I am extremely pleased with Gnoth & Naragon! I made several phone calls to other local providers trying to get my ecobee4 thermostat installed. Unfortunately, no one else wanted to do it (or didn't pick up the phone) because I hadn't purchased the thermostat from them. I spoke with the owner's wife at first and then a few days later the regular receptionist called back to confirm everything. They were both extremely helpful and kind of shocked that no one else wanted to install our new thermostat! I also decided, since they were so helpful, to go ahead and get our furnace serviced/cleaned. Now, I know our furnace is old (20+ years) and it has some issues, but there was no pressure to purchase a new one. The gentleman that serviced our furnace said that it was old, but it worked. So, I'm getting a quote from them for a new furnace. I'll let you know how that goes.

Awful from the very beginning. The tech came out and ordered my part from the supplier over the phone on 12.27.18 in my presence. When I called the next week to see when we could schedule the install the office couldn't find my paperwork and wasn't sure that my part had been ordered. Low and behold, it wasn't. I made many calls to follow up on the part and had to confirm pricing because the estimate I was given was outrageous for a 1-2 hour job. My part supposedly came in the week of 1.29.18 but the owner claimed they misplaced my phone number! Only because I called to follow-up AGAIN did I get the job scheduled. The part was finally installed on 2.3.18; The tech came out and charged me for 2.5 hours labor for a 1.5 hour job and a "Warranty Paperwork Processing" fee of $75 that was never mentioned, discussed (during the many follow-up calls) or written down on any invoice during this process. We are currently disputing the amount due. **** I was told during our last phone conversation that the Company doesn't honor warranties that occurred prior to the sale of the Company in 2015! BEWARE! Price was not rated because I feel the pricing is deceptive so I don't know how to rate it.

The good things: 1) they showed up on time 2) installed working equipment 3) came back in the spring to finish connecting the a/c The bad things: 1) Not once did they respond after the 1st call; it always took 2, 3, or more messages to get a response 2) Put the air filter in a spot where it's inaccessible. Already-existing vent pipes block access to the air filter, so I have to buy two half-sized filters and squeeze them in. 3) The owner called my husband "schnookums". Totally perplexing ... and completely unprofessional.

It went well. A number of them came out and worked in various areas. One removing old unit, one getting the pad ready for the new unit. Another in the basement disconnecting the old connections. Prepping the new lines to run from the furnace to the A/C unit through the wall. They put down drop-cloth to catch the wood shavings from drilling holes in the joists. After getting everything connected, they tested the unit, cleaned up their mess and were done.

For the past two years our central AC seemed to be having problems cooling down the house. I had one company come out last summer and check for leaks and the Freon was low so they added some Freon but didn't investigate the leak. The air-conditioner worked well for a couple months and then it started freezing up again. So, I contacted Gnoth and Naragon to come out and take a look at the system that they had installed back in 2006. Ken, our technician, noticed that the King valves were not back seated properly. So he back seated the King valves and pressure tested the system with nitrogen at 425 PSI. Ken then added 1 pound of Freon to the system to get us up to normal operating levels. Everything seems to be working great! Gnoth and Naragon are very knowledgeable and willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done!

Today is the coldest day in at least a decade. No one is supposed to be on the roads. I woke up really cold and looked at my thermostat...it said that the temp was 55 and the furnace was on. The temp was supposed to be much higher than 55! I called and Scott suggest a couple of things to check and try so a service call would not be needed. I tried his suggestions, no luck. He informed me that he needed to shovel out his driveway and then would come out. He arrived a couple of hours later. He checked a couple of things on the furnace and then waded outside in snow that came up to his knees. Turns out that the snow had blocked the intake filter, turning of the furnace. He cleared the snow away and the furnace turned back on. Thanks to Scott, if the furnace goes off again, I know what to check & do before I call for help. You can be sure that I'll be calling Scott for both heat and cooling in the future (hopefully not too soon!)

They were professional, courteous, knowledgeable and really, and all around great people. I had tons of questions and the gentleman who answers the phones was very patient and friendly. I know they put in extra effort to get our A/C working the first day. They were amazing. I plan on using them for all of our HVAC needs.
Description of Work: Two summers ago, we started having problems with our air conditioner. I had somebody I had found in the phone book come out and it was a complete disaster. The guy couldn't figure out what he was doing and I ended up finding him in my basement with a deep cut in his hand. I wrapped him up and sent him on his way and the next time my father in law was in town he got it working "good enough". Then last summer, when it died again, my husband called out Home Comfort Experts. They talked him into some $700 part with no guarantees, but if it failed we could apply that to a new unit. Well, of course it died a couple weeks later. So, I hopped on Angie's List and did some research. In the end, we had gotten estimates from several HVAC companies in the area and these guys, by far, were the least expensive with the best reviews. On a side note, Home Comfort Experts wouldn't even give me an estimate. They started out wanting to know what my budget was.

I had called several Heating & A/C companies to get a pre-season tune-up on our two high efficiency furnaces. They all wanted me to sign up for some sort of maintenance agreement. When I called Goth (after checking out Angie's List), it was a completely different approach. They didn't try to sell me anything. They listened to what I wanted and then just wanted to know what day would work for me. They arrived exactly on time. They don't give you a "window" they give you a specific time and the doorbell rang right on time. The service man was friendly, professional and courteous. I asked if he could also check the humidifiers on each unit. "I'd be happy to do that." From the time the phone was answered by a very knowledgeable and customer focused John in the office, right through the very pleasant serviceman, Corey, it was a great experience. This company understands the value of customer loyalty and they start building that from the first point of contact. There price was reasonable. Their work was excellent. They did exactly what they said they would do. It has never crossed my mind to use the word "exceptional" when describing an interaction with a heating and A/C company. These people are exceptional. That's what makes this company exceptional.

