Description of Work: Under no circumstances use these people. I have never worked with such an unreputable company in my life. Through AHS (home warranty service) we were dispatched to this company....not just once but twice and both times we were given the run around from the time the phone was answered (put on hold for more than 18 minutes) until we were told the heater would be replaced ( backed By AHS) this company tried to add on over $300 additional unnecessary costs. Please run do not walk away from this company. I have never before written a unfavorable review of any company...but this one well deserves this and more!!!

Here is our nightmare experience in dealing with this company. The day we moved into our new two story home the a/c went out. Thank goodness we have a home warranty (HSA). We called HSA that same day and they informed us that we needed to contact ASR. ASR tech Brandon came out, assessed the a/c and determined the compressor was out. I asked him when the earliest would be that the part would be ordered and installed. He informed me that he was pretty high in the company and we should hear something by Friday June 06/13/14. So 06/13/14 came and went and no word from this company. At this point, the temperature in our home was 85 degrees and we were staying in our finished basement to stay cool. I called ASR on 06/16/14 and spoke to Gene who could not find our file at first then put me on hold to look for it. She eventually found it on her Manager's desk (Allie). Gene informed me that there was a note on the file for Allie to call HSA. So, our file sat on Allie's desk for 3 business days before something was done. I then realized that this company needed assistance in doing their job...so I contacted HSA myself and spoke to Cheri. Cheri informed me that they were waiting on the claim and asked me if she could put me on hold while she called ASR and I said yes. When Cheri came back to the line she informed that she was waiting on ASR to send her the claim via email. Once I hung up with Cheri, April from ASR called my husband spoke a few words then hung upon him. So he called her back and she informed him that the compressor is under warranty but it would cost us an extra $500.00 to replace the copper, recover the coolant and dispose of the old compressor, all not covered by our warranty. She also informed him that a tech would be out to install the part 06/27/14 (worst case scenario). Now, at this point we already had paid $100.00 for our deductible which was not even included in the $500. So I called Cheri at HSA to confirm that the above was not covered and she let me know they were not. I asked Cheri what the next step would be and she said that we would need to contact ASR and let them know that we authorize the charges. On 06/18/14 I left ASR a v/m authorizing the charges. In addition, HSA also called on 06/19/14 letting ASR know that we authorized the charges. A week passes without a word or update. On 06/23/14, my husband called ASR and spoke to Gene who said the delay was because she did not have authorization for the charges. My husband authorized them, again and Gene officially scheduled the installation for 6/27. At this point we had been waiting 2 weeks since this whole ordeal started, during those two weeks, temperatures peaked in the 90's, our animals were panting, and we were very uncomfortable. The icing on the cake was when my husband received a call from April on 6/26, who left a v/m to call ASR. He called them back and spoke to Gene who wanted to know if they could reschedule our appointment from 06/27/14 to 07/02/14 and my husband said no. Gene informed him that there were 2 installers, one was working late on a job and the other one walked off the job. He told her this was unacceptable and she informed him that there was nothing she could do because all the other people in front of us had been waiting even longer. He called HSA to complain and asked for another vendor. The new vendor will be out Tuesday to replace the compressor. In addition the new vendor informed us that we will not need new copper for the compressor installation. So not only is ASR slow, unprofessional and unorganized, they also appear to have fabricated a charge. We are going to report them to the Better Best Bureau. *********Update******* Per the company's response posted on July 8, 2014, they were working on refunding our $100.00 deductible. We waited until August 2014 and still had not received our $100.00 deductible back. So we contacted the Indiana Attorney General and the company's response to the complaint was that they were working on refunding our $100.00 deductible. It is now January 2015 and we still have not received our $100.00 deductible back. I guess we will never receive our $100.00 deductible back.
Description of Work: They were suppose to fix our a/c compressor. However, we decided to go with another installer due to the fact this company is very is very slow, unprofessional, unorganized, and makes up bogus charges. I would not recommend this company to anyone!!! We are reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.

We are working on resolving any scheduling issues at this time. We run over 30 calls a day and it is very demanding. In the service business, scheduling is difficult. Scheduling often depends on parts that the supplier tells you are in and may not be accurate, it also depends on jobs not taking longer than expected. Service dispatchers have a very difficult job. They balance service technicians personal schedules, customer schedules, parts being available, and the weather. When appointments are missed they are called liars, unprofessional etc. We are working on refunding any service call amount invested or home warranty deductible. When changing a compressor, we replace the copper pieces that lead into the compressor with new instead of heating up the existing to remove it and reusing the used pieces that have been used in previous connection. I stand behind this method and we will continue.

