+ -1 moreI was having repairs done to my garage. (not by Burke Concrete) I contacted Burke Concrete & told them I needed my walkway adjacent to the repair area removed before work could begin. Burke Concrete promptly gave me a quote for removing the old & adding new concrete when repairs were completed. After accepting their quote, they were out to remove the old concrete w/in 2-weeks. After my garage repairs were completed (not by Burke Concrete), I again contacted Burke to schedule my new concrete work. They returned w/in 1-month to complete the job. (busy schedule) I had my previous walkway replaced & they extended it from my garage, around my deck, & to the alley behind my house. I couldn't be happier with Burke Concrete. They were extremely flexible (schedule), very professional, & the quality of work was what I was expecting.
Description of Work: They removed my old walkway & replaced with new plus an extension.

Description of Work: Took out old driveway and put in a new one, 101 feet long. Just over a year after installed, it had cracks in it. When I hired James, I wanted a 4" thick drive with reinforced wire. He said it was not needed as the new concrete had fibers in it. I am divorced and worked days, James was poor in communicating his schedule and had the manner that the less he spoke with the homeowner, the easier the job would go. 4 years into the install, I have a 31foot crack along my house. He failed to put in an expansion joint next to the house and the concrete was not the 4" I had requested. Having talked to other contractors over the past year, I find that Burke Concrete is a new name for his company. I heard that his past has had trouble and that he keeps changing his name to stay ahead of his work. I know I will not use him again and have shared my experience with others.

+ -1 morehave happened. I called James about the cracks and he said that sometimes happen. I was not happy at that comment. Spending $6250.00 on the work, I was hoping for the work to last longer. The majority of the Drive is holding up well and really made a difference in the house appearance. So much so that my Taxes went up as a result of trying to improve my property. On the whole, I am satisfied, though a bit better communication on his process would have it exceptional. Bruce Strnad
Description of Work: James Burke is the owner. He was a bit slow in getting back to me initially to set up a firm date. He was a bit slow in returning calls. If he was busy, it was understantandable, but if you want the business, I would think you would make contact. They did do the work in short order, but did not even let me know when they would start pouring the drive. I had to take off work and come home to find then starting the drive. The drive was 100ft long, so removing the old cement and preparing the area would seem a large task. They did it in a day and half. Maybe his people skills were not the best that week, as I felt I had to really push to get answers. They did a great job, though I felt the thickness was not the full 4" that I had requested. With in 3 months I had some cracks of a minor nature, but if a solid base had been added, that may not

+ -1 moreGreat! On August 16,2010 an estimate was presented. August 30,2010 tear out began of the old driveway. August 31,2010 forms were set and pouring began. Sept. 1,2010, the driveway was finished with the pouring. Sept.2,2010, forms were removed, the area cleaned and barriers put in place to protect the drive. James Burke and crew did an outstanding job. James is experienced and professional. I was very impressed and have recommended him to many at work. My driveway is 98 feet long with a side walkway and an expanded approach to my garage. Having done many concrete projects myself, James Burke and his crew made this job look like child's play.