I noticed yesterday evening that the air conditioning wasn't cooling the house and I couldn't find anything wrong. In the morning it still was not cool. I've never had heating/AC service before so first thing this morning I joined Angie's list and at 8AM started going down the list calling companies. The first two I left messages at; it's late afternoon now and they haven't called back. The third company was Gnoth & Naragon, and a gentleman answered the phone and was very nice & helpful. Most importantly, they were able to come out today. He told me around noon, and the service man showed up exactly on time. He quickly found the problem which was a wire that needed to be replaced. He was courteous & professional and only charged $10 for the wire. The service call was $115 which seemed a little higher than the other companies that I started calling, but it was well worth it because they're honest and don't tack on extra fees or charges for materials etc. Now I am COOL and happy :)

I called the office of Gnoth and Naragon, and they have a wonderful scheduler/office manager named John. He promptly set up an appointment for Bob Gnoth to come out and give me an estimate for a new, 95% efficient furnace to replace the existing old furnace. The house had never had central A/C, and I got a quote for that, as well. Quote was hand delivered on my doorstep within a couple of days, and was much more reasonable (about $3,000 less!!) than another quote I had gotten with another company. I decided to go with Gnoth and Naragon, and an install date was quickly scheduled. It took two days (very reasonable amount of time, due to the install of brand new central A/C system in a home without existing A/C.) I was not at home either day, but everything seemed to go well, except a small issue the installers had with trying to fit everything back into my very small furnace room (house was built in 1958, and its on a slab.) Installers left a note that they weren't able to hook the water softener back up and I may have to consider moving it elsewhere. Obviously, I wasn't too happy about this, and left a message with Bob Gnoth, who immediately returned my phone call. He came out the next day, took a look at the situation, easily figured out a way to fit the softener back in, with a little maneuvering, and running some new pipework, and sent his guys back out the very next day to re-hook it back up. Problem resolved! A couple weeks later, heard a strange noise coming from furnace, called the office, and Bob came out himself. He recalibrated a switch, and all is well. I'm having some remodeling done, with very messy sheet rock dust everywhere. I had just changed the furnace filter a month prior, but Bob also noticed how plugged up the filter was. He replaced the filter for me without even asking or charging me (I wasn't home) - how wonderful!!!! Who does that? Usually someone would just tell you, "hey, by the way, you need to replace your furnace filter." He did remind me while remodeling, it's important to change the filter every two weeks. Very quiet furnace. Central A/C was heaven for the few short weeks I used it (installed in September.) Looking forward to a winter with a much quieter, 95% efficient furnace (my speakers on my television and my bank account will thank me!!) and a hot summer next year with heavenly central A/C. Great company, good references, responsible, professional, dependable owner and workers. You won't be dissapointed!

We bought an old house with a 25-year-old, inefficient furnace and increased the price to the seller to pay for a new one. In their estimate, they accounted for heat loss and new windows we would install, which some competitors did not. But because the furnace cost less than our price increase, Gnoth & Naragon agreed to do other work to make up the difference. John, who answered phone and emails, is very helpful, and he agreed to vent a cooktop and install a whole house fan. Tim performed the work and was very professional. I was happy with the quality of work and would use them again.

The experience was wonderful, from the quoting process to final installation. The company responded within 3 days to provide a quote. Installation was scheduled within a week from the time that I approved the quote. The workers who did the installation were promtp and professional. They covered all indoor flooring with drop cloths. Upon completion, other than the new A/C unit installed and running like a dream, there was no sign that they had been here. They were great.

An excellent, painless experience! Tim, Dean, and Bob arrived at 8:40 AM on Wednesday, exactly within the time frame they provided. Before anything else, the laid drop cloths on all floor surfaces they crossed. They wasted no time in getting to work removing the old furnace. After it was gone, they took measurements and went back to their shop to custom-fabricate the necessary pieces to tie the new furnace into our existing duct work. Since they could not finish the work in one day, they made sure the furnace was in working order so we'd have heat before they left. On the second day, Tim and Dean arrived at 8:45 AM. Throughout the day, they were joined at times by Kirk, Bob, and the electrician (dang, I can't remember his name! Sorry . . . ) all of them worked to complete the installation. (I don't remember them taking a lunch break even!) When finished, all leftover scraps, pieces, junk, everything was swept clean. Not one single piece was left behind. Overall, it was an amazing job. I only have one small criticism: one of the workers smoked but only when he worked outside. It's a minor thing, but if you're allergic to smoke, you may want to say something before the crew comes to do the job. I didn't say anything, though I'm sure if I had asked, he would not have smoked any more.
Description of Work: Gnoth and Naragon did a complete removal of our old furnace and air conditioning unit and installation of a new Goodman GMH9 two-speed upflow 95% efficient furnace with a 2-ton, 13 SEER air conditioner. This included some plenum work, but no duct work. Also included were new vent pipes, outdoor wiring, and line set from indoor unit to outdoor condenser. Finally, they installed a new thermostat in a new location in the house and installed an Aprilaire whole-house humidifier on the system.
