$443.30 to fix a slowly leaking bathroom sink drain and it's still leaking and now clogged. Original quote was $1,058.55 to replace the sink faucet (lol). After I asked why it was so expensive, the quote was reduced to $443 to simply 'fix the leak', which I reluctantly agreed to. After paying I was sent an invoice that said the sink is still leaking and now clogged, and plumber has left. Ridiculous. The person I spoke to was professional and courteous, but the price is insane and the problem still exists. Extremely dissatisfied. Will not use again. edit: as for the 'response from the owner'. I called your office before posting this review. You know who this is based on the prices above, and you have my number. You didn't make anything right when I gave you the chance on the phone before posting this. Predatory plumbing. edit 2: someone else called me and waived the $60 dispatch fee. When asked about their high prices, they said 'you can choose to eat at a Fazoli's, or a Michelin star Italian restaurant'. I'm dead. Reality is stranger than fiction.

The first tech arived earlier than the time I had scheduled but was obviousy very young and inexperienced and very quickly had to call in a second technician. The second tech looked at the issues with the water and recommended the work described above. They informed me that they would need to go get the parts and would be back in an hour or so. In describing the scope of work I was told that they would totally remove the hot water heater from under the HVAC ducting and then reinstall it upon completion due to the low clearance. Instead they simply cut the hot water out line and attempted to extact the anode in this way, even though there clearly was not enough headspace to do so. As a result they bent the top of the hot water heater in order to extract the anode. The new water softner was installed and I was shown how to operate it. At this time I had to leave for an appointment and gave the tech my cell phone number if there were any issues or if for some reason they were not going to be able to finish. Upon returning home I discovered I had no water at all on one side of the house (kitchen and laundry room, and no hot water whatsoever. I also had almost no water pressure in several areas of the house, which had decent water pressure prior to the work. I immediately called the company which claims to provide 24 hour service and was told that they would get back to me shortly. I called again about 90 minutes later and was told they were still trying to contact the tech. Finally I recieved a call back informing me that they would be out sometime today. They could not give me a time or any further details. Due to this, I started to investigate the work that was done, and discovered that two water valves had been left off and that the hot water heater had not even been turned back on. I opened the closed valves and water pressure returned to one part of the house but still nothing in the kitchen. I lit the pilot on the hotwater heater and called it a day. This morning I started to investigate the work and found the damage to the top of the hot water heater and also noticed the extremely poor quaility of the soldering and related work that was done. They also had not totally removed the unit which was indicated by no work having been done on the copper piping of the feed line and new copper and soldering on the output side. I also noticed that a 90 had been crushed but it turned out that that had been done upon the original installation of the hot water heater by the same company back in May. Upon seing the crushed 90 I turned off the hotwater heater not wanting to damage the unit due to pressure issues. Upon calling the company this morning, they informed me the owner was on his way. He arived a short time later and I showed and explained to him the issues. He removed and flushed the water lines and faucet pressure returned to that area of the house. I showed him the work that had been done on the hot water heater and he confirmed that they had not done the repair as it had been explained to me when I approved the work. I also showed him the crushed ninty and he said it looked like it was already that way from their original installation of the new hot water heater in May. He replaced the crushed fitting and then left. He also informed me that there may be other areas of sedimintation the come up do to the age of the house (1910) and the hodgepodge of plumbing that has been put in over the years. Subsequent to the completion of the work I did some investigation of the removal of the anode and discovered that actually the initital recomendation for work like mine is to replace the standard anode with an anode of a different composition and that anode removal in water conditions like mine may shorten the life of the hot water heater and void its warranty. It is now four days later and things have gone from bad to worse, I now have small semi transparent balls in all the water lines in the house. We noticed this yesterday when one of the toilets stopped filling back up and this morning it felt like being sandblasted when you took a shower. A different technician is now here and I have been informed that they installed a defective water conditioner and most likely did not test it when it was installed. Secondly I have also been informed that the original hot water heater was not installed as specified by the manufacturer of the hot water heater. Finally my concern was confirmed and by making the modification to the hot water heater it most likely voided the warranty. It also is most likely full of the orange contaminant and once again will have to be flushed, decomtaminated and put back into service. At this point the local "plumbing" company is supposed to be out in the morning to make things right we shall see how that goes. They called and informed me that a quality assurance manager was on his way and they would get everything taken care of today. It has now been six days since this adventure started. The two technicians inspected the problems and notified me that it was due to a breakdown in the reconditioned water softner that they supplied and what was in the water was the resin from the unit. They informed me that they would not be able to bring out a replacement unit until Tuesday morning. They then proceeded to clean out every water connection in the house. I discussed this issue of the voided warranty with the QA guy and he said that yes they had voided the manufactures warranty but that I did not need to worry that it was now warranteed through them. I asked for a copy of this warranty and was told it was on the back of the invoice which is not the case. I also asked abou the improper installation of the hot water heater, and was told that it was installed to code and that the manufacturers recomendations were just that, not requirements. On Tuesday a new person delivered and installed another water softner, verfied that good water flow was present in the lines and so far so good.
Description of Work: Warranty service on a hot water heater that was installed in May. Based on the technicians evaluation he recommneded removing the anode from the hot water heater due to the the interactions with local city water chemistry. He was unsure if this would actually totally solve the issue and also recommended that a self regulating water softner be installed instead of the static unit that was put in two years ago. I was considering having this done anyway so I gave them the go ahead.

I requested that a representative come to evaluate my plumbing problem (slow drainage from the washing machine that would overflow onto the floor). Someone was there the same day to take a look and talk about the options, but they were later than the window of time stated and never called to let me know they were on the way. The pricing was a bit more than I would have liked, but I felt confident that they were discussing all the possible options and didn't push me to make a decision for one service or another. They were very straight-forward, professional, and cooperative. I signed a contract for service and was told that they would be there first thing in the morning 8am or would call to let me know if there would be any delay. When they were 15 minutes late I called and was told by a receptionist that they would be on the way shortly and would call. After multiple calls by me, they finally said that someone would be there around 11:15-11:30 (more than an hour after the end of their stated window) at which point I had to reschedule for the next day at 10am. I told them that if they didn't call me tomorrow in their stated 2 hour window that I would find someone else to do the work. They called just after 10am and arrived at my house before I could make it back home from work. The time estimate for the work was also 2 hours and this ended up being very accurate. The work looks good and seems to have been effective so far. The PVC pipe that replaced the old galvanized drainage is more flimsy (as expected) and I will probably need to anchor it to the wall to make sure it doesn't have too much stress from water and the tubing from the washer, but otherwise the work seems to be very clean and as expected.
Description of Work: Replaced a drainage pipe for a washing machine, used a plumbing snake to clear the line, and provided an enzyme drain solution for preventative maintenance.
