The quality of the replacement windows is excellent. We noticed right away that they were virtually airtight. Also, they are easy to clean. Another important feature to them is that they do not significantly cut down on the size of the original window, which is common with replacement windows. The shutters are very attractive, with a color matching the front door. But what really made the difference was the look of the front door, with its mallard blue color and oval glass panel, along with the 3/4 side lights. We get light in the front hall, plus privacy. In all, the replacements gave the house genuine curb appeal. It had been looking a little shabby and washed out, but with this new face lift, we think we can put off residing for a few years. Finally, the quality of the work was excellent. Two men worked on the project for about 2 weeks (weather was a factor, as it was a rainy April). They were punctual, clean (always wore protectors on their shoes when they worked indoors), extremely professional, polite, trustworthy, and in general, outstanding. If they were not able to work on the house due to rain, they called us early in the morning to let us know of their plans for that day. We will call on L.J. Stone again when it is time to do the siding and perhaps for other projects as well.

They arrived on set date and time. The only hitch was that the vanity shipped to them was damaged so a couple of days were lost in getting a replacement. They are very professional and their employees and workmanship was outstanding.

The installer fitted the doors in openings and had to do some board work. Perfect replacement "FIT". They did a very professional work.

The sales person was very pleasant and honest in giving us options. He has stuck to his word as far as time schedule. The company has been very responsive during the work that was being done yesterday as a two-day project. The company representative called to make sure that everything was going fine to our satisfaction. The person working in our home understood that my wife had deterioration in her spinal column and that it was very difficult for her to get around. He asked us to come into the bathroom to make sure that the seat and the shower were at proper heights. He went out of his way to make sure everything was going to be to our satisfaction. They had to go in and out a lot, but they did that quietly. The men were very polite and we were very pleased with them. They were punctual.

The project went extremely well from the sales presentation to the measurements, installation, and follow-up after the work was completed. The two installers were very skilled & professional, and they cleaned up exceptionally well each day (the job took two full days). The L J Stone main office called each day during the installation to make sure things were going well and that we were satisfied with the work. The shower and tub area look wonderful, and we're very pleased with the high quality of the work and materials. I would definitely use this company again, and I can highly recommend them to anyone considering similar remodeling jobs.

Kevin and his helper arrived on time and went right to work. He asked me how I wanted the trim work done. Together we looked at the trim on a window he did for me previously. I went and mailed a letter at the corner mailbox. I went back to my home office (I'm a telecommuter) while Kevin and his helper worked on the installation. They arrived at noon and were done at 3:20pm.

L.J. Stone installed tub April, 2009. LOVE IT!! Robert Vasi did an excellent job with this job. Nov, 2010 Robert installed kitchen counters (via L.J. Stone). While he was here in November, he checked the tub and found caulking coming off, and fixed it (gratis). Early 2011, I discovered the tub caulking was again coming off - even larger area this time - and called for a service call. Fast response to schedule. On-time arrival. Service tech introduced himself at the door, removed his boots, and got to work. He placed a mat in the tub, cut away the failing caulk and replaced with new. Service tech was friendly, courteous, efficient. He cleaned up after his work - could not tell he had been there. We were surprised when he stated there was NO CHARGE for this call.

The work was pretty poor. The room has done nothing but leak. They didn't do a very good job. It has been nothing but a headache since it was put in. Leaks occurred pretty quickly. They came out two or three times to patch things up. It has never been right. The room really didn't tie into the home. It's leaking from the top. They never fixed the problem. They only stemmed the flow, which would be good enough to stop the problem for six months or so. They were nice enough, but after a while they just threw up their hands. The pricing might have been a little high, but it was fair. They did respond for a while, and I'll give them credit for that.

Employees introduced themselves and went to work. Completed the job in a very timely manner. Never left until finished.

The salesman did a hardsell of their window product. The estimate was $9000, twice as much as his competitors. He refused to give us an estimate on a less expensive product as he didn't want to sell it because it had a 10 year warranty. I believe that decision should be decided by the customer, not the salesman. I was not impressed and decided to go with a different company.

All went well. Clean up each night good and workmanship.

The men were punctual, professional, and gave me pointers and information on (about) the roof and gutters. Another company replaced the roof and gutters that were damaged by the hail storm.

Workers were on time, quality of material excellent, the cost of labor and materials was high.

4-day project with 2-man team. Very detailed and thorough. First-rate workmanship. Left no mess for me to clean up! LJ Stone may be more costly than competitors, but they go the extra mile in what they deliver.

Two men arrived to replace damaged window. They worked swiftly, carefully, removed all debris left from the installation.

Jason was on time and did the work in a timely manner. Cleaned up mess well. Put down cover to protect floor. Was very happy with work.

October 28, 2010, Robert came to remove our old countertops, sink and faucet. He was courteous and careful to protect our floors and furnishings. He worked quickly and efficiently, making almost no mess inside the house. This is the third project Robert has over-seen in our home and we know we can trust him completely to do a good job. Solid Surface Craftsmen delivered and installed (with Robert's help) the new countertops. After they were finished, we discovered a couple of issues with the countertops. Randy returned Nov 2 to take care of those issues. Robert and Randy clearly provided care instructions for the countertops. Our new kitchen is beautiful.

very professional, excellent workmanship

The initial sales visit to my home to discuss the project was not pushy and was informative with a lot of focus on how they ensure a positive customer experience including a good service and materials warranty. The quality assurance is what won me over. Bottom line : They delivered on their promise. From outside the doorway gives the house great curb appeal. From inside one can see the attention to detail...they even got the steel door to have a nice wood color and finish that matches the wood trim already in the house! The job was fully done over a non-consecutive 3 day period but it was worth it.

This company did an excellent job of taking measurements to customize the windows to fit the opening on our former screen porch. The windows were manufactured and installation took place on October 5-6, 2010. We were very pleased with all the individuals that we worked with at the L. J. Stone Company during this process. From the sales rep, Tim, to the ladies in the office who called with reminders during the process to the installer, Kevin, all showed a great deal of professionalism. We would recommend this company for your remodeling needs as we plan to use them for additional projects next year.

LJ Stone has been a supplier of preference for us for a few years. They have performed many contractor/remodel services for us. The last service was replacing our front door and storm door with high efficiency doors. While the cost was higher than we originally expected to pay, the product we settled on was better then our original ideas. Additionally there was a lot more to the tear out and trim then we expected. I was glad they were on the job as their standards are as high as my own. When the color on the trim wasn't what we expected, they replace it with one that meet our expectations. I highly recommend this company and would not hesitate to use them again.

We hired contractor "B", and the work is in process and turning out very well.

The company came and gave me an estimate and measured the tub. When they returned to put in the liner, they were on time and very professional. However after the liner was installed, I was told I could only use Window cleaner on the tub or I would void my warranty. I asked at every fair I went to what I could use to clean the tub, and each time I was told only Window cleaner. Window cleaner does not cut through my hard water stains. Finally in 2009, I was told at the Indiana State Fair that I could use vinegar. That worked a little. I decided that after almost 10 years, I didn't care about the warranty anymore and purchased a cleaner that worked miracles. Unfortunately when I returned to the store to purchase more, the cleaner had been pulled from the shelves. Even the website did not have this particular cleaner for sale anymore. So while the company was professional, I was not pleased that I could not keep the tub clean. I feel like I was cheated because I was not informed of the cleaning issue until after the tub liner was installed.
