Description of Work: They replaced the bottom third of the east wall of our house, inside and out. The wall had not been completed correctly when the house was first built and water was coming in under a window. This led to mold growth on the inside of the wall. EVERYTHING had to be replaced except for the framing, which was braced up. They did an outstanding job in terrible weather and the wall has not leaked since!

Description of Work: We purchased an inspection of our basement/foundation to identify the source of leakage. They performed the assessment and gave us recommendations. They offered an initial verbal estimate of what they thought the work would cost, and we had them return to do a formal estimate. Written estimate was more than twice the original verbal quote. We have subsequently gotten quotes from other companies and have selected another option.

Description of Work: I paid a fee through Angie's list. The provided was busy since we had had lots of rain. I understood and hoped to get a call within 2-3 weeks. The call never came and I called Angie's list to cancel the service and ask for a refund. I was told that I was beyond the time limit for a refund and to watch for further opportunities for this service. I have not observed any. I therefore and dismayed that someone has my money and I can't get it back. I will no longer use Angie's list for anything nor will I further renew. Thank you!!!

Our records show that we actually did called back and did leave messages with no return call back. Emails as well. If the member would have reached out to us we would have been more than happy to have provided the inspection or refund the money ourselves although ARW doesn't receive any of the inspection fee but rather Angie's List keeps the fee to provide the opportunity for our company and the member to make contact.

Description of Work: ADVANCED RESTORATION AND WATERPROOFING provided a paid estimate to examine and provide an assessment of our crawl space. The cost of their recommendation exceeded $10k resulting in our hiring a structural engineer, a home inspector and a foundation expert. |Hiring each of the experts resulted in us paying close to but less than $1k for their collective services - much less than + $10K. |The joint consensus was that we did not need the extensive waterproofing performed but did need downspouts installed on our gutters and grading performed in one area. | | | |

One of the questions always asked at every inspection is; what is your goal? The reason we ask this is because every problem, every house, and everyone has different results in mind. For example if we are looking at a 100 year old home that has water coming in but it's just a small amount many things could be done. 1. Maybe the home owner wants to finish the basement and wants it to be completely dry. That will most certainly take more than downspout extensions. It will also take either an exterior or interior waterproofing system. 2. Maybe there goal is to preserve the foundation since the house is old but are not putting as much emphasis on waterproofing. This may require downspout extensions, grading and French drain installations. I believe this is what happened here. The member just wanted a very basic installation and successfully communicated that to the engineer that we recommended. We appreciate the opportunity to have provided the customer with an estimate of what our perception was at the time of what there goal was. I would add that sometimes we run up against foundation issues that have been neglected for years and that the only solution available would be to make a complete repair with no interim measures. Description of Work: It was SUPPOSED to be a complete inspection. The salesman they sent out wouldn't even get in the crawl. He took pics from the opening and made his estimate. I complained and EVENTUALLY they sent someone else out a few months later. That is when I received an estimate. It was NOT WORTH a dime of what I spent!! VERY FRUSTRATING!

We are sorry that the member is not completely satisfied. When our inspector went out to evaluate the crawlspace he found that it was very tight. 10" to 14" of clearance and couldn't get in to examine it properly. He explained that . We did get a person back out that could squeeze into the crawlspace and we did provide both an inspection report and an estimate for repairs. The member was not happy with what was found and decided to leave a negative review. We did offer to refund the the inspection fee but the member never called back to take us up on the offer.
