We have 2 full bathrooms, the smaller bathroom has no tub. Mr. Koger (the owner and father of the family business) did the estimate, and he said they would complete the smaller bathroom first with my purchased "parts & pieces" in 3 days and then would complete the master bathroom (again, I supplied the materials) in approximately 4 days. The owner seemed knowledgeable but his son showed up to do the work. The job included tiling the floor and complete replacement of the shower, vanity and toiIet along with some drywalling and repainting. The son and his girlfriend worked several days on the smaller bathroom. I had to say something about them smoking in my garage! The garage is attached to the house on the end where this small bathroom is located and they left the door open most of the time. The smoke filled the house. After several days of work he had to take 2 to 3 days off and then returned. He broke several tiles in that aspect of the job and the grouting was very poorly done. I spoke with the father on two occasions to voice my displeasure in how things were going. About 2 or 3 weeks into the job, the father passed away and there was, of course, another break in the work. When remodeling finally began again, it took several more days to finish the small bathroom. Since he was intending to start on the master bath the very next day after "completing" the small bath, I used the shower that evening to make sure everything was OK. It wasn't. The shower leaked, the water couldn't drain completely because the shower pan (floor) was not level and the vanity sink wouldn't drain. Since he was to come in the next morning to start on the master bathroom, I locked the access door and when he called because he couldn't get in, I fired him. Their pricing was very reasonable if they had the skill to do a decent job. While I got good references before hiring Koger Home Improvement, my result was totally unacceptable. I believe the job would have been completed as promised if the father had not been terminally ill (I didn't know this at the time of hire) and could have worked on and/or supervised the job site.
