Affordable Expert Tree Care

It went well. There were three workers. It took them about 3 hours total to do the work. The workers were nice individuals and got the job done. They got to work. They could have done a little bit better job cleaning up after themselves, but I am not going to beat them up over that. It was a decent job.

They did a great job and got a lot done for the money.

Fantastic- they cleaned up everything and were very courteous to us. We will definitely hire them again.

They proved a large team, the right equipment, and had the trees down, and the area cleaned up, in 3 days. The owner was onsite everyday and he, along with the team leader, answered all of our questions. We, and a neighbor had to have our power lines taken down due to the size of the tree, and they handled the disconnect and reconnection with IPL in a very expedient manner. With a tree this size, the sawdust created, and the equipment required, expect your lawn to be impacted some. But this team did everything to reduce the impact, laying down boards and plywood to distribute the weight of the tires/equipment, removing all small branches, twigs from the ground each day. The entire tree was chipped or taken to a land fill. A tremendous job,and at less cost from all other bids we received (>6K for the Hackberry alone).

The puzzling thing was that their ad on Angie's List stated that the price was "for a day (21 labor hours) and 1 hour of project management" with a "3-person crew for 7 hours" etc. However, the 3-man crew worked for 3 hours plus another 45 minutes for clean up. They couldn't use the bucket truck because of inaccessibility. However, a lot of dead branches still remain in places that were in plain sight, and easily accessible. Other than that, they were helpful and hard working individuals.

They scheduled promptly and performed the work in the manner that met my expectations.

Overall I got more then what I paid for with the Angie's List deal they had. Dan the owner was good to work with. The crew's work seemed average at best, not what I would consider an "arborist". The removal went fine and the trimming was just good enough for me to accept it. The cleanup was good. There was a lot of work to be done, and feel overall I pretty much got done what was needed. To conclude I would say to the next person using them to be very specific on what you want to have done and double check that it was done...if not I feel that Dan the owner will end up doing right by you.

This is an excellent company and I highly recommend them. They started the job with-in a week of contacting them. Their pricing was extremely reasonable. When finished they cleaned up the yard to perfection. All the employees were professional, polite and courteous.

They came when they said they would come. It took a couple of days, but this was a big job. They removed two walnut trees from our front yard and a large wild cherry from the back yard. They trimmed several large branches that were hanging over the house. They also helped us with moving a section of a bridge that spans our creek. It had collapsed last summer in the heavy rain. We had no idea how to move it. Danny used his bobcat to pick it up and move it to a new location. He also came back a few days later and ground up the stumps. Our yard looks great! They cleaned up all the debris and removed the wood. Overall, they did a fantastic job. We will call them again if we need any trees removed!

I contacted several companies to get quotes on removing 4 large trees that overhung our house. Unfortunately the trees were in a location that they had to be climbed, and could not use the traditional bucket truck. Danny came out and gave me a quote, which was quite reasonable. We came to an agreement on a price to perform all of the work, and we scheduled a start time (approximately 1.5 weeks out). There was a change to the schedule, due to another customer having too wet a yard, so they came earlier than expected to do the work at my house. It took them 2 full days, and I couldn't be happier with the results. After they cut down the trees, they ground out multiple stumps in the yard from old trees/shrubs/etc. Danny even did a few hours of bobcat work to grade and level some landscaping that I had. All for the quoted price. I have recommended them to multiple people. They are my new go to anytime I need tree service or bobcat work done.

It went exceptionally well. They performed the work on the day they scheduled. I did not have to be on the property. I thought the company excepted credit cards, but they do not. One gentleman was kind enough to come back the next day for a cash payment.

They did a great job and got a lot of work done in one day. This is the second time that I have used this company and have been pleased both times. I think the big deal is a value for the amount of work that was done. I am sure that I will use them in the future.

They showed up in a timely manner with nice equipment a were very professional helped us get the trees off power lines and garage, so we could have our power restored, on other occasion when we called them for rental properties they came out in the middle of the night to help .

Overall, this experience was a 3 month long disaster. He was unresponsive, full of excuses, repeatedly contradicted himself, and did not leave things in decent shape. I purchased the Deal, so he got paid upfront. He said there was a 4-week backlog in April, so I expected to have 3 trees trimmed and 1 removed by May. It took a month before he called and came to look at the trees. By that time several limbs up to 18 inches in diameter and 10 feet long fell from those trees landing dangerously close to the house. He said he could schedule it by the first week of June, which came and went without any word. He was very vague about when he would come, and each time I spoke to him he would say that he would "try" to call the day before they were to come out. By July they had still not shown up. There was always an excuse, but I was always left with the feeling that the real reason was because this job was not a priority because of something he had said during his first visit (that they make no money on these deals). In mid July the severe storms took down the tree that they were supposed to have removed 2 months earlier, and it landed directly on the power lines taking out power to the entire neighborhood and starting a fire. I ended up with 2 feet of water in my basement with a lot of furniture and belongings ruined due to the lack of power for the sump pump. When they finally did show up the next week, they were not able to reach the tree that was hanging over my house (my top priority), so they did nothing with that. They also ran out of time before they could trim the tree that was my second priority. They removed the 2 trees that had fallen in the storm, and in the process demolished a sturdy cast iron framed park bench which is now buried in pieces within the pile of wood chippings (he has not mentioned anything about the bench, but the only way the cast iron could have been broken the way it was would have been for it to be run over it with the machinery). I got home before they finished and discovered that they would not be able to take a fallen log which had also been one of my priorities. When they left, they did not close my gates allowing the dogs to get out. Bottom line, not only was this an awful experience, but I now have to hire someone to trim 2 of the 3 original trees and haul away a trunk (my original priorities), and to remove the stumps that are left (not to mention I have several truck loads of chippings to get rid of.... I had a choice of paying an extra $350 to have the trees hauled away or having them dump the chippings in the yard so they could haul the trees). The only way I can see that they could begin to atone for this poor experience would be to compensate me for 2 feet of water in the finished basement and for the tree work that they were not able to perform. In all fairness, they did a decent job removing the two trees that had fallen during the storm, however it would have been less work for them and far less stress for me if it had been done two months earlier. My recommendation if you hire this company: do not provide any money up front and make sure you are visibly present while they are doing the work.

