Our team works very hard to accommodate our customers in both timing of the projets and cleanings after we leave the project. TidyTabs is a cleaning service that we pay for to do the final cleaning touch ups after we complete the projects. We appreciate this member sharing their positive experience with our team.

we appreciate the positive review! Basement waterproofing is not always necessary when dealing with a wet basement. Sometimes a simple drainage system can be installed on the outside to take of the water issues on the inside. Our evaluations a free and hope you will call our team to evaluate your situation and provide you with the right solution.

Our team appreciates the members positive review. As was stated he had a foundation condition that was not typical but not diagnosable at the initial inspection because it was hidden under the basement floor. After the team broke out the concrete this unique condition was discovered. Our team along with consulting with Mike Bird ( Company Owner ) and the member was able to adapt our waterproofing system without additional cost to our customer. The system was installed about four months ago. It has made it through many extensive and hard rainfall events and to date - NO ISSUES. If you are in need of a waterproofing system then our team wants to work hard to earn your business. If an issue is discovered in the course of the installation then you can be assured that our team will have the knowledge, know how and experience needed to properly deal with it.

Very professional and timely at initial estimate. Work was scheduled a little sooner than I'd expected which was a plus as I'm trying to sell the house. Aaron and his team had a little delay getting started due but contacted me the night before and the morning of to keep me informed of the timing. They were then quick to get to work and stayed moving. After completion we had a few issues and questions and Mike Bird called himself and came out to inspect and problem solve. He spoke to Aaron and they got everything taken care of for us. Great company, they stand behind their work and are great at communicating. Wish we'd done it sooner!

This member was selling there home and needed it waterproofed quickly with a warranty that would transfer. Our team could accomplish both and was fortunate enough to earn their business. After we completed the project a few issues arose. Essentially from a condensation line from the HVAC that we was not asked to address initially and extremely high humidity levels that was not allowing the concrete to set up properly. We went back out at our cost and took care of it for them. We appreciate there great review!

When I called, I spoke with the owner Mike and he was very helpful. I explained we had discovered water damage coming in from an occupied basement/bedroom wall and because of mold and health issues, he was here promptly the next day to look at it. We had removed the carpeting and cut away small sections of drywall until we found a foundation crack and a large drill hole with a satellite cable running through it that was not sealed properly. He tested the area to be sure that was where the leak was coming from. He then assured me that the damage looked minimal and should be a simple repair. What a blessing! He also discovered that part of the water erosion issues were being caused by poor downspouts. He called back and e- mailed with a reasonable estimate that day. Due to upcoming rain, he had his crew here doing the job within 2 days. The employees were very polite, professional and thorough. They had to trim out a large shrub and move a lot of gravel because of the landscaping next to the wall. They excavated approx. 24'' down and even with the tight working space...they took care and saved the shrub, repaired the crack, sealed the cable hole and cleaned the area back up. I had such a positive experience and would highly recommend ARW in the future. Thank You!

They had a small crack that was leaking water. We have a fail proof crack repair system that we installed from the inside that is much different than the high pressure epoxy injections that fail all the time. We can do this at a reasonable cost if you have a similar issue. WE appreciate the great review and want the opportunity to earn your business and graet review as well.

