Joe is a very nice guy. He probably does a very nice job on new builds. We asked him to bid and complete a renovation. So, it was probably not a first choice job for him. He remarked several times how difficult the project was. He completed plans, got permits, and organized subcontractors. We discussed the budget, and he updated us monthly. His subs moved significantly slower than planned. He attributed this to the subs having fewer workers with the recent economic downturn. Attention to detail after the subs completed a job (ie: checking the work) was left undone. On several occasions, the plans that we discussed with Joe prior to the work, were incorrect: Gutters sloped wrong direction with improper downspouts Gutters poorly guarded despite multiple discussions and an opportunity to fix. Improperly placed sliding glass door Improper trim/molding (inside and outside) that was not properly painted Wrong sized glass shower door Damaged existing hardwoods (Joe did pay to have them refinished) Many "dead" switches because of poor planning with new light fixtures Multiple "miscommunications" between Joe and HIS subs, with no real "on site" management by Joe We ended up being about $40K over budget.

I simply don't understand. I could/would not recommend them to anyone. They were non-responsive at all attempts to reach them.
Description of Work: Joe was called to do several jobs. I requested a that a new roof be installed, add an additional room and small garage, and some remodeling in the kitchen and bathroom. After a week, Joe came out and looked at the various jobs. He stated that he would give me an estimate within 2 weeks. After the third week, I began calling and leaving messages inquiring about the estimates, No phone calls were ever returned. I finally reached Joe at 8:15am in the morning on the phone, he said that he did not have the estimate ready and that he was very busy. He said that he would get an estimate out that night and send it to my email address. It is now 9:00pm, still no estimate.

Excellent people to work with. Joe was always available, straight down the line - what was stated in the contract actually happened. He was great with planning ideas in the beginning, then everything was followed through right to the end. Workmanship was excellent. The price that was quoted was the price we paid. I wouldn't hesitate to use Joe again for any building project and would recommend him to anyone building a custom home or addition.
Description of Work: 3 room addition to existing ranch style house - den/living area, master bathroom and bathroom.
