Service Doctor is a full service Design/Build Contractor. From Conceptual Design and site selection, to building construction and maintenance services. Our company is locally owned and operated. The owners, Randy Ralls & John Reittinger, work on the job site each and every day. Although we began as a bathtub resurfacing company, we have expanded to include almost all home improvement needs. Our employees have expertise in many different aspects of remodeling—the company does almost every thing under the roof, inside and out!

Service Doctor built a new wood front porch with beautiful metal railings. Randy the owner gave me excellent design suggestions and the entire team was very professional . Their communication with me was very good every step of the way. The crew that demolished my old porch were very hardworking and poured the new sidewalk - well done ! Mario and Mike built the porch with great care and precision - they really took pride in their work . It turned out beautifully !!!

Two very efficient workmen arrived at exactly the time promised. They spread floor covering from the front door to the work site so when they completed the job clean up was thorough. They explained the work to us and just got on with it, finishing a bit earlier than the five hours scheduled but since the sink resurfacing had to dry before the new faucet was installed, one of the workmen had to return the next day just to finish up. Excellent work and the results exceeded our expectations.
Description of Work: We had a vanity sink resurfaced, new faucet installed, tub and shower re-grouted and new shower doors installed.

Everything went excellently. They were always on time and sometimes finished projects ahead of schedule. The communication was fabulous. They would keep me updated all the time and were very responsive. They were all polite and customer-service oriented. Their skills were great. They also cleaned up the area they were working in - nothing was ever left messy. I would highly recommend Service Doctor to anyone!

They worked hard and sometimes in the rain. Very professional, courteous and we noticed a lot of smaller details that they took care of that we didn't think of. Tami has been our contact person and she's the best to communicate with. Tami has a great personality and clearly she's good people. Tami is very knowledgeable in construction and if there are situations she's not sure of, she digs for the best and proper solutions. We're reassured that if we ever need work done, we will not hesitate to call Service Doctor for all our needs. We're so please with Service Doctor that we're having them return to do other projects for us. We had a flood due to severe roof damage and Service Doctor was quick to get to our home and remedy the leak until a new roof could be in place. Not only are we comfortable with knowing Service Doctor will always do the best job possible, we're relieved to have a company like Service Doctor that aims to give us peace of mind because they focus on doing things the right way and go above expectations for customer service. We're very picky, skeptical people, yet Service Doctor exceeded our expectations. With our construction background and construction based businesses, we know a great contractor when we spot one and Service Doctor is a rare find so we will keep Service Doctor as our "call first and only" contractor for all our needs. This was not a desirable experience. Before I discuss what went wrong I would like to discuss what went right. I truly believe that Service Doctor (SD) would have worked on this issue until it was completely to my liking and satisfaction. Everyone was very professional. My sales rep Jeff Smar was very courteous and helpful. Randy (the owner) bent over backwards to try and make my experience a positive one and to help make up for any short comings. Everyone was extremely nice! What went wrong? Firstly, I was not aware that the job was going to be subcontracted. I?m not sure if that should matter or not but I thought SD would be doing the work. I felt this caused a disconnect as the great organization I was dealing with would not be working for me directly and the sub-contractors could not speak English. The issues started with the job being quoted differently then was discussed in person. Then later additional costs were presented. Randy was very understanding and added all discussed extras for the cost of the quote. So he stood behind customer satisfaction. The work was done. All looked great except one part. Disappointment because I had scheduled the work for when my family was on vacation. They had an entire week to get it right. SD sent the sub-contractors out to patch the bad section of the floor. I said I would be fine if it was seamless and could not tell a difference in quality. Unfortunately you could tell. So they came out again to do the entire floor. This was very inconvenient because I have 2 kids and a dog to worry about. Floor looked fairly good this time even though there were parts that I wasn?t very happy about. But now there was an accident when SD was replacing my refrigerator and now there was a deep scratch/groove in the brand new floor. SD came out to ?fix? the scratch/groove and left an unacceptable mark on the floor. Now we scheduled for them to come out again to redo the floor while we were on vacation. Note it?s now been two months that my house has been in upheaval (part SD part because of my personal preference for scheduling). Again we would be gone for a week. I asked that the floor be perfect (within reason) when we got back. They had a week to make it right. This time there were visible waves throughout the floor and lighter patches in sections. We are not happy with the quality of this job but at this point we really are willing to live with it as our house has been in disarray for two months. It is unfortunate that the floor could not be done to our liking (which I don?t consider nit-picky or excessive). But after many attempts (two of which had a week span while we were not home) it certainly doesn't seem like we are going to receive the floor we wished. It?s just too hard to get the kids out of the house for a day, find a place for the dog (and keep him tame for two weeks while the floor is hardening) and worry about our toddler?s breathing (asthmatic) while odors of the floor protection dissipate. That?s why having the work done during our vacations was so desirable. That said we lived with what was done. Again Randy was great and discounted my cost in a desire to make me happy. Furthermore, he also credited me funds toward future work. That said I will be sure to ask if the work is being subcontracted. I am fully confident that should I have wanted to continue to get this right that they would have worked on the floor until it was good. I just can?t go through it anymore and we are trying to have a Fourth of July party and will have people in our home. I don?t think I am an unreasonable person but I did expect a perfect floor from the professionals. Perhaps subcontracting is not the way to go? I think neither customer nor vender is very happy in this situation. I didn?t get the floor I wanted and SD most likely did not make a profit (if they didn?t lose money).