Mike, the owner, knew I had serious reservations about starting the project once I committed myself to having the work done. My biggest concerns were based on the fact that I had nothing to compare his estimate to, so I had no earthly idea as to what I was getting myself into or if his price was "fair and reasonable". Although I did have other contractors look at the concerns I had, none of them came up with anything remotely close to what each other proposed or suggested to remedy my situation. That being said, "I" did know that I was tired of looking at a wet cellar every time it rained. I also knew that the water coming from the downspouts needed to be diverted away from the foundation. Mike and his crew provided me with the remedy I was seeking, and so far so good. They did have to come back out and make some improvements on their original installation in the cellar as far as their water diversion, but it seemed to solve the problem. Mike is a very personable guy as were the employees he had working on my project. They answered any questions I had and I enjoyed the worthless banter I had with his son Aaron. We even sat down a played guitars together for a few minutes before they departed for the last time.....or was it, Aaron? I stated I would not hire them again because I'm pretty sure I won't have too. The waterproofing aspect of the work they performed comes with a 25-year transferable warranty, at least I think I read that somewhere? I stated N/A on the price because as I stated earlier, I honestly have nothing to compare it to as far as other estimates or contractors. However, knowing the next homeowner will not have to deal with the same issues I had to deal with after only 15 months lets me know I did right by them! Pay it forward! p.s. I did suggest to Mike that he ensures to make any prospective customer aware of any outliers they may be responsible for after their work is completed. There were some electrical issues that weren't discussed or addressed and I would have been better prepared to absorb the additional costs to hire an electrician had I known before the project was started.
Description of Work: I wasn't sure what work needed to be performed. We purchased an older home that was built in 1920 that has had at least 3 additions/renovations since it was originally built. The foundation in the cellar had water seeping up through the concrete floor and around the perimeter of the foundation walls. I knew that the water from the downspouts needed to be diverted away from the foundation and some type of drainage system installed around the entire exterior of the house. Mike Bird, the owner of ARW and Matt, one of his employee's, provided an assessment of the property and gave me their recommendations as to what they felt needed to be done in order to divert the water away from the foundation and prevent water from entering the cellar. Since we have a pond located behind the house, they installed a French drain in the front yard and ran drainage lines from 5 downspouts to the back of the property so the water would drain into the pond. They also ran a drainage line from a 6th downspout approximately 30 feet from the house and relocated a pop-up drain that was previously installed to divert the water away from the foundation. In the cellar they dug up and removed approximately 12" of concrete flooring around the entire interior perimeter of the cellar floor, except under the stairs leading down into the cellar. Once the old concrete was removed, they installed interior perimeter drains that were connected to the new sump pump pit and new sump with battery back-up. Another sump pump was added at ground level underneath the crawlspace to ensure as much water as possible would be diverted away from the foundation. They installed several floor joists jacks they were used to replace bricks/rocks/stone that were previously being used as support. A beam was added/replaced under the master bedroom crawlspace in order to make the flooring in that room as even as they possibly could without cracking the drywall or causing more harm than good. New engineered hardwood flooring was installed shortly afterwards and I can honestly say, I can't see the imperfections that were there before in the flooring. The entire crawlspace was encapsulated and spray foam was used to seal off outside air and moisture from entering. All the vents were sealed off as well which will ensure no more cold air, water and moisture. This will make a huge difference, especially in the winter months. Lastly, a mold and mildew treatment was applied once the project was completed.

I greatly appreciate the member taking the time to go through and explain his experience with our firm in great detail. We did a very large and extensive project for [Member Name Removed] and [Member Name Removed]. It took 3 weeks to complete and had many different issues that was taken care of. It covered outside drainage, foundation stabilization, mold work, crawl space drainage, basement waterproofing, insulation installation and encapsulation. Our team worked hard to to do a magnificent job and I believe we accomplished it. There was a couple service issues that we went back to correct. One very frustrating downspout issue that took a couple times to get right but it got done and now all is good and working properly. We worked hard as we always do to earn an A grade from [Member Name Removed]. We somehow how fell just short of doing that. We will strife to always improve and will use his B grade as a motivator to so. Mike Bird - Owner

Hope they had a wonderful experience with whatever contractor they went with. My father use to say " you get what you pay for". At this point I am a bit upset! And another pointless conversation is not a solution. I have been patient and I paid my bill. But I am not so sure I got the quality that I thought I was paying for when I contracted ARW. After all the whole point of this project to get water away from the house and as it is now it is ponding along a large section of the foundation.
Description of Work: Called to ask about the performance of the drain installed. They stated they would be out and install a pressure relief feature of some sort, but instead they spread fresh top soil where it had washed out when it overflowed. Well we just had another hard rain and it has backed up and overflowed again and ran down the drive.

Our team went out twice and made repairs that was well beyond the original work quoted. Unfortunately we could not please this member. We had made it clear on the initial estimate that the amount of rainwater that was coming from this single downspout may need to be split with additional downspouts and recommended a local company that could do that.

I purposely waited about a year to provide this review so that I could test the job in all seasons. We are very pleased with the job Matt and Cory did. We previously had quite a bit of seepage around the perimeter of the basement--never standing water but enough to make it impossible to take full advantage of the space. Nearly a full year later, we've now experienced everything weather-wise and we have been completely dry. The damp, musty smell is completely gone. The owner, Mike, personally inspected their work and kept in constant touch via text. We were scheduled in a timely fashion, although had a delay due to weather (not their fault). It was a big job, and the weather was extremely hot and dry, so the work took awhile, about 9 days if I recall correctly. Everyone was very professional, and we are happy with the outcome.

