+ 1 moreThe long narrative. I own a House that was built in the 20s. After calling around for quotes on the chimney they were so high that I had decided to knock it down and cap it off. Note that the gas fireplace no longer is used nor has a gas line ... The heating is now provided by a heat pump vented through the side of the house.... The only appliance needing the chimney was the water heater. I called my outstanding plumber to install a heat pump water heater. The rational was the money would be better spent on future saving. He advised me that heat pump water heaters weren't as reliable as he would like; however, he would have no problem changing my gas water heater to electric.... but before anything I should give these guys a call as they had just done stellar work for him. (Garage work?) I called them.... they came out the two days later gave me best and worst case scenarios... from tuck pointing to knockdown rebuild. With a do what's right they were given free reign and started a week and a half later. Three days later I had a chimney that is straight, tight, critter proof and ready for it's second hundred years.