From the first phone call to get information to the finished project, everything went smoothly. The woman I spoke with on the phone was very friendly and helpful in explaining their service and scheduling an appointment. The gentleman that came out to do the work was very personable and professional in his work. He did a great job and the bathtub looks great! No complaints at all.

The job went on fine and he is wonderful. The price was also reasonable. He was a professional, reliable, punctual, enjoys his work, takes care about what he is doing and was respectful. Overall, he does a great job and takes care about details. He also provided suggestions on how to maintain the flooring.

My wife hired Service Doctor and, to be honest, I entered into the process skeptical of what results we would end up with. I tend to be a perfectionist and when Chris, the Service Doctor Technician, showed up; I took time to walk through the work he would be doing. Chris was very receptive to making sure I was comfortable with the manner in which the work would be completed. Additionally, he was very respectful of our home. He placed tarps from the front door, up the stairs, through the bedroom, and into the bathroom where he was working. He worked with me to properly clean up the shower doors that would be getting re-installed, and paid attention to the small details that make the difference between average work and good quality work. The result is a beautifully finished bathtub enclosure and vanity top. While I cannot yet comment on the longevity of the work I have every reason to believe that the finishes will last just fine, and that Service Doctor will stand behind their work. I was so pleased with the quality of the work that I have already contacted Service Doctor to provide quotations for other work that I plan to complete.

For whatever reason, the paint became marred. I called; they honored their warranty. The man (John?) came out, re-did the tub, and did such a wonderful job. We were very pleased!! We are very happy with their services. Much cheaper than buying a new tub!!

Well I called and asked questions about how the service would be provided. Asked for example how much it would cost to have my bathtub stripped and resurfaced and a non slip bottom painted on. Also asked if the price included filling any nicks and dents or gouges he may find after removing old surface. I was told they would take care of everything and it'd look like brand new. The guy showed up bright and early and removed SOME of the old caulk from around the tub and removed old finish on tub. He then resurfaced tub and painted on the non slip surface. This process took about 8 hours including his lunch break and breaks. I was told not to go in there for a day and let it dry. 2 days later my contractor came to continue working on tub and noticed that the not all the old caulk was removed from the tub and thus needed to be done and then that section resurfaced. I called service doctor and they applogized and said they would be right out in a couple days. So my contractor had to stop future work yet again when he came out and removed the caulk and painted that area. This took a couple hours. I was told to not use tub for 24 hours. Again 2 days later my contractor came back out and was like umm u need to come in here. Where the old caulk was removed the guy from service doctor just painted over it and it was all runny but dry. Looked horrible so I called service doctor and they sent him out yet again. There warranty is for 5 years no cost to you. So that part of there company I do like. So the guy came out and apologized and said he would have to redo the entire tub. So 8 hours later he says he's done and not to use it for 24 hours and over the next 30 days the tub finish will fully cure but is safe to use after 24 hours. So a couple days later my contractor comes back and says it looks good and finished my bathroom. Well me and my girlfriend go to use shower and notice the tub is VERY slick on the bottom. It appears to have the non slip surface but it's still very slippery. So I call service doctor and they contact the technician and he says when he redid tub he must have sprayed over the non slip surface and put a layer of glaze over it. To me it seemed like he knew he made the mistake but hoped it wouldn't be a problem. Well me and my gf have both fallen so I said it was a problem. Yet again they came out at no charge and sanded down the bottom of the tub and redid the non slip surface. It's been a few months and everything seems to be ok and it's holding up. time will tell but with all the problems I've had I would go with another company. One more thing I will add is if you ever have a problem with the work the original person that did the work is the only one that can fix it.