When Marty arrived, he was apologetic because he was 4 minutes late, which of course, was no big deal to me! As a woman meeting an unknown man at our property, I can say he did a great job of setting me at ease. (Knowing he represented an Angie's List Super Service Award winning company that also had an A+ Better Business Bureau rating helped, too! Marty listened intently, asked intelligent questions, treated me very respectfully and professionally, and answered my concerns with obvious top-notch knowledge of his subject. He requested to see the inspection report prior to going down into the crawl space, and explained some terms, (only when I asked), that were unfamiliar to me. He also masterfully did a "non-salesmany" job of explaining the strengths of ARW for just this kind of job. After this quite educational discussion, he put on his special crawl space gear, (so as not to leave dirt all over our house when he came back up, like the buyer's inspector had done), and descended into our wet crawl. I heard him down there navigating the entire crawl space perimeter, banging on boards and taking pictures etc.. He was down there inspecting and analyzing for close to an hour! (The other two companies, when they came were down here for no more than half an hour each!). I could tell he was doing a really thorough job. Based on his and my previous discussion, I could tell he was a man of integrity representing a company that strives to deliver excellence and value to its customers. I could tell I could trust his judgement as to what we would need to do to fix the problems. When he came back up, he had digital pictures and educated opinions regarding what needed to happen and why ARW's particular way of waterproofing would be the best. Turns out, they also had an unbeatable warranty on not only the work and equipment, but they also subcontract the mold remediation to a company that offers an incredible renewable (free) warranty. I shared with Marty that, since we were selling, we wanted the work done well, but we didn't want to lose all our profits either. He expressed that they understood and would do all they could to earn our business. I was sold....except we didn't know the price yet! When we got all three estimates in front of us, ARW was not the cheapest. However, it was in the ballpark of the others, yet offered WAY more value in terms of the technology used, the transferrable warranties offered, and the warrantied bonafide mold remediation (instead of just some bleach treatment). After we reviewed everything, we had some more questions. Mike, the owner, unbelievably called us back on his personal cell phone that evening and patiently and cheerfully discussed all of our questions. He thought through some ways they could pare the price down a little to get it closer to our desired budget. We found him very educated regarding his field of work, and thoroughly enjoyed talking with him, just as we had Marty. Our realtor brought the numbers and estimates back to the buyers and let them know our strong opinion that ARW would be the best company to hire. We said we believed in ARW so much, we would even be willing to pay more than our previously agreed upon portion, if the buyers were to decide to hire them. Our buyers decided they wanted the peace of mind that true mold remediation would bring, and they wanted all the other benefits too. So, we all agreed on our terms and last Friday, the sale went through! Hurray! Thank you to Angie's List for offering trustworthy companies for members to choose from when hiring various jobs. Thank you for having your Super Service Awards so we know who are the best of the best! Thank you for advertising to consumers in such a way as to let us know other good things about your endorsed companies (like BBB ratings etc). Thank you for your commitment to excellence so that we can trust the companies in your membership. Thank you to ARW's Mike and Marty for being great examples of how to do business and how to truly serve your clientele. Your communication skills, knowledge of your subject matter, ongoing educational commitment to growing in that know-how, and your willingness to work with your customer's various time lines and financial limits, are all reasons you deserve success. I understand the work at our former property starts next week, and I have no doubt our buyers are in great hands. I am sure they too will be jumping at the chance to write one of these positive reviews!
Description of Work: I am writing to enthusiastically join the ranks of those singing the praises of one of your multiple Super Service Award Winners: Advanced Restoration and Waterproofing, LLC ("ARW"). I am so impressed with them, I am taking my sunny Saturday afternoon, to write this review and nominate them for a Page Of Happiness! What follows is our excellent experience with ARW. When my husband and I were selling our rental house in Sheridan, IN last month, we signed a purchase agreement with some buyers who then hired an inspector. Unfortunately, our house's crawl space failed its inspection! It showed evidence of lots and lots of water coming in during storms, and there was substantial mold as a result. As you can imagine, we were in need of some quick help and guidance, so as to not lose the sale!! Our realtor referred us to two respected companies she knew of, but we wanted to make sure to also get an inspection and estimate from someone on Angie's List. (I should mention that my husband and I are small business owners ourselves, so we tend to have pretty high standards regarding what we expect when we are looking to hire a company.) I found ARW under the "Foundation Repair" section, and immediately called ARW. I also phoned the other companies she recommended, so as to get various opinions and comparisons. When I called ARW, I was received warmly and professionally by Mike, the owner, who heard us well regarding the time crunch we were in, and said Marty could come out within a day or two to give us an estimate. He told me that Marty would call me that day and set up a time. Honestly, I was doubtful...how often do contractor-types promise to call you back, (much less today!)....and then typically end up having zero follow through? But....lo and behold, Marty really did call that day, and within an hour or two even! He offered to come out that night, but I wasn't available on that short of a notice (lol), so we set an appointment for two days later. In the meantime, we also called three other companies; we got calls back a few days later from only two of the three, and set appointments with both of them.

Crew of one person, Corey, arrived on time and worked very hard all day to complete the job. We reviewed the work to be done and it compared very favorably to the work order that Corey had, which is nice. He got right to work. It was a cold, windy and at times rainy day. He was very professional and thorough at all times, when I spoke with him. I was very surprised he was by himself, but he explained his coworker called in sick and he wanted to get the job done and felt he could do it. He was correct even though it might have been a little easier with another set of hands. He did an excellent job and I would highly recommend ARW.
Description of Work: Removed damaged underground drainage pipes from downspouts to storm sewers. Approx. 80ft. and replaced.

