Orkin Pest & Termite Control

It is very expensive and I am not sure it has made any difference at all because...I don't have any pets or children so I put out the d-Con poison and killed 3 mice with that. Once you sign up with Orkin though, you sign up for the full year so I am going to continue on with the service. I don't think that I will renew it. I had mice, I'd never had mice before but I think I would have been just as well off killing them myself. Of course I didn't realize that when I first signed up. I haven't had any experience with any other provider other than Orkin. I think they come the 3rd Tuesday of every other month. You pay $175 for their first visit and then you pay $90 every time they come and they come every other month. For me, I think they need to know 2 things. First of all they spray poison in the house which made me uncomfortable and will discolor you wood floors, as a warning. The second thing I would say is, I would first try to kill the mouse off yourself because when you add up the original cost and then the every other month cost, I'd say it is right around $700 that you'll spend. I've spent $80 on poison so far and got a better result. The gentleman that comes is a very nice fellow but the cost that you have to pay and the result that you get I think are completely out of alignment. I think that they are the highest cost provider and the results that you get are no better than what you could give yourself. He is here about 5 minutes and it costs me about $90. I called them the weekend and they were there on Monday morning. The guy is always here when he says he is going to be here. He is a nice guy but I ask him directly about whether or not the spray will discolor the wood floor and he said it wouldn't and it did. I've really called directly and they have told me what I ask about. They, of course wouldn't do anything about the staining on the floor but I think for me anyway it was a lesson learned, that you have to be really careful when you let someone into your home, he makes absolutely sure that you understand what you are signing up for. So for me it was a life lesson.

The gentleman showed up on time and was friendly until he went into our basement and saw all the lights on in the crawl space and doors open. He abruptly asked who else was here. I explained that we were getting numerous bids because we expected the job to be large, and I shared the other bid we did receive (1200-2000). You could tell his demeanor changed and almost like he was wasting his time. He did spend about 30 mins looking around and doing some paperwork. Not much more was said till the end when we sat down and went through with what he found. He seemed a little disorganized but wasn't too bad. He told me that he would email me the bid in the next couple hours. I didn't hear from him till about 4 days later. then I received the following email. This customer went with a local company for half our price. He told me they quoted him 900 bucks!! He also told me if I can't beat that price, I'm wasting my time I was surprised to receive this because it was obviously not meant for me, it was meant for his boss. Second my wife and I have NOT decided to go with anyone and we were actually leaning towards Orkin because we felt with the type of service we were looking for, we wanted a national company to back it up. Also the other bid we received was 1200-2000 depending on what we did, which is what I shared with him. Orkins price came right in the middle. I also never and would never tell a company that was spending time giving me a bid to and quot;beat a price or dont waste my timeand quot;. We expected the national company to be more expensive and we were surprised they weren't more. We exchanged emails to see if there was some sort of explanation that I was missing and never received an explanation that made any sense, just someone trying to cover themselves. Clearly he was lying to his boss for what ever reason and the warm and fussy feeling I was looking for by going with a national company quickly went out the door. I would not recommend going with this company simply on a trust factor.

Not bad. Still haven't seen anymore mice or mice related scenarios.

They are great. They didn't push additional services. I wish the price was lower. I will continue to use them in the future.

I found Orkin by accident. The gentleman that I had was really nice. He inspected the inside and the outside of my home. He was a very nice person, and very thorough. The gentleman came during the hours he was supposed to. He gave me the report for any pests or problems I had in my home. I would absolutely keep this inspector.

They are in and out quickly. They come in regularly and make sure we have no problems. The product they use is not harmful. They also fill openings in your foundation. They make sure mice or something does not come in. They keep an eye on that. They recommend changes if needed. They don't like mulch next to the house. They ask you to trim the bushes and keep problems aside. We have a foreclosed house next to our house and the inspector found termites in that house. We got a contract with them then.