Scheduling has been a nightmare with ASR. We've been without A/C for nearing two weeks. I've had to call twice to confirm my own appointments only to find we were not on the schedule despite ASR initially telling us when they'd arrive. The first time I called they admitted to a scheduling mistake, but did not call to notify me that they need to reschedule. When I called to ask where they were, no one simply apologized about the mistake. Instead I received a list of excuses why they didn't follow up, all of which were their fault. When they did make it out to the house the tech determined a part needed to be ordered and we were told they would be back the following Monday or Tuesday. Again, no one showed up and no one called back, and we paid in advance!. We called again and found that we were not on the schedule. Communication has been a complete disappointment and unprofessional.

The work that was done was fine, was able to diagnose and fix the problem quickly. My issue was with scheduling. I was scheduled for Friday between 10 and 2pm. At 2:30 I called them to find out where they were and was told they were running behind and they still weren't here by 5pm. They rescheduled me for 8 to 9 on Monday morning so I wouldn't have to take another day off work, at 9:30 I called to find out where they were and was told they would be there at 2pm. I was very disappointed that they were not proactive enough to set the expectation and let me know they were running behind while I was at home from waiting for them. And I wasted two days of personal vacation time waiting on them to arrive. Once they finally arrived, everything went well but based on this experience I would not do business with them again.

Great, Air conditioner stopped working on a Saturday night during the 100 degree heat wave. Looked on the Web for a local company listed with Angies list. Called and they came out a couple hours later and fixed the problem and has been working fine since then.

I called and talked to Joe at 8pm Friday night after my A/C went out. He said he'd be able to get to me Saturday morning and get the air running. He did just that. He got here before noon and had the air running after replacing the bad part. He had the part with him so we had the house cooling back down in no time. This has been the hottest week of the year and with two small kids I was worried we would be without A/C for a while. I'm very thankful for the work that was performed. I'm very happy that I called Affordable Solutions.

They sent a service rep out to check my A/C. He told me what I needed to buy in order to fix it and showed me how I could install it. I put it in and it still didn't fix my problem. I called him back and they sent a different service rep out. This time he told me I needed a new fan. I did the same thing where I ordered the fan and put it in. The fan didn't fix the problem. I called back and the owner and a worker came out to work on it. They got the A/C working but the fan won't shut off. He told me that he needed another part and he was leaving for ohio to work and he would fix it when he got back. It has been a month now and they haven't come back. My new fan has ran constantly for a month. I called in today and they told me that they aren't going to be able to help me because they are a small company. They suggested I call someone else to fix it.

We worked very hard to help the member given he wanted to do his own repairs it makes it hard as service company. If we misdiagnose a faulty part and we put it in we would eat the cost until it was fixed. We can't be responsible for a customer installing parts. We are one of the few companies that will even try to help someone in this situation. I am the owner and once I heard about the issue I went out with a tech very late at night during a very hot spell and what I did was jumped the blower to run due to the blower not switching on. This provided imediate relief for this family and we felt that we had helped given the heat. We only charged the customer a service call charge of less than fifty dollars during the entire time we helped. We advised the owner of this home that we did not specialize in this type of mobile home unit and advised using someone that did. During all of this the family had air conditioning due to our efforts. We only charged a service call and we did provide a proper diagnosis of this unit but couldn't locate the part and felt that we were not the best choice to help. We can fix anything with time but it was very hot and everyone was backed up. We felt that someone that worked on this type of mobile home unit everyday could resolve the issue quicker and more effiiciently that us. Once again we did provide cooling by running the blower non-stop and bypassing the control that brings the indoor blower on. This is normal practice as many systems and customers with high end filtration run the blowr 24/7. We feel that we went above and beyond for a very low service call charge. We are very sad that the member is not happy with our efforts.

They made a lot of mistakes. They put in the wrong type of heat duct; I had to rip up the floor again and put it in. Some of their employees lacked integrity. The heating and air conditioning part was okay. Their price was good. The last time I called them, they did not return my call. They weren’t really punctual. It got to the point where after I had paid them, it seemed like I was on the back burner. We needed something moved to do some work on the pool, and they said that they would move it; they didn’t charge us for it, but then they said they couldn’t move it at that time. I would not recommend them and would not use them again.

I am the owner and in the end I was personally involved in this project. the member failed to mention that we paid to have the concrete torn out and replaced in full after we re-ran a few ducts that an employee had made a mistake on. Yesterday we came home to a house that was about 86 degrees. I called the same company that 7 months ago replaced our furnace and that we were very satisfied with. It was around 9:00 pm so I left a message and e-mail on their web-site knowing they would get back when they could. The next morning we heard back and they could get to us sometime between 4:00 and 7:00 pm this day. That worked for us knowing they were very busy. The owner of the company showed up, and found a blown capacitor and replaced it with a new one.... we had air again... and like it says on the web site---FREE service call. This is a smaller company, and the service is great. When they replaced our furnace in December, the service men were very cold and it was late so we had pizza ordered for them. They were VERY POLITE and we would invite any of them back into or home again. Todd Syx is the owner of the company, and it is very evident he cares about his customers. We are proud to be one of them.
