RICHARDS POOL SVC

We sent out an inquiry for pricing to close an above-ground pool and never received a response back. We were unable to close pool until end of September due to family illness. We were very disappointed at lack of professionalism. If they weren’t into, a call back saying so would have been appreciated.

They closed the filter OK but when they put the cover on they didn't connect all the straps to the screws in the concrete. In fact, one buckle was removed from a strap then tied to the screw with a string. They let water collect on the cover, which made it difficult to tighten. They didn't pump the water off nor did they tighten the straps. I told them before they left it wasn't put on correctly and they said they needed to put more screws into the concrete to connect it correctly and they would fix it in the spring. This is the third winter I have used this cover and I have never had to add more screws, in fact, I always had more screws then straps. So I called the office and told them I was not pleased with the cover situation and the secretary told me she would talk to him and call me back. I didn't hear back for a week, so I called them back and asked what happened. She told me, she put me back on the work schedule. But nothing ever happened and I wasn't contacted again. That was on September 7, 2017 and still no response. I used this company last year and they did a wonderful job, but it was done by a different brother than this year.

Jamie ( a younger brother) installed pool in 2004, closed it in 2004, and opened it in 2005. I was very satisfied, and would give him a 4 plus to 5 rating for those jobs. Unfortunately I was very dissatisfied when the the oldest brother installed a new pool liner. $900 cost was for labor only. For starters, it was a 2-day job and he told me he went out of his way to come back on the second day. Next, the pool leaked badly. They would not reply to phone messages. They sent a diver out to inspect liner and he found a scuff but nothing that would cause water to leak out. We're talking about thousands of gallons. I told them I couldn't find a leak and that I wanted them to find it. They didn't come out to look for it. I found it. (On a positve note, the diver told me if I couldn't find the leak he would do a quick inspection and wouldn't charge anything.) The water return fitting had a crack in it between the pool wall and liner. They came out and replaced it with a used fitting because they said they didn't have a new one. Also, after the top rail was assembled we found a sheet metal screw in the deep end of pool. I hate to leave this negative review but it is what it is. I'm 65 years old and this is one of the worst experiences I've had with a contractor.

They did a great job.

There was a leak after the installation. Did not come out promptly, and when he did, he couldn't find the leak. He did call this winter to check on the water level or a frozen pool.

Overall, everything went well. The pool was removed within a short time. They cleaned everything up, stacked the liner at the curb for the garbage service, and left. The price was a little high, but-they did come out very quickly and were efficient and professional. We would recommend them to anyone needing to have a pool removed.

We had a problem, and never having had a pool, were clueless what to do. The Richards family walked us through our crisis. We are just thrilled that there are still good people in Indiana working to help make our pool experience successful!

THEY CLEAN VERY GOOD. THEY ALWAYS USE THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF CHEMICALS SO THE POOL IS ALWAYS CLEAN AND THE WATER IS GOOD. THEY ARE ALWAYS ON TIME. IF WE EVER NEED THEM THEY ALWAYS CALL US BACK RIGHT AWAY. THEY ARE VERY PROFESSIONAL. THEY DO GOOD WORK.