It was done; it was completed. There were some issues with clean up and things to that nature. There were a lot of stuffs that were left behind. I pretty much helped them clean it up which I didn't mind but there were some issues when I tried to have them watch out for the plants. They were working on a fairly limited area with a lot of things around which I didn't want to torn out. I guess they did pretty much the best they could.

We were very happy with the service and price of our "project", and we will definitely use this company again. In fact, we have already reached out to him this summer for a "summer/fall" project this year (2015).

Work was performed excellently by the crew to get the limb removed and care was taken to not cause any more damage. After work was complete the area was cleaned where the limb had fallen, a sealant was put on to protect the tree. I was impressed with not only the expertise, but the quality of equipment to do the job. I will use them again as I was completely satisfied.

The work ended up fine. However, we contacted him after purchasing the 'deal' way back in November. When he came to the house and we were not wanting to expand the work, we were told he would call us when he finished some work in the area. Six months later, the work was finally done. He was responsive when we would contact him, but not very quick to get the work done because it was a smaller project I am assuming. Nice man, but I wasn't impressed that I needed to wait 6 months for small job to be complete.

They did a great job of communicating with us: they informed us when they would be here and did a walk-through before actually come to to work on the yard so they would know exactly what the scope of the work would be. They then came on the day scheduled and also double-checked to make sure they understood which trees were to be cut down before actually starting to cut down any trees, which was very impressive. They also had to quit a little early due to rain/bad weather. They told us they would be back the next day. They came back the next day exactly as scheduled and finished the job. They also did a great job of cleaning up the yard. And since they were also using a bucket truck, they saw the top of our roof--we have a very high roof-- and informed us of 2 problems we had not noticed. Dan and his crew did a wonderful job and we would highly recommend them to others.

While it took us about a month to schedule them out when they came by they did great work. Danny not only took care of the trees but sent someone back to do the stumps at a great, fair price. He was very willing to work with our needs. I especially appreciated the advice he gave me on some diy landscaping projects. Thank you!!

It didn't go. Through Angie's List e-mail, Affordable Ex. Tree Care requested and received my phone number. After a month, they hadn't called me back. The day that I received the credit card bill with the item, I called them--the proprietor said that they had "stopped by one day when they were in the area, and I wasn't home"--they had never contacted me--and said that "if I needed next-day service, they were too busy." When I objected that this wasn't what I'd said and that it wasn't unreasonable to expect a call within a month, he said that things that begin badly end badly--and that he didn't want the job! Not what I expect from an A-listed Angie's List business or from an Angie's Big Deal.

I typically do not invite people who come knocking at my door asking to do property maintenance. When I answered a knock on my door from Michael Sizemore I was somewhat heasadent at first. Michael handed me his business card. I asked if he was listed on Angie's List, he affirmed that his company (Affordable Expert Tree Care) is in fact listed on Angie's List. I check their listing on Angie's List and found them to be a straight A business. He was offering to cut down a large dying Elm tree on the front of my property. After some discussions about licensing, insurance and cost of the job I decided to hire him. Judging from my front porch the equipment parked out on the street, I thought it would make the job fast and safe. I poured a cup of coffee and sat on the front porch to watch that old Elm tree go away. Michael and his assistant worked quickly and professionally in taking down the old Elm from the top to the ground. They cleaned up all the debris from the job and left a clean area around where the tree had been. While they were here I liked how they treated me in a professional manor. I will have them come back to my property for a couple of other jobs that I have been wanting to get taken care of. I highly recommend them to anyone wanting tree work done.

Very good job. It took two days to remove the trees and debris. While expensive, they were less than other estimates I had and I took advantage of the Angie's List Big Deal for half of the work. The Big Deal opportunities have been very good!

It took a couple of days to connect for the appointment, but once we connected, he was able to come by that same day. He also gave me quotes for removing several other trees. He said my tress were accessible whenweather permits a lot of other jobs from being completed at this time. I had expected him back a week or two ago, but I have not yet heard back from him.
