The installation and follow-up service have been two very different stories. When I requested an estimate, Rik Cannon was very responsive, discussing possible options, pricing out different options, etc. Initially, some of his pricing for components were a bit higher than what I could find on the internet, so he altered that pricing to match that found on the internet. So, his bid was competitive and I decided to move forward with them. Then came installation. That was a painful process. First, they were not accessible at times. So, there would be starts and stops with the installation. They had two installers who argued nearly non-stop, to the point where we had to call Rik and complain that we needed need to hear that on a daily basis. Once the paperwork was signed, Rik largely disappeared, even though he said he would be heavily involved with the installation. He said he would serve as the project manager for this work, but did not do that. He came out from time to time to help with installation. So, it dragged on, but was finally done and seemed to work ok. Then the trouble started. About 10 months after installation, one of our TVs would not get a signal from the Control4. I called Rik out to look at it and it took a week for him to get to the house to look at the system. Then he said he had to order a part and he disappeared for 3 weeks. So, we went without a TV in our bedroom for 4 weeks. He tried to blame it on part availability, but he would not return phone calls or emails for a week at a time. Finally, our TV was working again. Then in early June, we started having more issues. The Control4 wall unit was no longer working. We are getting a humming through our speakers, and the Control4 is very slow to respond. We called Rik and he came out to look at the issues. He said he could repair the humming and slow response time, but needed to take the wall unit to see if it could be repaired. That was early June. He has had the wall unit since then, with only 2 communications since then about status of the unit (one to tell me that he has to send it out and another to tell me that he would have to get it back when I finally asked for the wall unit back since it has been 3 months and no progress). You call his cell and his voicemail is regularly full and you can't leave a message. You call his office and get a voicemail bank type of message and never a return call from messages left at "work." I am still waiting for my wall unit back so that I can find someone else to fix the wall unit as well as the other issues (anyone know of a good home theater installation company in NW Indiana?) My frustration has finally gotten high enough that I had to write this review. Under no circumstances would I ever suggest that someone use this company. You will get a decent price, but the quality of work is low and the after support is miserable.
