Downing Plumbing came out and gave us a quote for a new hot water heater and even installed it the same day.

I JUST WANTED A SMALL REPAIR NOT TO BE TOLD THAT I NEEDED A NEW TOILET.

Was a little pricey but they did nice and fast work, cleaned up and mess out tarps down on carpet. Quality company so far

Polite, friendly service. Good explanation of what needed to be done and alternative solutions. Fast same day service that I didn’t ask for AND didn’t have to pay extra for. Price of kitchen faucet was high but I guess you get what you pay for. My previous faucet was a “lowest-price” purchase and it only lasted 4 years. So I went for the good stuff. Highly recommend.

This company is expensive & I feel they take advantage people. 60 years HUH? When I spoke with DOWNING customer service rep, she told me the service call fee of $69 would be included into whatever work needed to be done; which was what made me decide to use this company. When the workers arrived they looked at the job & offered two possibilities to repair in the event the first action didn't work. His first price of $152 to remove the shower arm pipe, inspect and replace shower arm if needed plus the $69. The problem wasn't the shower arm, the problem was the shower riser pipe CONNECTOR which was an additional $129. He had to cut into a wall in another room to get to the pipes, it's an additional fee to repair holes they have to make and of course that's ANOTHER service call because the guy doing the current job doesn't do drywall repairs. $285 some would probably say that's a good price...(ok whatever) not for THIS job. Now I have to find someone to drywall this hole. I called the company before agreeing to the first job to ask about the miss communication of the $69, the rep that answered returned to tell me they would apply the $69 to the job. I was charged for the first job that wasn't the issue.

My original shower head had multiple settings; however, the new one had only one setting. Fees were pricey.

They came very quickly. The quote was pretty accurate. The bill was more do to the extra feet of snaking needed and they did let me know before hand. Two workers came and finished the job in about 2 hours. They also gave me some suggestions for how to fix the situation for good. That bid is for a much bigger project and will have to check the quote to others. I feel they did a good job, quickly and professionally.

The $69 fee to come was reasonable..but $90 to change a flapper was highway robbery.

My sump pump died around 5:30 in the morning after a night of rain. By 6am someone from Downing called to inquire about my issue and although I work in Chicago, and could not be there to meet the plumber, I was able to get this sorted by 10am. The people I spoke with were super nice, Jim the plumber was very informative and though I wasn’t expecting to have this cost, I felt the price was fair for a new pump installation. (Yay, homeownership!) I was able to pay over the phone and the whole process was quick and (relatively) painless! Will keep them in mind for any future plumbing needs! Thanks again!

Downing subcontracts the pumping and clean out to Midwest Excavating with oversight by a Downing representative. Twenty minutes late to the promised 1.5 hour window that was provided, but otherwise satisfied overall with the service. Relatively simple job, and would recommend to others although higher cost compared with the "average" cost provided by Home Advisor.

I was very impressed with the quick response to my request for service! Downing Plumbing called me to set up service even before I closed the Home Advisor app on my phone! The friendly and professional technician was out the next day and had my issue addressed within 30 minutes! Definitely adding Downing Plumbing to my list of favorites!

They called within 30 minutes of my completing the form, and set up appointment for the next day. They reviewed my project gave me the price to complete, I accepted and they put together the parts needed from their truck and began the work. They did an excellent job and I couldn't be happier. Very nice people and whenever I have another plumbing project I will definitely call Downing Plumbing.
