace the junk saddle valve. They were in and out in about 1.5 hours which I thought was pretty good.

+ 3 moreThey were called and responded within 2 hours on a regular business day. arrived promptly , evaluated the issue, took care of the issue. I asked for addition work of replaceing a 4" sewer line section that was not related to the initial problem. They went to pick up up the needed parts and returned within the hour to complete the work. ALL total about 5 - 6 hours of work and I was pleased with the final price of $230.
Description of Work: Cleaned roots from sewer line. Replaced a damaged sewer pipe (not related to original problem)

In this process they routed the plumbing to install a new Sterling Water Softener. The workmanship was outstanding and was completed in about 3 hours. They cleaned up the work area and hauled off the old Water Heater. Their knowledge and professionalism was second to none. The system has been in service for about 3 weeks now with no issues. I had forgotten how a soft water shower felt. The only minor issue I had was, that immediately after the system was operational the main installer didn't encourage any questions in regards to the operation of the system. I ended up asking him a few questions. He satisfied my questions.

+ -1 moreI contacted Rent A Plumber about redoing and moving (an inch or so) our plumbing to the tub/shower in the main bathroom. All demolition was completed prior to their arrival. We simply needed plumbing redone and a new tub and shower surround installed. The plumber arrived promptly the scheduled day with one helper. The pair of them worked together well, stayed on task, were professional and very efficient with time and supplies. We will definately have them back when we are ready to have drains and water supply lines replaced at the sink; and for the next bathroom!

Lot of times we got people down in here, who didn’t know what they were doing and made you feel kind of weird as if you didn’t trust their work. These people I could tell that they knew what they were doing and they did, because after they left we did not have any problems. I kind of thought they were reasonable. People could trust them. They knew what they were doing and did the job right.
Description of Work: I used the services of Rent-a-plumber. I used their services twice, one time was about on the 22nd of October and the other time was three weeks before that. They did plumbing and drain cleaning work for me. The first time the price was quite a bit because it involved a kitchen, then some pipes down the basement and cleaning a bathtub. It was $479. It was quite a bit of work that he did. The second time it was an emergency call on a Saturday where he had to fix a knob on our bathtub. They charged $145. It was a little expensive but it was on a Saturday.