We at Service Doctor take pride in our work and we show it with our warranty. This customer had us come out to strip & resurface his tub. After the tub was resurfaced the customer had his surround demoed out that ended up chipping the tub and pulled resurfacing away with it. The customer also used a Magic Eraser on the bottom of the tub. As per us standing behind our work we went out and repaired the damage even though it was no fault of our own or the products that we use. After that a few days later we received a phone call from the customer saying that there were more chips in the bottom of the tub. Once again our tech was sent out and we had to sand and repair the tub bottom. Once again we stand behind our work and our warranty even if the damage was done by another vendor. In this case the homeowners tile guy put the chips in the bottom of the tub while performing his work. We had to make one more visit for a warranty claim for this customer. The non skid surface was not performing to the customers satisfaction so we went out and reapplied the non skid surface. We at Service Doctor stand behind our work and back it with a great 5 year warranty. We have customer signed documentation that lists all the problems and causes to back that none of the issues were caused by our tech or the materials that we use. We would be happy to share this information with anyone.

Service Doctor offered me a few different options to solve my problem. Repairing the doors and sidelights was the most cost efficient especially given the fact that we still have the dogs and the cat who have damaged the surfaces living with us. Without close inspection one would not be able to note that the surfaces have been repaired. I spent roughly $700 for the repair where replacing the doors and sidelights would have cost upwards of $7,000 plus installation. Randy Ralls visited my home to view the problem and gave me a few options for repairs. Tammi Blatz worked diligently with the technician Joe to repair the doors and to provide me with a very cost effective resolution. I searched for someone to help me with this repair to no avail for almost nine months. One provider visited my home, and promised to fit me in for a repair for several months. Service Doctor came promptly and worked to identify a resolution. They are professional and courteous. The technician was respectful of my home and contents and left everything clean and in good order.
Description of Work: My dogs chewed the mullions on my Marvin French doors & sidelights badly damaging them. They were previously repaired by another provider with drywall compound. The doors were chewed again by my daughter's cat. Service Doctor repaired the doors again utilizing bondo instead of drywall compound. Unless you look very closely you would never know that they had been damaged.

It went better than expected. The workers showed up on the day the work was to start. They were timley and always cleaned up after themselves. Angie always returned our calls promptly when ever we had any questions. They brought in different people that specialized in different skills, such as painter, tub refinisher, glass and mirror, granite guy. Joe did all the tile, cabinet, electrical, and plumbing. Everything went as scheduled and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. I highly recommend this company to anyone that wants high quality work by professionals.
Description of Work: Removed ceramic floor tile. Removed tile in tub surround. Gutted the entire bathroom, removed vanity,mirror, toilet, exhaust fan & light. Put new tiles on floor, tile baseboards, tile tub surround, refinished the existing iron tub, added clear glass doors to tub/shower that open on hinges. Replaced can lights with modern cans. Did new vent work for new exhaust fan. Installed new cabinet with granite countertop. Put in wall to wall mirror abouve the sink.

I finally had solid proof that my signature had indeed been forged by the subcontractor and Ralls reduced his bill. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. Ralls defended this subcontractor and backed him in money demands until I had solid proof of their fraud.
Description of Work: After being a long-time customer for carpet cleaning, I called Service Doctor following a house fire. I was told they did fire restoration work. Instead, they sent a subcontractor that forged my signature approving payment for almost $7000. They also falsified time records, damaged my property and took items from my home without prior authorization. In fact, they took my furniture out without my permission and put it in a storage unit located at Service Doctor's premises and charged $200 just for storage. The owner, Randy Ralls had represented to me that they had ozone equipment to remove smoke odor, however, after they took my furniture, I was told that they did not have such equipment available and would not until I paid the $7000 (holding all my furnishing and personal property hostage). They also had turned over all of our clothing to an out-of-state company that I had to drive to in order to get our belongings back -- after paying $1200 just for their estimate (again, I never authorized this).

