He had done excellent work for me in remodeling two bathrooms. I spent over $25,000 on that job and had talked with him a year or so later about converting my back porch into a sun room and building a deck across the back of my house. I had contacted a company he had reocmmended to redo the entrance to our basement but did not want to have that started until I knew more about the rest of the work. I expected the entire job to cost in excess of $40,000, probably close to $60,000. I needed to speak with the contractor to get an estimate so I could go to the bank but he has never returned any of my calls. I will not call him again and am most disappointed.
Description of Work: I had the provider do work for me in 2011 and wanted to contract with him again to do some additional work. I have called several times and left messages and he has never returned the calls. Even though I realize that he might not be interested in doing the work I was hopeful he could at least recommend someone else. I find his lack of response most unprofessional and am quite surprised by his non-responsiveness as in the past he had been very profressional and responsive. If he was not still doing this kind of work, I would have thought he would at least contact me and let me know.

While the job moved slower than desired, the work was high quality and Ron was great to deal with during the job.

Began talking with contractor in February. Signed contract in April. Work began in mid-June. Originally estimated the work would take two weeks, but the job took about 6 weeks. There were problems with the suppliers taking incorrect measurements and therefore some of the materials had to be re-ordered (Lee Supply in New Albany and P&C in New Albany). These suppliers came in an did their own measurements so it was not the contractor's fault. One of the marble pieces for the shower stall was cracked when it arrived so that delayed the job another week. Our house has low voltage wiring and the lights are on relays. The electrician we had on another remodel job told us there was nothing we could do about it, but the electrician that Mattingly brought in was wonderful, installed regular 110 wiring and now we can have dimmers on those lights. The workers were meticulous about cleaning up after themselves and were polite and professional. The only problem I had was that the contract was not very specific when written. The cost of the shower stall doors, lighting, bathroom exhaust fans, medicine cabinets etc were not specified nor an allowance specified in the agreement and I bought these things out of pocket during construction. The cost of the electrican and plumber were not included in the "total", which I overlooked since I did not add up the various line items though they were shown as an "allowance.". As a result, the cost was +$4000.00 more than I thought it would be. Even still, I believe I got good quality for my money. I have an older home with plaster walls and a previous remodeler did not do a good job of matching installed drywall to the plaster walls. This contractor did an excellent job and would not settle for anything less than perfect.
Description of Work: Complete gut and remodel of two bathrooms, including the tear out of a closet to expand size of one bath. Installation of all new fixtures, ceramic tile floor, heated flooring, ceramic marble shower walls, painting of rooms, including adjacent bedroom.