I own a house built in 1870. I had foundation problems concerning water channeling in from outside. Over the years it had become a chronic situation. I found ARW on Angie’s List. The company had very good reviews.I want to add this review for the excellent job they did for me. ARW fixed my basement within the time schedule they gave me. The cost was extremely reasonable. The work ethic was fantastic. In the time between the completion of the project and this review we have had two heavy storms come through and the basement remained completely dry.I highly recommend this company and will gladly use them in the future if the need arises. I arranged an inspection. Martin Mainzer met me at the house at the time I arranged. After inspecting the situation with me, he took measurements and photos and sent them to the owner, Mike Bird. Mike insisted on arranging a time the next day to come and see the basement himself. He felt my situation was not the norm. We discussed the options.Regular pier support would not work well because the foundation is made of limestone boulders and rocks. The upward pressure of the piers could cause problems with the limestone. Traditional underpinning was called for. Mike explained the process and I found out not many companies do not like to or won’t take on this kind of job. Mike gave me an estimate and a time schedule. The crew that came out to do the job was run by Jay Sawers. Mike came by with Jay on the first day and introduced the crew. We all went over the project and what to expect. Jay and Brandon began the task. I was impressed with several things about the crew. They kept me notified of ant change or delay in the process. An attribute that is hard to find with contractors these days. The project: The foundation would be supported using traditional pier support. That consisted of regularly spaced holes dug down without machinery at a 45 degree angle. Rebar was inserted into the concrete that filled the holes and then a retaining wall was built with the rods embedded in the walls. One continuous wall went down the front west side and the front wall in the trouble corner. In addition they dug down outside the wall and put in a French drain. A French drain was also put down the opposite side of the house were running water was starting to cause similar problems. The downspouts on both sides of the house were run under ground past the foundation and into drain boxes set on the edge of the lawn about 20ft from the house. The amount of concrete needed for the project exceeded the original estimate but I was not charged extra. The original plan called for the dirt being excavated from the basement to be used to grade the flower beds on the side of the house. My wife asked them not to because the lack of soil nutrients would damage her gardens. The put the dirt in an area my wife wanted it and agreed to use topsoil in the gardens. This is an item not covered in the original estimate and I was fine with paying the extra cost. I was not charged. They used a small cement mixer outside the basement and used buckets to bring down the concrete. Consequently, there was cement on the ground around that area. They cleared all of the concrete and put top soil down there as well. Thanks to everybody at ARW Martin, Mike, and Jay. and Brandon.

I signed up through Angie's List for a 10-point inspection of my home's foundation because I was concerned about water standing around my house after heavy rain. I was also concerned about possible water collecting in my crawl space. The response from this company was very quick, and the inspection was scheduled at my convenience. The gentleman who came to complete the inspection was courteous and personable. He walked around the house with me, then went into the crawl space, and completed the inspection. He then sat down with me and went through each point of the inspection, explaining in detail what problems might arise from each of the areas inspected. There was no hard sell for any of the services which his company offered to remediate any of the potential problems. In fact, he stood up to leave when he was finished explaining the inspection, and I then inquired about the service which I was most interested in having his company perform, which was burying my downspouts. He sent me a detailed email proposal the next day, and I signed and returned it within 24 hours. Within two days the underground utility service had been contacted, my utilities had been marked, and my job put on their work schedule. The whole process has been handled very professionally, and I look forward to writing an additional review once the job has been completed.

ARW managed to get to us sooner than we thought, thank goodness. Because there is a lot of rain in the forecast. They explained everything and did a great job so far. They are finishing up tomorrow. The trenches they dug for the runoff pipes were done neatly. They dug up the grass and put it back so you can barely tell anything was dug up. It is raining now. Fingers are crossed that this will take caremof the problem. If not, ARW will come back and do more for us. We appreciate them going with the less expensive solution.
Description of Work: ARW put a pit and sump pump into our basement. After almost 40 years with a dry basement, we started getting water in our basement. The and other companies wanted to do a full treatment with trenching, but they allowed us to try a lesser solution first to see if that does the trick. They also buried the runoff for two of our downspouts. And ran the pump oitflow out close to the street.

I knew of a problem I had and decided to contract them to work on the problem. I have two downspouts that go underground and connect to storm drains that do not work well. Part of the underground drain has broken and another part has come to the surface. Mr. Mainzer did a very detailed examination of the issues and wrote a detailed work order to address the problems. I signed a contract to have them do the work and am waiting to get it scheduled. Today is 3/25/16 and they haven't called yet to schedule the work, so I sent them a message through Angies List asking them to contact me next week after Easter to schedule.
Description of Work: Big Deal review of drainage and crawlspace. Inspection went well. He was very thorough and report identified a few things I needed to work on as well as some things I knew needed addressed.