The first experience was very positive. Randy came to our home and had a number of good ideas to make our bathroom much better in terms of look and performance. We were to receive a quote for the service right away. We had to call and ask for the quote again after the first anticipated date came and went. We received the quote and were asked to come to the showroom and finalize the details. We went to the showroom and picked out the exact floor we desired, the medicine cabinet, the colors for the resurfacing of the sink and cabinets, and the type of toilet (elongated vs. round). After a couple of weeks, we did not receive a call for the installation. We again called the company and were told that there was a backorder for the medicine cabinet, so they were waiting for the install. We asked that they start the install without the cabinet and install the medicine cabinet after it arrived. They agreed to this and came out the next week to install our new flooring and toilet, and remove the sink base and linen cabinet for resurfacing. This went very well. The installer was very good, and was able to do a great job on these items. We were happy with the quality of the resurfacing, and the installation of the flooring, but unhappy with the quality of the toilet. We were told the toilet would be a "top of the line" model, but instead received an average model with an unacceptable toilet seat. I was able to fold the seat cover in half with my hands. The seat was very thin, and would move when an average sized person would sit on it. I immediately went to a home improvement store and bought a replacement for $25. The medicine cablinet was not mentioned again for at least a week following the completion of the other work. When we called again to ask about it, we found out they had received the wrong finish (brown vs. white), but could resurface it in white and install it next week. This was done, but the mirror had a crack in it that came from the warehouse. We realized right away that the cabinet that was installed was missing the lighting fixture that the display model had in the showroom. I went to the showroom to make sure that I was remembering the correct cabinet, and did find that I was correct. I spoke directly to both individuals that I had previously dealt with and found that they had mistakenly quoted the wrong cabinet to begin with. We were going to get a revised quote with the correct cabinet. When we finally received the quote, the cost difference was almost $300. This was not in the price range that we were looking to spend, so we decided to just keep the mistake. One day after installation, another mirror had cracked, but we had yet to do anything other than open the door to look at the inside. We called to tell them about the damage, and they said they had already placed an order for the replacement mirror. We informed them that it was now two mirrors, and they said they would replace them. While we were waiting for the replacement mirrors, we painted the bathroom. In the process of painting, we used painters tape to mask the new medicine cabinet from the paint. When we removed the tape, the resurfacing peeled off with it, leaving a horrible color mismatch. I again called Service Doctor to tell them about this issue. At this point I was told that with all the problems that I was having, I was going to be receiving a new cabinet to replace the one that was already very troublesome. I spoke to Tammy and she said they were ordering the cabinet after our call was disconnected. I waited over two weeks and called back to get an updated status. The person who answered the phone did not have any information concerning this. She said she would contact our saleman and get information. When Randy called back, he said they did not order the cabinet to his knowledge, but he would make sure that I received a call on Monday with all of the information. I made it clear that this would be the last step in the process. It is now Tuesday evening and I never received that call. I have now asked Service Doctor to come and take away the broken cabinet and refund the money in the contract for that service. I was hoping this would have gone a different way, but I cannot recommend this company to anybody based on my experience. To their credit, the installer was very good at doing the work and cleaning the mess. I'm sorry to report that was the only positive part of the experience.
Description of Work: - New Floor in the bathroom. - Complete resurface of the vanity and linen closet. - Resurface on the sink countertop. - New toilet. - New medicine cabinet.

THEY WERE ON TIME. THEY WERE VERY COURTEOUS. THEY DID EXACTLY WHAT THEY SAID THEY WERE GOING TO DO. ALL OF THE FIXTURES LOOKED LIKE NEW AFTER THEY WERE DONE WITH THE JOB.
Description of Work: WE HAD THEM RESURFACE ALL OF OUR BATHROOM FIXTURES AND OUR JACUZZI.
