+ -1 moreMr. Paul Bell, his wife and Bell's Mid-West Appliance Service is everything that you could or would want from a repair vendor! They answered their phone within seconds, asked me the right questions, was able to come over within 24 hours and, since they'd asked me for the refrigerator/freezer's model number on the phone, he already had the replacement ice maker on his truck, in case a replacement was needed, based on his years of anecdotal experience in this community that the very common around here full house water softeners often corrode the Teflon coating in the ice cube making section (who knew?!?). This saved him from having to order the replacement part and us from having to wait longer. I can hear the ice maker already making ice, although he told me to throw out the first couple of small amounts, to be certain they're filtered and have no residual pieces of Teflon floating in them ;-)! Bravo and Brava to Bell's!
Description of Work: After several weeks of dealing with a sputtering and now dead-as-a-door nail (what an odd expression, right?!) ice maker for our approximately 7 year old (we bought the place just 5 years ago) Whirlpool Gold side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, I texted our trusted & great general contractor for a large appliance repair person recommendation (never having needed one until now in the 5 years we've been here). He unhesitatingly gave us this vendor and Mr. Paul Bell's name. That was good enough for me! After also checking here on Angie's List & finding similarly glowing reviews (but shocked at only 2 of them!), I phoned their office and spoke to a very pleasant Mrs. Bell who after getting the model number from me made an appointment for the very next day! Mr. Bell arrived promptly, within 5 minutes had the ice maker out & showed me what had caused its failure & we agreed on his cost to replace it. He also, as a favor, replaced the water filter that I had waiting in my cabinet (in seconds)!

+ -1 moreI called in the morning and told them my freezer was not working and the lady got the serial number off the appliance and said he would be there at 11:00 to fix it, and he was and did. I know this isn't a very long story, but that is the way it should be with service people. He got here when he said he would, fixed it, and charged a reasonable price. Who could ask for more?

+ -1 moreMr. Bell was friendly, professional, and efficient, and his wife was very accommodating in scheduling a visit just two days after I called. His standard fee for making and quot;house callsand quot; is $78, but that fee covered the entire labor expenses for the repair. I felt the total charges were very reasonable for the amount of time and work involved, and I'd call upon Bell's again in a heartbeat.
Description of Work: Mr. Bell came to my home and made two repairs to my stove: 1) he replaced the oven igniter, and 2) he cleaned the igniter for one of the stovetop burners. He restored full function to both the oven and the burner, and he gave helpful advice for extending the life of the stove.
